I still think your initial comment was the correct one. Not offering a refund (of the SP's value) as an option for SP holders is going to get them into trouble. Now I personally think offering up FC4 as compensation is worth well over the SP cost, but Ubi is crazy to make that valuation for all of their customers and not offer a refund.

So after reading the FAQ, there really is no reason for people to complain that they won't get a refund. You will get everything that was announced for the season pass plus an additional Ubisoft game on top. Pretty good deal, i think.

Damn you season pass holders should definitely jump on Far Cry 4 if the Season Pass was only 25$, that's a cheap ass Far Cry 4. It's seriously one hell of an amazing game, and this comes from someone who doesn't play much Open World games, especially of the Ubisoft Varitey. Far Cry 4 is just all kinds of awesome, so much to do, and every mission is incredibly open. Plus the stealth is miles ahead of any AC game.

I'd bet you'll be able to get PSN or XBL or whatever customer support to refund you. If not, you could probably contest the charge with your credit card company or PayPal if you really want to go that far.

But I imagine most people will just take Far Cry 4, assuming they don't already own it.

DO NOT CONTEST A PSN OR XBL CHARGE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. this is a sure fire 100% way to get PSN/XBL to lock you out of your account permanently. I have seen it happen to tons of people. You will lose ALL your digital titles. Don't do it.

The topic title needs to be more clear about what's going on. The season pass is no longer available to buy but all of its buyers will get its intended content along with the free Ubi game.

Oh, the season pass isn't cancelled for those that already bought it, and now includes a free game. The season pass (and free game) is not available if you didn't already buy it, but you do get one DLC for free.

This is a free gift as apology for a crappy launch, no one is losing out

To be fair the Master Chief Collection doesn't have a season pass. Driveclub season pass owners should get some love though because that game still doesn't work 100%. Sony and Microsoft should take notes though, this is a really nice thing of Ubisoft to do despite people here trying to spin it otherwise.

Well, DLC will be free. But FC4 is actually for the money people spent on Season Pass , as it seems like future plans are making game to actually work instead of shoveling in expansion packs

I also suspect that season pass sales were awful given the reception of the game. So it wouldn't be too expensive of Ubi to reward those faithful fans who bought the season pass in spite of all the crippling technical issues.

I think it's more that they need all hands on deck to fix the mess that is Unity, so people are not as pissed at them. That way they can get those sweet sales from the next game.
