Somewhere around 2005? Championship Manager became Football Manager due to some disagreement between SI and Edios. No one play champ manager anymore so I imagine Edios are desperate for the sales to justify the IP.

Football Manager went on to completely crush Championship Manager sales wise, so much that there hasn't been a CM game since CM 2011.

It's kind of weird that CM 2007 and 2008 are the only ones available on Steam.

first game i've gotten 100% of achievements of on steam(doesn't help that a bunch of achievements usually end up being bugged for me most games I play)

played through the game last night and then recursive mode tonight both more or less in one sitting(not really one sitting but didn't do other stuff for a lengthy amount of time so pretty much)

great game,I loved almost everything about it other than a few minor things and the combat system really grew on me a lot to the point where I wanted to do the new game plus(recursive) pretty much right away by the end of it

Aside from my bigass giveaway, you prob. missed
my SECOND Dishonored DLC giveaway...unless you entered it D;
I entered that. Yep, didn't win. At least I got the final Skyrim DLC as a gift. I am finally eligible for the better mods out there. I may play it some time this month. But of course, I will...

An encore day that no one asked for.
This is alright. We need a terrible sale some times for us to catch up on what we missed the last time around.

Speaking of playing games, I should get started on finishing my GotY Steam list.

I have absolutely no idea if this will work, but here goes:

Instructions for participants:
I am giving away a Steam key. To enter this giveaway, send a PM to ModBot with any subject line. In the body, copy and paste the entire line from the message below containing the game you want to enter for. Confused? Watch this GIF tutorial or ask for help.

ModBot Basics:
- This giveaway has a manual blocklist. The giver has identified members who abuse giveaways and restricted them from participating.
- I really appreciate thank you messages, but please send them to me (gngf123, not ModBot!) via PM instead of in thread.
- Do not trade keys you win off-site to enrich yourself. Don't try to claim games you have no interest in collecting or playing. Don't claim games to give them to friends off-site.
- If the key is already taken you will not receive a reply. Replies may take a minute or two.

Rules for this Giveaway:
- If you are a lurker you are not eligible for this giveaway. You need five or more posts in either the current Steam thread or the previous one to be eligible
- This giveaway is a LIGHTNING raffle. The winners will be selected by random draw 15 minutes after the draw was created. Any games not claimed after that point will be given away first come first serve.

I hate when it starts to get really late, and you're playing a roguelike and you've got a great game going and you're not sure whether you should:
a) keep playing while your in the zone to avoid a stupid death tomorrow when you go in cold.
or
b) get sleep so you don't make a stupid mistake.

I just stayed up to late. Stupid f'in death, doing stupid f'in things. I swear 'easy' on DotE is just there to tease me, because it's damn hard. Even harder when you do stupid stuff.

Disappointed in Alien: Isolation, thought it'd be scarier but because I know I'm pretty much going to die anyway it takes a bunch of the tension out. Even so early in it just feels like trial and error, or at least die enough times to see where the aliens go first.

It'd also be a hell of a lot more immersive if the AA options actually helped any.

Sega laughed all the way to the bank.
One of the rare cases where the fanbsse followed the developer instead of the IP. I bet Eidos didn't expect that.

Is there a way to remove Hold any key to skip prompt during cutscenes in Shadow Warrior? I wouldn't mind it sitting there but blinking is too much, so lame.

Happy new year everyone

2014 was the year that got me back into PC gaming. I bought almost 400 games on steam from march until yesterday.

I should have returned sooner. Built a PC in 2012 (for Day Z) but only played DayZ, Max Payne 3 and Battlefield 3 on it. Now I have finally come to senses. Haven't touched my xbox one since may (wolfenstein).

My steam account is 10 years old. I only played PC when I was young until the 360 came out and I switched exclusively to that because of Gears and Dead Rising and achievements.
I have now bought all the games on steam that I liked on the 360 over the years (if available) and a lot of the games that I enjoyed on PC before Steam was available. I'm sad that I missed some games like Wolfenstein.

I hope 2015 will be great for us PC gamers.

So a friend of mine who used to mine bitcoins just gave me a free R9 290 video card because he had 5 and didn't need them anymore. I hope my computer is good enough to handle it.

XSeed just registered a domain for Xanadu Next (made by Falcom, known for Ys)
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=963142

Which apparently is a super awesome PC ARPG / dungeon crawler and I'm assuming it will be on Steam.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=451165
Other than the name and a few bits of arranged music, there's really nothing that links this 2005 dungeon crawler to the original 1984 game. Not that that's a bad thing - Xanadu Next takes the tired mold of Diablo, injects it with a Metroid-like world structure, Falcom-style action and Zelda-like puzzle solving (although there are a fair share of box puzzles, but we'll forgive them for that.) The result is one of the best hack and slashers in a long time.

Since Xanadu Next is focused on dungeon exploration, there's very little in the way of plot or exposition. You're some adventurer, in a new town, and you have a problem - right after you find your first dungeon, you get your ass handed to you by a much more powerful warrior. Although you're revived from the brink of death, you're also now cursed, and need to find a way to cure yourself, which revolves around finding the legendary Dragon Slayer sword. Outside of a few townsfolk and fellow adventures, the only other primary character is a little girl who makes you lunchboxes (and occasionally translates stone tablets that reveal bits of history about the lost kingdom of Xanadu).

Sounds rad as hell

Oh look, it's one of those annoying "how is x game?" questions:

How is "The Fall"? I've seen it mentioned a few times but ignored the chat about it because I had no idea what it is. However I just saw the video on its game page as I was hunting for sale bargains and I really like the look of it. Any thoughts from those who have played it would be appreciated :).

Also, do we have a thread or list of games made by fellow GAFers? If not, why not?! HINT - someone should totes get on that!

In relation to that, what is the name of the game being made by the GAFer heavily influenced by Alien and in an isometric perspective? I want to say it is something like Solaris but that's a movie :/.
