but instead of playing a matchmaker to them, you now have a stake in who ends up with who

I received A Zoo in Winter by Jiro Taniguchi for christmas after wanting it for ages. I just finished reading it. Really good I wish there was more! What are the other works of Taniguchis that people recommend? I've read the first few chapters of Distant Neighbourhood ages ago and would like to get that eventually. The Walking Man seems interesting I might get that book next.

All of Taniguchi's manga are decent to good. A Distant Neighbourhood is closer to A Zoo in Winter in style and his best work. The Walking Man is mostly episodic adventures of a man walking around the city so there isn't a strong narrative, but it's still a good read. The Ice Wanderer is just bunch of short stories, not all of them are great, but might be worth reading.

I need to re-read Prison School, it is too good to just catch up on it from the last chapter I read.
Not everything from Taniguchi is available in Eng, I think the ratio is about 50%. Of those works, most of them are ok with Distant Neighbourhood being my favorite from him.
Prophecy itself isn't fully available in Eng even though the manga has ended its run. It's also one of those series that are neither very good or bad.

Don't even plan to read this manga or any other work of this author for that matter but I couldn't help to read chapter 36 after a GAFfer posted a couple pages down and was so pleasantly delighted I had to go back to earlier in this thread and read the melt-down history... IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. I deliberately went back to post dealing with chapters 34 and 35 because I wanted to taste the optimism and goodwill towards the authors.
I totally understand why people take a nihilistic approach to some author's works... You don't want to be that guy raging when a shitty writer shits the bed... when I writer's out of ideas, they're gonna go back to what they know... some people just never learn.

Kazumi the master strategist strikes again. I know it's just the way she is, but it's pretty hilarious seeing her getting incensed over being called a slut by Takaya, and then acting like that on those last pages. Wonder if they'll run into the other loving couple during their movie date.

Its a self-prepetuating cycle of hate Rebel. We hate his work yet we read it and reach to top of mountains to yell our hatred for his works. Princess Lucia, Suzuka and Fuuka, I hate them all.
Sad part is that I loved the first two to death during the beginning, especially Suzuka since I related to it quite a bit.
