Dying Light Gameplay: 7 Things You Must Do

I really wish GMG was selling this game, it's where I've been getting most of my PC games lately.

Best deal I've found is G2A, which has it on sale for like $33. Not sure how long it’ll last, but it comes with the preorder bonus. Only thing is that the keys won't work in some regions.

Don't buy from G2A unless you don't care about your keys being potentially revoked by Steam.

"Pre-order Dying Light to receive the special Be The Zombie Game Mode! Be the Zombie is a PvP game mode and offers players the ability to stalk other players as a night hunter - a lethal predator with unique and deadly skills. Item will be packed with your game after launching."

Ah, thank you - I had heard something about that before but honestly I forgot. Yeah that's crummy but if I like a game it's not enough for me to not buy it.

I think the traversal looks fun, but other than that it looks exactly like Dead Island, for good and ill. Might be a cheap purchase down the line as I did enjoy DI, but not something I'll be rushing out to buy on release.

I feel like I only heard about that happening once, with Sniper Elite 3 a while back. The keys I bought for Mordor and FC4 still work with no issues.

Still, it sucks that there are no good deals from authorized sellers. And that the version available on Steam is $60 when it's $50 everywhere else. If G2A is doing $33, I'll take the risk.

Man that Gamersyde PC footage looks sooooo much better.
Friends wanna get PS4 version, but I want the PC graphics and 60fps.
Ugh what to do what to do.

What's your specs ? Dying Light is shaping up to be (legitimately) taxing.
There is nothing wrong with chosing to play with your friends.

Waiting for the reviews on Dead Island 2, as well. The only thing that appeals to me about that game is the developer, being the one behind Spec Ops: The Line.

If Walt Williams was involved, I would have been somewhat interested.

Spec Ops didn't exactly have great gameplay, even though it wasn't as bad as everyone said it was.

Looks like a huge fun wold to run and jump around in and combat looks fun also. Looks heads and tails better than the zombie stuff out on PC (h1z1, dayz, wz, etc..)

But I dont really want a story with missions mixed with my zombies. I only want 4 missions:

Stay Fed
Stay Hydrated
Stay Warm
Stay Rested

How fun would it be to set up traps and board up windows to prepare for the night cycle, go to sleep where you are awoken by one of your traps going off, your barricaded door getting pounded, getting overrun, killed and then starting over in a random position on the map.

If they ever come out with a survival mode where its one life per game, with me having to MAKE my own safezones (traps/barricades), hunt for food & water, make fires, make weapons that need maintenance, I am totally in cause this city and controls totally kill everything else I have seen.

You're basically describing The Forest.

That's not what these games are meant to be though.
They are meant to be co-op/single player fps games with a story to follow set in a moderately big world.

1. Do not pre-order this game and support shitty practices.

2. Do not buy this game because you'll be directly supporting shitty practices.

3. Do not let your friends buy this game for the above reasons

4. Do not ever consider buying this game, even pre-owned

5. Do not let the hype from less informed gamers who don't care about what's right or wrong influence you. Stay strong, you're doing gamers everywhere a service by boycotting such stupid practices.

6. Do not let anyone tell you that you're lone voice/boycott won't amount to anything. History has proven otherwise.

7. Do make sure to make it as clear as possible to publishers that you will never support any game where they lock entire modes behind a pre-order wall.

Preordered mine just the other day! Wanna see the preorder slip?

I'm encouraging two other friends to get it as well.

This is what we call "spite".

While I agree that we shouldn't support this kind of bullshit (Warner are very bad at this and subsequently are one of my least favourite publishers), you'll just piss people off telling them what they should and shouldn't spend their money on.

Looks not bad, but this is definitely the the game that you must wait for reviews and impressions before buying.
May be really good.
May be boring, buggy and forgettable.
Can't tell.

One annoying thing that I noticed is that when you look down you see your feet sliding on the ground unrealistically (4:55). Not so great for a game that focuses on movement.

I was hoping for a zombie game that was more about avoiding zombies rather than fighting them since fighting them is so fucking boring. I'm kinda disappointed now that I see there's more combat.

I'm intending on buying, playing, and trading it within a week or two. As long as I can complete the main story without paying extra I don't really care what they do with the other modes.

I was going to post how the video looked good/interesting but I would likely wait for reviews.

Now I am buying two copies of this game. One for me, and one for a friend. Thanks solely to this post.

Graphically looking rather competent. I love per object motionblur and PBR.

EDIT: Why does every god damn PS4 game have no AF?!

Seems like it'd be fun to mess around with for at least a little while. I might give it a whirl come release day if my system is up to snuff for (mostly) max settings.

Just fyi because I've seen people posting about it: Amazon is selling the PCv for 50$ with a 5$ credit. It's the best legit offer I've seen for the game thus far.

Apparently during the night the zombies become faster and more aggressive and there are these "parkour zombies" that can basically follow you everywhere and are super strong.

I would love to play Mirror's Edge With Zombies.

Unfortunately this game looks more like Far Cry With Zombies.

Mirror's Edge gave you all your abilities unlocked from the start and had you navigating finely tuned linear levels. Dying Light has you trudging around a giant map and looks like it is filled with the depressing bloat that now fills every open world game -- XP, leveling, skill trees, crafting system, etc. I was sad to see that it even copies Far Cry's towers.

It's a video specifically designed to show you cool ways to kill zombies, not challenging content. The gimmick of the game is that the zombies become super-aggressive monsters at night, and will actually climb up buildings to kill you. I imagine that during daytime the human enemies will be where the challenge is at.

Far Cry's towers.

Well... no Dying Light for me.

I didn't realize this was coming out so soon. Guess I'm gonna have to pre-order. It looks good, and I was a fan of Dead Island, even though it didn't live up to the hype.

Deep Silver...is that you???

What's the word on multiplayer for this title? I heard there is co-op ...

Co-op is up to 4 players and you can play the main campaign together. You can also free roam together doing side missions and ingame challenges.

There is also a PvP mode called be the zombie. At night time you can invade other players or get invaded yourself. You can turn it off if you like. This mode is also tied to a pre-order. If you don't pre-order you can still get invaded by players who got it.

That was honestly one of Mile's better attempts at trolling.
I was going to say...Miles doesn't usually do hit n run posts like that, and that's when it dawned on me...

Although the practice of bribing customers for preorders is pretty slimy and not something I typically want to endorse. I don't think that requires going total scorched earth on the dev/pub though.

That actually sounds really cool. And moronic to be tied only to pre orders.
