New Mario Party 10 character artwork

Kinda odd that random mooks keep getting swapped in and out as playable characters (Shy Guy only got one game, lol), but sure why not Spike is cool I guess. He's no Dry Bones, though.

Also goddamn, have we really not seen a single hint of Waluigi in this game so far? We getting MK7'd again, lol? EDIT: Oops, guess he has been seen, I just missed it

This post is so weird. Has artwork ever pushed anyone into buying a game?

The art was actually the sole reason I ended up purchasing Muramasa: the Demon Blade. I wouldn't have been interested if not for the aesthetic.

With that said, very nice renders. Jury's still out on whether or not I'll end up getting this - wanna see if the remaining boards look fun or not.

Locks "standard" Mario Party gameplay to Amiibo-exclusive content on a square, one-path board.

Seems the game is actually discounted, unless all MP games have shipped at 10$ under the usual retail price of other games. MP10+Amiibo matches more closely to usual game prices on the WiiU.

I love this art. I haven't particularly loved the more recent Mario Party games but I'm the biggest goddamn sucker for the art style and it could be fun playing with others.

What is this "Bowser Party" we speak of? Is it that bundle or something?

Yeah, but each amiibo unlocks a separate board - at least four to six boards locked behind $10-ish amiibos, that's pretty lame. Get one, and you only get one board.

Bowser Party is the new 5-player mode where Bowser is the gamepad player, there's a trailer out you can watch.

The only difference between the boards is the theme, is it not? They are all the same square board.

Yeah, that's some beautiful Peach artwork. They've been knocking it out of the park with her design lately. Between 3D World and Smash Bros., she's rocketed up to one of my favorite Nintendo characters, aesthetically speaking.

The Mario render looks really weird, particularly in the eye area. It's like he's more realistically proportioned or something; it's freaking me out.

Wtf why did Spike get picked out of all the options? Like really? How awesome is that!? Spike rules

Oh well, waluigi, toad, toadette and now also spike are all amiibos I need for this game.

Waifu Rosaline in it, confirm buy

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but it sure would be nice if somebody could post a picture of Rosalina without all of the "mah waifu <3" comments polluting the thread.

Oh, I did not want to come off as whiny.
I think Spike is an awesome character. I just really want Dry Bones back.

I'm a firm believer that they shouldn't cut any characters unless they have to due to technological limitations. That obviously isn't the case here, since Mario Party 8 had the largest roster so far.

Good looking renders, though I only care about this for the possibility of some slightly more niche character amiibos like Boo.

Uh, so then is it reasonable to lock the 'only difference' behind a $10 x 6 codes? Twice the cost of the game for minor 'differences'?

You could call each character a minor difference considering how Mario Party works - would you be happy to pay $60 to unlock 6 characters in Mario Party? You may be fine with getting it peice-meal, but I'd prefer to get the whole package, and if they're going to charge that much, something substantial. I just don't see how you can justify it.

I think the amiibo board actually can be combined into 4 different quarter parts, even though the footage so far hasn't shown the feature. If you look at the board, there are clear lines, dividing the boards into 4 parts.

what about the Peach waifu comments? there's more of that in this thread so far.

Ugh, did we have to end up with a straw-man of all things? Obviously no one would want the game to be piecemeal with its characters or its genuinely unique boards.

I don't know what you call substantial in this case? The board being locked behind 10$? Well the game is 10$ cheaper to buy MSRP for anyone who doesn't care about a square board on which you have your Amiibo's play. I don't think this mode is actually Classic Mario Party. This is AI Party on a square board, with all the usual cheats Amiibo's bring and can save items to the stand for long-term Amiibo party play.

Oh maybe, wasn't particularly paying attention.

As you're showing, for all you know at the moment, it could be the most fun mode of the game and it's $60 to get all the content for it. I'm totally down with the idea someone could get it cheaper whose not interested, but that would be reasonable if the extra mode only cost like $10 or $20 altogether. It wouldn't be hard to make it DLC for that price, but they're making a conscious decision to price it higher and I don't understand how you can defend that it's ok for them to do that.

I'm just getting the impression you're assuming it's throw-away content so it doesn't matter if you get all the boards, no?

I assume this because that has been every Amiibo implementation in as of so far in any game.

A board for Amiibo's to play on, hence the name. You're right that it could end up being the greatest thing ever... but as of right now it looks like Monopoly for AI.

Anyway Nice artwork.

It has pushed me into buying a game. Wind Waker and Okami are examples.

Artwork captures a game's overall art style. Aesthetically pleasing art style is huge for a game. It makes the difference between Wind Waker and SpaceWorld Zelda 2001.

The redeeming factor to this game is that Waluigi is still playable. Too bad Boo isn't.

Daisy & Luigi have been my main playable characters since Mario Party 3, so I'm not too worried about them being absent. I would like to see Daisy's MP10 render, though. ("Red's the best, brah.")
