One of my most anticipated games this year just please NAIL THIS DICE.
I have a feeling there are quite a few people that would love a game like you are describing.
Both BattleFronts were predominantly third person, but the first had full first person support as well (though I believe PS2 lost this option). As I recall, the second had limited fist person support.damn it all.
Then I am out.
Unless my memory is faulty, i thought SWBF2 had a third person mode.
Honestly, I disliked the dodging and sprinting mechanics.it already had sprinting and dodge rolls in the second (you had a stamina bar)
which is why I preferred 3rd person, I liked knowing where I was dodge rolling and having a better field of view
Same. I never liked playing Battlefront in 3rd person, it's a FPS for me.
because it is a decade later and it's made by an entirely different development team with different goals.
Pretending there aren't going to be quite a few changes is more than a little naiive.
Amen.Battlefront always seemed to me like a 3rd person Battlefield, except with the ability to fight against bots.
They better allow us to use bots; it being online multiplayer only would be horrible.
BF4 was a misstep and honestly it's probably difficult getting your game out on five platforms under high pressure deadlines. But same engine they've learned a lot, BF4 is fixed, EA willingly delayed Hardline. I don't see another fiasco I see a company who learns from mistakes. Pre Ordered and ready to buy Battlefront Premium
I doubt bots will be in it.Battlefront always seemed to me like a 3rd person Battlefield, except with the ability to fight against bots.

I just want a solid launch.
I also need a solid release date before July 31st so I can schedule my vacation.
If it turns out to be a Battlefield game with a Star Wars skins amma be pissed.
Star Wars: Hardline
Well, DICE said that Battlefront won't be a Battlefield game so i remain hopeful
Amen.
From memory, the different character-classes and vehicles had much more character in Battlefront.
In recent Battlefield games there is so much overlap between class and vehicle loadouts that it's all rather samey. Battlefield's way is great for fine tuning your loadout to your own style, but makes 'learning' each class rather meaningless.
I hope I'm wrong, but I can see classes/loadouts being a customisable mess of infinite options.
EDIT: Also, a word of warning. The launch date being set due to the movie release isn't a good sign that the devs are going to be given time to work out all the bugs before release.
This game has a load of red flags against it. Hopefully EA actually address some of them before release, but given that this game is going to print money no matter what they do, I'm not sure they'll bother investing the resources.

I predict a December release along with Episode VII. I also expect levels and character from Episode VII.
So is this game going to incorporate stuff from Episode 7, or is it all Original Trilogy stuff, or do we even know?

Like it needs it!
Never underestimate the Star Wars merch juggernaut. All they need to do is use assets from the new film and it will do the marketing for them. I'm expecting amazing numbers. Hell, I'll be buying a PS4 just play it..
I'd imagine it'll have a bit of everything. Having content from the new film would really help with marketing, so I'm sure that'll be in there too.
Will it come with the delay too?
Odd, I thought the console Battlefront games were tied a bit to the Xbox, though there was the PSP Battlefront game.
Honestly, the only marketing thing I can recall from then were the console sticker decals for the PS2 and Xbox from preordering the game at EB/Babbages.
Edit: May have been Battlefront skewed towards Sony, BF2 towards Microsoft now that I think back.
What's wrong with ADS? This isn't a movement-based arena shooter to where it will mess up the pacing. I can agree with the rest though. Would just want to see preset classes with possible cosmetic options.
Battlefront was also modestly tied to Xbox, as the demo that came with the 2004 Original Trilogy DVD boxset was for Xbox. Lucasarts was heavily tied to Microsoft during the early 2000s, with console exclusivity for KOTOR, Republic Commando, etc. Not sure if anything can be extrapolated from this information though lol.
