*Canadien Mario hits American Mario*

"Sorry!"

Canada got Mega Man first...they win

canada has free healthcare so no matter who wins the fight, americans are still drowning in hospital bills

^ I mean, this last bit is true. But it's much easier to take care of 36 million against 300+ million, no? A little simplistic of a comeback, friend. FIGHT HARDER.

And let's not forget the original and still best amiibo:

Hmm...that's another issue I guess.

I'm most excited for Ness...I just started EB yesterday but I think he'll be a cool figure to have, then next is Lucina. Getting Robin and Charizard because I 'need' them.

Whoa, many pages already! @_@ I'm behind.

Hmm, Canada is going to get their own thread. I don't mind but I hope that people wouldn't split into many different Amiibo community because I always enjoy reading other people's stories and pictures from other countries. It was entertaining to read those stories and looking at the pictures because their situation is completely different from us.

Like Europe had Kirby shortage when we didn't. It was pretty interesting to see how difference the markets are.

Im prolly taking this too litetally but there is no free healthcare it still comes out taxes and on average you pay more over your lifetime that way than you will need medical bills in your life...

I wasn't planning to leave the thread, was just an analogy + I'm hungry.

I think anyone in Canada looking to trade will probably post in both places, so that won't be a problem.

And the reality is that the Canada thread will probably slow down soon. Again, it exists because people in the Canada Gaming thread didn't want Amiibo retailer talk in that thread. Most of the people in the Canada Amiibo thread didn't even want a separate thread in the first place.

I suppose. Was just joining in the discussion just for the discussion. Either way, just didn't want you guys to feel left out... since you did say you felt out of place here in that other thread.
Anyways...

Understandable with Wario. I like Warioware but just prefer his original outfit. Happy it'll be there for fans like you though.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Wario amiibo with his classic outfit as part of the Super Mario line. That MIGHT be the only time where I care about two versions because of the costume differences instead of just a different pose.

Well I'll miss all the cool Canada bros but hopefully no one else tries to leave. I know this thread moves fast but it's full of awesome people who are dedicated and genuinely care about others. I haven't really found a thread I wanted to constantly be in before this one.
No one is leaving. lol

Trust me when I say no one wants the Canadian Amiibo thread. It just happened because the Amiibo people were tired of fighting and decided to just end the conflict in the most Canadian way possible.

(Which is, of course, to make Americans angry it seems lol)

So is Sheik still impossible to find? I need her and Link to have my little Zelda collection done.

Sheik's a rare, so it's going to be really hard to find without trading another rare.

edit.

The Canadian Amiibo thing is only a temporary thing due to the Rosalina shock, they'll be back, they just didn't want to overflow this and the Canadian bst with their stuff atm. Thanks for being polite, Canuckleheads.

It's time that this thread goes to the Community side of things.

I don't see why. It's extremely popular and relevant. Amiibo news comes in at a constant rate, and is one of the hottest topics in video games right now especially as Nintendo of America continues to screw things up.

You might have a point eventually but not at this time.

Brickseek seems weird. I called two Targets (an hour and two and a half hours away) who had 3 and 7 Rosalinas showing in stock, both said they had none. Glad I called before driving. Still it's really annoying.

My wife called around yesterday and a place showed 17 in stock and when she got there they had 5 and limited to 2 for purchase. We got one to give others a chance to get it. Not real sure how the stock tracking works for them. Best buy when I worked there would track through the computer but if someone came in and moved the item or hid it behind something in the store we would not have it even though the store showed it in stock.

Still can't believe we are splitting things up. I never ever saw this thread as being region centric. Kind of sucks, as I really loved the overall community this was. It was cool how each region helped each other. Didn't matter where anyone was from.

I never knew it was such a big deal, and that people from certain regions were having issues with the thread. I mean, EU/JP and US stuff couldn't be any more different. Yet there wasnt an issue there.

But hey, people do whatever they feel is best for them. Starting to really ponder if we should make different regions threads now.

It's only temporary, they're just dealing with a huge retailer fiasco, and didn't want to flood the two threads atm.

Mine says none. And its accurate. It said the amounts on day one and has been correct ever since... Specifically on Rosalina that is...

Good. I also love your avatar. I can't watch tonight since it's something I watch with my family, so it might have to wait until tomorrow night.
Yes, although I am firmly in the minority when I think Boyd should get killed by Raylan at the end of the series. lol

My two non-exclusives orders arrived from Amazon.ca today. One of each of Bowser/Ike/Toon Link/Dedede/Sheik in each.

Last time I had a problem in that a similar order had both Pit amiibo packages arrive damaged because of garbage padding/packaging, so I submitted feedback and got a credit. They packed these ones the exact same way, but only one Dedede had some slight creasing on the package (which is fine, it just means that's the one I opened)... but I'm still a little pissed off that they don't pack/pad these a little better.

To be honest, I kind of wished they did flood this thread. This thread started moving slowly for the last 2 hours. Would have given us more to talk about

Sports threads are in community. OTs, even very active ones are in community. Gaming Discussion is meant for recent news, discussions on topical issues, and new OTs to draw in people that didn't know a game existed or to get impressions. This thread is a community of people that discuss a topic that has been around for months.

This thread does need to go to community, in my opinion.

Round 1:

usa-vs-canada.png

FIGHT

I know it's a joke. But I never saw this as a U.S. thread. I mean, there is a lot of talk here about importing. About things going on sale in EU/JP. And release dates have been scattered as all hell. You couldn't get any more different than EU/JP and the U.S. in terms of the stores that sell them, release dates, shipping etc.

And I haven't ever seen it be an issue in terms of differentiating between releases and stuff. In fact, even seeing people in the Canada thread act like this is about Americans whining about it, is kind of baffling to me. Again, never knew this thread was any region centric.

But eh.

The Canadian Amiibo thread for the most part, deals with our own retail clusterfuck. Once things settle down, we'll likely migrate back here. I know I'll still be posting here.

Again, starting to think we should just make 3 more region threads. So maybe this will get split up enough, starts being more sub-amiibo community centric. Maybe for the best. Whatever is more practical.

So why exactly did CanadaAmiibros split?

I'll tl;dr since the last three pages apparently flew by.

* CanadaAmiibros were posting here and in the Canadian Deals and Discussion thread. Discussion here was mostly general amiibo + wave discussion, while the stuff in that thread was re: retailer availability/news/deals.
* Amiibo retail situation in Canada went fucking nova over the last week and a half, and the not-interested-in-amiibo people in CD&D wanted the amiibo discussion moved out (and had been bitching about it since Wave 1 anyway).
* CanadaAmiibros spun up a thread /off of that thread/ for the amiibo discussion taking place in that thread, which was 99% about the Canada retailer clusterfuck.
* Everyone in here lost their shit thinking we seceded from the union or something when it has to do with another thread and not wanting to shit this one up with 700 city-specific posts about Toys R Us inventory etc.

So why exactly did CanadaAmiibros split?

It's a good decision. If I recall a lot people (Canadians) were posting stuff like "OMG STORES HAVE WAVE 3 OUT TODAY." Which set off a fire storm, because that applied only to them and not to NA.

It was confusing to everyone, I think.

Eeh, the splitting is practical Every single time we see a NA Amiibo photo someone asks where they are, so this way is easier to know if its canadian or american.

Inevitably, this means that our Amiibos will have to duke it out in a giant tournament.

Right?

Definitely. Quick. The people that are doing the giveaways. This is your perfect chance to test out your streaming equipment. Load up two Mario amiibos. One with each costume and have it duke it out!

Maybe I'll make a JoJoAmiiboGAF for Salva and I. Then SwapNoteAmiiboGAF with Katt. Finally, ShamanKingAmiiboGAF with Greenie.

Makes sense. Good reason to leave.

The Canada thread literally had nothing to do with this thread though until it was brought up here.

I mean, I'm not Australia, so I have no idea what goes on in AusGAF, but imagine if there was a lot of angst in that thread about Australia Amiibo talk drowning out the rest of the conversation and people deciding to split off just because it was easier than having a fight.

Like, for fucks sake, we had to drag stump into dealing with our garbage (because he is incidentally the only Canadian moderator on GAF). It just got so silly that we just felt it was much easier to make the thread than deal with pages of arguments.

Of course now it's happening here, so we can't win. lol
