Woah, am I missing something here? Where did you order from and how did you get that price? That's a better deal than GCU!

Canada E3 pre-order deal + price listing error = the discounted price some pre-ordered Persona 5 for. I'll need to get the PS4 one too, though, which wasn't announced at the time the pre-orders were open for last year.

i've never played a persona game (I'll definitely be picking up 5), but I'm sure 60fps will be a welcoming new added feature to the series. (if they even do it that is) if it's never been that before.

It's never really been necessary until now since the most action the series ever got was running around a flat dungeon and whacking shadows in the back. But with all the different action stuff they're teasing in dungeons now (platforming, stealth) 60 might make some difference.

I swear to christ the Ron Paul "It's happening!" gif erupted into a wall in my mind, as I watched this glorious trailer.

Holy shit, best trailer the video game industry has seen in a very, very long time. I am so excited.

Long live Atlus!

The trailer is put together exceptionally well.

No generic dramatic music or over-bearing chorus.

Smooth jazz, and stylish production values is a winning combo.

so something like 60 for 4, 30 for 3?

and has the series ever had a routine standard for fps, or has it not mattered

It hasn't really mattered. It's a turn-based RPG with virtually no action elements outside of swinging your sword to start a battle.

There were some minor performance issues in some of the PSP ports tho, but nothing that harmed the game.

I suspect it'll be 1080p30fps for the PS4, and 720p30fps for the PS3 tho.

I'm hoping Ps4 version will be 60, not 30.

Anyways, going off of what FluxWaveZ said on the last page, is this game not considered AAA?

Based on this chart, he's only 5'6" at most?

So I was watching the trailer yet again, and staring me in the face are a few extra things about Tae Takemi, the medical doctor/researcher person. One, in the menu it says "Takemi Medical Clinic", so she must run her own clinic, not affiliated with a hospital or the school. Two, the DNA strands. Is she doing genetic research on the side? Or did they just think it would look cool as part of the design?

I'm also wondering why the MC is on his own in the dungeon? Are the other party characters taking separate routes? We see them in anime form in the same casino dungeon together, so they must link up somehow. And why is the MC so inhumanly fast? Is this some genetic modification, or is this some Persona power that he can use at certain times?

I usually push for 60, but there's no reason for any SMT/Persona game to be 60fps.

so looking at the trailer, is that black and white/red color palette done there for the trailer? or is the game gonna actually look like that?

Well. It depends on how involved the platforming/stealth/action aspect is. That being said, it shouldn't make a significant difference either way.

Personally, I want 60 FPS myself on the PS4 version, but simply the in-game animations can shine. Nothing more. :p

The main color motifs are red with black/white as a secondary, and it'll likely be present through the game's opening (of which part of which is in the trailer), User Interface, and promotional material. That said, the actual in game footage is quite colorful. Look at the city after the logo, for example.

Isn't that typical of East Asian males?

Maybe, but I'd rather he be closer to 6ft. I have a hard time fearing/respecting a character who's 6 inches shorter than me. I'd rather they left the scale off, even though I know it was meant to stress the "police line-up" idea of this character being a criminal-type.

perhaps its a reference to the end of the trailer where the MC transforms? For example in this game they're utilizing some type of genetic modification techniques to merge or give humans the demons powers?

cool. I think it's cool looking for an intro, won't be too fond of it in the game's UI, but I can live with it.

also, does the trailer's music remind anyone of xiaoyu's tekken tag tournament stage?

Future pre-order cancelled!

Why are 2 of the main characters blonde? Are they both dying their hair?

Male guy looks like he is dying his hair. Girl doesn't.

Assumption is that male blonde is a delinquent choosing to take on the typical blonde dyed hair to be rebellious. Other assumption is that the girl is some sort of foreigner/non-Japanese descent (given her name may be Anne) and her seemingly natural blonde hair.

Oh, thanks. It just struck me as weird if they're both supposed to be Japanese.

I think the MC is in some variation of Velvet Room, not a dungeon.

Oh yeah, we got stealth and all that now. P5 shouldn't be that graphically taxing and assuming locations are close P3 and P4 scale, I think this game could get 60fps. It wouldn't disappoint if that wasn't the case though.

Well, maybe? But you can see a shadow/demon knight down at the end of the hall when he's speed-stealthing, so I kinda doubt this is part of the Velvet Room. Especially since when we see him in VR he's chained up.

And I think he was talking about the dungeon bits we saw where he was jumping around chandeliers and sneaking around. He was alone during those too. Not just during the literal dungeon (as in prison) that is the new Velvet room.

Maybe that is the opening of the game, or it could be that they got rid of your allies following you as it wouldn't work with the faster movement.
