J-Stars Victory Vs+ Announced For North America (PS3/PSV/PS4)

Bleach games were released by 2 different publisher (Sega and NISA) in the West, so it shouldn't be a problem.

The one character I would maybe be okay with cutting would be Yamada Taro, and that's only because I guarantee no one in America has any connection to him or his series. You could say series like Kochikame and Luckyman have zero presence in Americ as well, but I know that at least scanlations for them exist (that, and I can at least recognize Ryotsu and Luckyman from JSS/JUS).

That's the problem with everyone else. I guess I also wouldn't shed tears if Oga or Tsuna were cut since I think their respective series (Beelzebub/Reborn) are fairly mediocre, but obviously not everyone else feels the same way. Obviously removing big series like Yuyu Hakusho or Fist of the North Star would cause uproar but I know I'd be bummed if more obscure characters like Jaguar and the Sket Dan would be axed, so athe very least I'm hoping whoever's cut was removed only due to licensing issues and not because "hmmmmm yamada taro is too goofy and japanese"

I said Bleach because on PSP there were 7(SEVEN) awesome 3d fighters and one sidescroller, none of them was released here

But we at least got the two Treasure games, which were much better anyway. Plus a terrible Wii game and the most recent PS3 game, which was also not very good.

Maybe i missed them(not that i would have cared anyway, i wanted the PSP ones) but i have never seen a Bleach game in EU(or at least where i live and in the online shops i see)

Heat the Soul right? I remember playing the demo of them and not being terribly impressed. There was also an SRPG released in Europe as well. Guess it must have Sony's fault as SEGA seemed to do an okay job of releasing what they had.

Alright, embargo's over. I'm glad to reveal that I was wrong :D

Bamco somehow managed to fit every single J-Stars Victory Vs character into the Western version.

Here's video proof. Video's from a friend, but I'm the one being absolutely terrible.

Edit: I guess this is worthy of a new thread.

Wait, we are getting an All-Stars game?
I am excited, but shocked since we got none of the DS ones.

Edit: Nice roster, I am going to play as Bobobo for the lulz.

I somehow missed this thread back when it was first announced. Had NO idea this was coming to the west. And with all characters intact? I am impressed and amazed. Will buy this just to support titles like this coming here, even if the gameplay looks meh.

So is this game any good like Jump Superstars on DS or does it rely on the mashup as a crutch like Project X Zone?

Its really not a serious fighting game.

I'm getting it as I need a simple multiplayer game to mess around in during get togethers.
Also it has Kenshiro.

Gives all the fucks
I was planning on switching my pre-order from PS3 to Vita a few days ago (I was trying to remember why I chose PS3 when I figured I'd play it more if it was portable), but then I remembered the fact Vita is digital-only & I wanted the pre-order bonus.

Might have to wait a day to pick up my pre-order, as I can get a $25 gift card/certificate on July 1st, the day after this comes out. GS holds pre-orders for 48 hours, right? I can wait a day to pick it up?

So was the source wrong or did the licensing just work out somehow?
I would say the source might've just misheard or something. I remember the early promo art had everyone included for the most part. I would imagine if they didn't have the rights, they wouldn't advertise them as being in the game/use them for advertising.

Brazil's the source regarding the cuts so maybe he can chime in. But the way I understood it, it seemed like the cuts weren't set in stone at the start, probably because there were multiple issues and only so much budget with which to resolve them. If that was the case, then it's entirely possible Bamco got some of the prices down through negotiation and fixed things that way. Just my guess though.

It comes out later this month. After the SF4 fiasco, I am wondering if some gaffes might check this out to scratch that fighting game itch.

They don't all have to be serious tourney games to be played.

Its a different kind of itch than a fighting game itch that would have folks go for J Stars. The footsies are different and more akin to the mobile suit gundam arena fighters some got big into. I could see that crowd getting into this, but even still its battle mechanics are more about casual enjoyment than depth of balance. Its just fun so even then...its like Dynasty Warriors. Its got action, and fun stuff, but its not something you really compare to a fighter. Apples and oranges. Its fine, but if someone has an outright craving for a fighter on PS4 after that SF4 thing this won't really help them get over that. They'd play this just for funsies more than sating any fighting game needs.

Is this still coming out in Vita in the U.S.? I'm not seeing any information on its release and I notice that GameFAQs now only has a European release date listed. Although BAMCO USA's website has it listed for 6/30.
