Metal Gear Solid V to be released September 1st - Worldwide

No matter how mature you think you are, something like this makes your stomach uneasy at the first sight of it and then you get irrationally angry. Even after all the years of being an "adult", I still feel the total defeat of disappointment in regards to game release dates and game delays.

At least we have MKX and Batman Arkham Knight in the interim.

Still, September 1st as the MGSV:TPP release date is unexpected and to be honest, a little annoying. It's only 3 months from 2016 and when Kojima announced 2015 would be the release year last year, most everyone figured it wouldn't be late, late 2015.

Oh well. There's nothing we can do about it.

I agree 100%. I'm really disappointed, not just with the release date but with the way all the marketing was done. Only thing they achieved was deflate my hype.

Doubt it'll be buggy......they have so much time now to play test everything and make it as close to perfect as it can be.
This is Kojima we're talking about, not Ubijima

lol at Kojima saying this is his last Metal Gear. Didn't he say he was "not done with Solid Snake" in an interview a couple of years ago ? Hinting that he was disatisfied with his not dying at the end of MGS4 ?

i'm guessing release date, CE versions, more merchandise like toys and other goodies will be announced tomorrow. that's how they always like to sell their MGS stuff these days.

If this means more time to polish everything and make it even better then let them take their time. Rushed games seems to be a reocurring motif this gen, glad they aren't doing the same. For those of us who were hoping for a June release it kinda sucks but hey it's only 3 more months. It will be well worth the wait.

September is a very good month in the year. September is usually the start of the holiday season games, even though it's usually seen as end of October into November.

However, September is usually a really good month for games in terms of quality... at least from what I remember.

Dear me some of you guys are picky. September might not be perfect but it's hardly December, and knowing Konami almost all Metal Gear Solid games end up delayed anyway so it could have ended up next year, but with this being announced to be out in half a year it's probably quite unlikely to happen this time around. Chilllll.

Yeah, the hype is gone isn't it?

After I read what you wrote - I felt it - the lack of hype. I'll have to clear out my disappointment to make room for MGSV:TPP hype and that won't happen until August.

He had planned for Snake to die in MGS4 before scrapping the idea based on feedback or something.

I do actually think this might be his last MGS though, he's never repeated that fact so many times as he has done here.

The good news is it sounds like he's going all out and wants to end his directorial duties with a bang.

Need to start saving for all them special editions.

I guess the way you guys act can be considered a compliment towards the dev team. Don't know what else to tell you (that wouldn't hurt your feelings).
It is what it is. Just enjoy E3 and a couple of other games. You'll get through this buddy.

Disappointed it's so late but September 1st is a good date. Gives them time to do some beta test for MGO and market it properly to open the fall season.

And no doubt his focus will be in Silent Hills after this. We won't see a Kojima directed MGS for awhile

He will have to return eventually. Konami basically only has Metal Gear to rely on right now, as evidenced by the multi Plat cross gen release and Ground Zeroes.

In pleased with the date myself. I think it's perfect. Let the game take its time and be as good as it can be. Hopefully it will be good...

I will gladly take September 1st over anytime in November!

Here is to hoping this means PC version is coming out at the same time.
