Ok so I just beat the game and got what I assume is the crap ending. Can someone please explain to me exactly what the significance of what happened there (post-boss)?

My decoy bomb > machine pistol with fire attributes > magnum loves a speeded scagdead. Bitch has no chance!

you don't need all of that, just shoot them in the legs

i probably should've mentioned it whenever i found out but their stun point is actually their legs. by a lot.

i'd record a video of it but fraps seems to force the game to a crawl whenever i try

Okay, so something I want to point out about this shot, two things actually.

01.) That looks like the beach from Revelations 1, the one where you fight the glob monsters.

02.) I first thought this had to be Raid Mode, but there's one of Moira's crowbar boxes to the left there, so this has to be something for the campaign.

Maybe there's a new mode being introduced.

I wish I got the good ending. I don't know if I'm missing something with the bad ending or if it was really just as abrupt as it seemed.
The bad ending:
You got this ending because at the end of Claire's Episode 3, when she was pinned by Neil, you had Claire shoot Neil, instead of switching to Moira and shooting Neil with Moira.

To understand the ending, you have to understand what Alex was trying to do. Alex copied her mind to a computer, and then from the computer to Natalia. She then killed herself, since her original body was ill. The idea is that the original Alex would commit suicide and the new Alex would awaken as Natalia and carry on her will from there... until a new body was needed. And then the process would repeat itself, finding a new vessel.

However, at the moment Alex killed herself, she felt fear. This triggered the t-Phobos virus in her. She was convinced she had mastered fear, and took the virus to demonstrate her mastery. But since she feared for her life at the moment of her death, the t-Phobos triggered and transformed her into a monster.

So now there are TWO Alex Weskers — the original one, transformed into a monster, and the copy of Alex's mind that exists inside Natalia. A note in the game indicates it will take about six months for Alex's mind to overpower Natalia's. As you know, Barry's half of the story takes place six months after the mind transfer...

So the monster Alex is desperately trying to kill the clone Alex by killing Natalia. "True or false. You are false, and I am true." She even mentions in a note, right before the final battle, how she knows the Alex inside of Natalia is laughing at how hideous the original Alex has become.

So the monster Alex attacks and squeezes the life out of Natalia... and kills Natalia... but this activates the t-Phobos in Natalia, and since she did not feel fear, she receives godlike powers instead of mutating. She rips the Uroboros core out of the monster Alex, killing her. And then she mocks Barry, who can't bring himself to shoot the now Alex-possessed Natalia. Barry has come to love Natalia like a daughter over the course of their adventure.

So that's the bad ending. It's short and to the point. Still very interesting.

I won't spoil what happens in the good ending, but suffice it to say, it's MUCH longer. There's an extra boss fight. There's a new setting. There are many great character moments. Many things happen. Then you have a feel-good send-off for the characters. Then the credits. Then an epilogue sequence, back in North America, set during the events of RE6. And then you have a hint of where the series may be going next.

Again, to get the good ending, switch to Moira when the game prompts you at the end of Claire's Episode 3. You can replay Claire's Episode 3 and then skip straight to Barry's Episode 4. You can even do it on casual. You can even ignore all of the enemies in Claire's Episode 3 except for the boss at the end. It's easy to do, and well-worth it to experience the good ending, which not only has more scenes, but also more gameplay. :)

Damn had no idea the retail version was already out. Gonna go grab a copy now. Any idea why the retail PS4 version of this is more expensive than the others?

Xbox One and Ps3 are $69 AUS and the Ps4 version is $89 AUS.

Also all those prices seems unusually expensive, I thought this was a budget game and was not being released at full price let alone $10 more than most games (games usually cost $79 AUS).

EDIT: Sorry my bad, Xbox One and Ps4 both selling for $89.00. Gonna go grab it.

Well, in the U.S. at least, the complete season (four episodes + two extra episodes + Hunk in Raid) is like $25, if I recall correctly. But Wesker, the four special costumes, the Throwback Map, etc., are all extra. The retail version includes all of the extra DLC, alongside the complete season. Hence the reason it costs more than the complete season by itself.

Is there much fun to be had in single player mode? Any classic Resident Evil gameplay? Like proper survival horror where you're just walking around exploring creepy locales with a good balance of exploration and combat?

Don't have much on this weekend so it would be awesome to have a nice game to sink my teeth into. Especially a good Resident Evil game which is basically my fave style of game if it is done properly (basically every main game in the series barring 6 was awesome imo).

Does anyone else think the "russian music" in episode
3
was damn scary? The whole time I thought: Fuck, I want to get the hell out of here, lol.

Yes! It's more like RE 4 but fewer enemies. Still linear though. Great atmosphere, some puzzles and a good story actually.

That's pretty much all there is to the game. So yes.

Thinking of picking this up. Is it any good guys? How does it compare to the classic Resident Evil games? Camera angles aside. Not a fan of the action packed RE games.

=)

For anyone that loved a certain costume you can unlock the emblem on RE.net.
Noticed I had REmake Chris(CV version) and Rebecca emblems unlocked from completing REmaster as well.

Barry and the Overseer are especially confusing.
It's pretty blatantly obvious that Michael McConnohie played Barry and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn played Overseer, which makes the use of pseudonyms pretty odd in their case.

I took some screenshots of the hot new look a certain character has at the end. Reminds me of
Ada Wong, Helena Harper, and Scarlett Johansson circa The Avengers
rolled into one.

Did anyone notice that they messed up the end credits?

Talk about a miscast.

Capcom did not mess up anything. These are all aliases.

Claire's is actually Ali Hillis.
Alex's is in fact Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, that's one of her more used aliases.

Try googling any of them, you won't find ANY information about them.. because these people don't exist.

Holy shit, episode 1 was great. If RE5 or Evil Within
or RE4
were like this, the world would've been a better place. This feels much more like the natural evolution of survival horror than all the others (within the realm of modern gaming).
Hope they keep it up, even though the ep2 preview looked like it might possibly drop the ball.

Sandwich gag was also great. And some of those Barry lines... amazing. Also, thank god the partner characters don't really talk that much.

I'm really pleased with how this game turned out. There were plenty of reasons to hate it- the cheap visuals, the shameless theft of mechanics from other games, the microtransactions, the PC splitscreen debacle, the heavy recycling of RE6 content- but the game turned out to be a lot of fun in spite of all of that.

It also has one of my favorite tracks in all the series (chapter end theme): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqX0V-Q4czw

I didn't have much confidence in RE7, but as long as they build on this approach and forget about RE6 it should turn out great.
