Nice new screen
User is dreaming if he/she thinks the fur on the render will end up in the main game.
Nice new screen
Nice new screen .. they even fixed those brick walls
Anyway, today in the forums:
Yeah, that new screenshot looks fantastic.
Anyway, I tried to tell people that it was a frost or icy effect that was making the textures look weird in that Wild Hunt screenshot, but people tried to insist it was evidence of a downgrade.
I just pray and pray that this doesn't get pushed back again. This is the first game in my entire stupid life that I have hoped for not to do so.
I'm ready to be Geralt once again, man. You don't even know.
And another game gets chromatic aberration. Fucking hell. q
In the villain portrait there. Massive amount of it.I know what chromatic aberration is, and it's really obvious to me in some games, but I don't see it here. Where are you looking?

You realize that's a marketing render, not a screenshot from the game, right?
It's from the game.

It may be in-game assets, but it's actually a marketing render. This one:
I haven't seen any evidence of chromatic aberration in the game itself.
I don't think their answer really assuages any of the poster's fears. The fur is still going to be that fur, "ice effect" or not.
I'm excited for this game, and I really do not care about the graphics, but the only thing that's been putting me off is CDPR's quick responses to everything in a way that doesn't necessarily feel genuine. I'd prefer more honesty than deflection.

Like I said, go back a page and look at the skin on the dead dwarf thing on the table. You will be able to see some odd blue and red coloring...
Then again the guy is trying to compare a in-game model to a render, that's outright stupidity. If someone is really silly enough to compare the two and think there's been some kind of visual cutback because the in-game model doesn't look like a render, then you're never going to be happy.
A note on the fur though, whilst the in-game fur probably won't look as good as the render (For obvious reasons stated above) all the footage with Caranthir has been WITHOUT Hairworks. So his little shawl thing there will definitely look a little nicer once you chuck Hairworks on.
Everywhere
Everywhere
I don't see it there either.

Haha. Me neither!
Look at whites. Always look at whites.
one side of a white highlight area has a blue line, the other side of a white area has a red outline. CA.

Ok. I see it in this one. I was looking at that "Everywhere" shot. Are you able to spot it on that one too?
You don't know what I know, you don't know what my 10 playthroughs of TW1 and TW2 and I know. You don't even know.
Yes, I agree that the poster asked a weird question. That said, why didn't CDPR point that out? Instead, they kind of furthered the belief that the game will match the render, not the screenshot.
This is what I mean. They need to be more honest and open in their answers. Leaving interpretations open only opens up the door for outlandish expectations.
Yeah it is the same there too. Just look at the colors and how often you see blue and red tones with in them. Look at the thatch roof in the top right corner.
The CA in those screenshots is not nearly as bad as it could be. I've seen far worse offenses. I think I'll be able to live with it if there's no way to disable it.
Anyway, what the Witcher games have really great, are the armors (or clothes) in them
Some of them look fucking amazing
Edit: they are not official, but still worth the look

Maybe. I see a few spots that might show the effect, but it's subtle and definitely not found in every area you would expect it. Some of the bright rim highlights don't seem to show the effect at all.

At least that game lets you turn it off.
The CA is definitely there, but it doesn't really bother me. I think I need like Lords of the Fallen levels to really bother me. That game has a nauseating look to it.
Lol, my 780 Ti absolutely destroys the game maxed at 1080p. You're either over exaggerating or your PC has problems.
Fresh breaking news.
Thank goodness. If you don't like CA, you best be playing on PC.
And the rest of us are just stuck with it, then?
And that's not even a performance thing that "consoles don't need".. CA is free, it's purely cosmetic, and the toggle should be in all versions.
