Got my Gurumin key :D

So great of them to keep their promise. They didn't have to either considering Valve has frowned upon that type of process.

For you.
It's supposed to be. Apparently kinda like Ys. Remember good things about it back on the psp.

I don't think I could survive with just indies. noe that I think about it. I don't recall beating all that much when my laptop was all I had.
I did play a AAA last year on my better laptop, Shadow of Mordor. It ran surprisingly well after fiddling around with Nvidia control center settings a bit. Ended up playing it on a mix of medium settings with low at a stable 30fps for most part.

This laptop plays Pillars of Eternity just fine so I'm set for a bit at least.

Thanks but I already own it :p

So what mystery game did you win...and can your laptop play it?

Edit: Never mind, I see it.

Got Valkyria Chronicles at the weekend... my 300th game on Steam! I was actually holding back of redeeming some games and I wanted to hold until Trails 2nd was released but since the Gurumin hype is real and I don't a free key to be my 300th game lol.

Also, VC is one of my favorite PS3 games of all time, so it deserves that spot.

It's a little surprising to see that R6 Siege already has a store page. It's so far away that Ubi hasn't even made region-specific subs yet, haha.

That's good at least. One of the benefits of these new games in old styles among others.
Dead or Alive is a damn good series of fighting games.

but lets be real, they know where the money is at and it aint with the fighting game crowd.

It's a shame I wish it wasn't about the skin.

Some quick impressions for Gurumin

  • Native xinput and dinput support
  • Keyboard controls aren't awful
  • Every key for a gamepad or the kb/m are rebindable to your heart's content
  • The game feels choppy even with vsync on (i5 4670k/970)
  • It feels blurry even with the blur off
  • It feels like it's rendering below 1920x1080

The screenshot is on the maximum possible settings. I'll be messing around with .ini files if I can find anything and with Nvidia control panel to see what I can do.

Evolve got a 7GB update adding Behemoth and the 4 new characters. Those who pre-ordered the game will get Behemoth. What about theose who pre-ordered the basic version? Will they get the 4 other characters with Behemoth too? Also still no Nvidia GameWorks update. I hope they update Evolve for Mobile with the new monsters and hunters.

It should look better, though. That the PS3 version was chosen doesn't make any sense, although at least it runs well.

Obviously yeah, but the general benefits of simply being on PC make it at least a worthwhile product that still looks great. If you take is on it's own as is, it's an appealing product.

Only thing that is probably changed in photoshop is lightning. Everything else is in game. Textures are simple, geometry is simple so it is not far away from reality.

I think you might be giving Ubi too much credit since they've done bullshots in the past.

Well, yeah, I wasn't implicitly arguing that it should be avoided because it's not an ideal port.

Well assets in that screenshots speak for itself :D Generally from videos i saw assets are simple. There is no too much details and they are choosing materials with simple textures. Most of those textures are diffuse map only (no normal maps). Also geometry is also simple. Particle effects will probably be nice and flashy bat that is it. 10% of those wall parts will stay on the map, 90% will disappear before they reach ground :D
