Saw this on Square Enix's YouTube channel and couldn't see any thread about it - sorry if one has been made.

While a 3D Final Fantasy IV remake came to the DS, it never came with the After Years, meaning you had to get the 2D PSP release if you wanted to play it. The After Years was then developed for iOS and Android in 3D, like the DS games, and released in 2013. Now it is coming to Steam.

I have the Android version, but it runs like shit at like 15 FPS. It's hilarious that the double speed autobattle is nothing more than the game running at 30 FPS. Hope that the Steam version is a little better.

Someone can confirm me that this 3d remake of after year have the same difficulty increase as the 3D remake on the original on DS ? Because the Complete edition on the PSP the after year was a little too easy.

V and VI will probably be on Steam by June 2016, judging by the speed of their ports so far.

This game had surprisingly excellent music, but there are differences between the ios/android and the PSP version, and I prefer the PSP version more so I hope they went with that one...

You're forgetting the WiiWare version that came out in 2009.

Except V and VI don't have "flashy" (I use those quotes derisively) versions like IV does. If they ported them to PC, they'd probably just be copies of the gross-looking mobile versions.

I guess if it meant I could play them with a controller that'd be nice, but given that I can already play the original and best versions on PC via emulator, I'm not sure I'd see the point.

It's pretty annoying as much as I did like FFIV. They should make a 3D version of FFVI for the 3DS or something.

They did the same with FFXIII and FFXII-2. The latter was the only one that had useful new features in terms of settings at launch, while FFXIII got that stuff patched in. I'd be dubious of all FF ports at this point

FF4 on Steam is one of the worst ported games I've ever seen. Unresponsive controls, horrible UI, the ugliest font I've ever seen (with lots of lines outside of the letters), and it frequently drops to 15 fps. It doesn't fill me in confidence for FF4: After Years on Steam.
