I think this is realistic.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 wll be holiday 2010.
E3 2010 will premiere the Zelda Wii trailer, and 2011 will see its release.
SMG2 will be March. Mark my words.

Search is disabled, so I can't find the thread (it's several years old). Basically, camineet has an obsession with the game Nectaris/Military Madness. He posted a thread about it, and I guess he wasn't getting enough conversation in it because he used several of his accounts to keep the thread going. :lol

Quick and handy guide to identifying camineet on the net:

Obsessed with Nectaris/Military Madness (also Herzog Zwei)
Likes to talk hardware, especially the 16-bit era and Saturn/DC transition
Tends to make usernames based on the above, like handygrafx, superpcenginefx, AM2spritescaler, megadrive1988, etc.

It's actually very easy to recognize him. :lol

That would be crazy to get Galaxy 2, Metroid, and Zelda in the same year.
Yeah, like 2002 crazy.

BTW, I was saving this for E3 and forgot about it; I guess the Zelda Wii announcement is as good a time as any to break it out:

He dodges the Zelda issue by simply saying we have nothing to show yet which basically means we are not revealing the game yet but heres some art to show you what we are doing

zelda wii is probably well along in development.

pretty sure they just don't want to put their eggs in one basket.

Yeah, now that I think about it I'd rather Link be revealed uniquely than try to compete with Mario. The Conference was for Mario and this Roundtable is for Legend of Zelda

Wow, the possibilities....but we got so long before we see anything. Next E3 probably

So, since we know that it's at least well into development, I'd say there's a good chance we either see it at the Japanese conference later this week or at their October event.

I think this.

GAH!

7:15 p.m.: Q: Question about making New Super Mario Bros. Wii hard in the same way that the Japanese build of SMB2 was hard.

A: "We really want these games to be enjoyed by such a wide variety of people so that's really a tough challenge for us."

PR bs

Guys guys guys... this is Nintendo we're talking about. The Legend of Zelda: The Potbellied Years, could be fully playable back in Japan complete with final boss and credit scroll.

But I'm suspecting that this Zelda will be for X-mas 2010. Metroid M and Galaxy 2 are epic games but they're not the all-out gotta-grab-everyone titles Nintendo reserves for Christmas. I'd expect 2010 to lay out like this:

- Super Mario Galaxy 2: April, for the hardcore who buy games any time of the year

- Metroid M: July, for the average core-ish but not necessarily Nintendo Fanboy gamer who picks up edgy, action-packed games for the summer months.

- Zelda OMG Teh Mature Wii: November, for the big sales - they hope - that Twilight Princess failed to ignite.

I wouldn't be surprised if while this new Zelda is "mature" in that it has older characters, it's going to have some universal element to make it appeal to more than just the Nintendo faithful or the hardcore gamers. Maybe it will be part of an evolution of the Wii branding, promoting Zelda as mature and grown-up in the sense of a widely popular adult fantasy film like The Lord of the Rings.

A: "We really want these games to be enjoyed by such a wide variety of people so that's really a tough challenge for us." That being said, for the people who do require that kind of challenge, Miyamoto and team do have some things in store with regard to the game. "There will be areas that I hope are difficult enough for everyone," he says.

I sure hope there are at least 10-15 levels that are of the exxxxxtreme difficulty nature. :D

Nah

2002: Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, and Zelda: Wind Waker

versus

2010: Metroid: Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2(with Yoshi) and Zelda Wii 2

One looks more heavy hitting than the other.....

Well there was Star Fox Adventures too in 2002...

What is this October event people keep mentioning?

Its basically Nintendo's actual game conference

Last year DSi, Punch Out Wii, S&P 2 and Mario and Luigi 3 were announced and shown

Doesn't Nintendo usually hold an event for Japanese retailers in October ?
Two or three years ago I remember a shitload of DS titles being unveiled out of the blue around that time.

Twilight Princess was the best selling Zelda game since Ocarina of Time.

My guess is that it will be similar to New Super Mario Bros DS but possibly refined based off feedback

ie. you can breeze-through to the games conclusion if you want, but you'd miss different paths, big coins, objectives - stuff like that.

Luigis Purple Coins wasn't mandatory -- but it was a damn good challenge. As long as they put challenge in somewhere, I'm happy.

As for Zelda -- I really really hope the art doesn't suck. I want to love it the way I loved Wind Waker, not the way I loved Twilight Princess.

Q: Any plans to support WiiSpeak in any of the games announced at E3?

A: "We really would like to implement WiiSpeak more. Every game we're working on, we think, hey, would this be a good vehicle for this?" Unfortunately, it hasn't made it in as much as they'd like.

Would it kill them to even try?

I really think Metroid will be a Fall 2010 title.
