I hope this is true but very much doubt it, Activision would be leaving money on the table and at this fairly early stage of the current generation cycle, they have nothing to gain in moving people from past to current generation. The last generation games cost just as much after all.

Actually, I see it as people liking the old play style, head to head fire fights at choke points. I know where you are and you know where I am. Lets get it on. After Ghost then AW, I know many people are sick and tired of getting constantly shot from behind. Sounds like, BO3 is heading down the same shit hole.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was still coming to PS3/360.
Maybe they are just "doing a Wii U" in regards to a COD reveal for PS3/Xbox360. Just not bothering to announce,talk about or promote them... instead they'll just silently sneak them out with few details. The first look we'll get is from someone who actually buys the game.

Pretty much. They're going to heavily push current gen versions of the game and we may not even hear about a last gen version for quite some time but it'll launch on November 6th alongside the PS4/XB1/PC SKUs.

Still about a year too early to try and force the issue, I think. Leaving a few hundred thousand unit sales on the table to convince consumers to upgrade probably isn't the smartest thing that ATVI could do here.
I mean, sure... some fence-sitters would probably take the plunge and drop the significant investment for a new console, but others likely wouldn't. What's an acceptable number of consumers who reject you and therefore lower your revenue?

To be fair, that's probably XB1 footage, and AW was farmed out to another dev for last gen development, so Sledgehammer were only making the current gen version anyway.
I think that's the best we can expect for 1080p 60fps for COD, its a lot better than sub HD, with barely 60fps like last gen

And as always don't buy it on PC its going to be turd
- No Server browser
- No rent-able servers
- No private Servers
- Artificial Latency(40-50 extra latency for no reason)
- No mods
- No no fov slider
- 90 FPS cap.

Considering there's the "Only on Playstation" label on PS4 SKU's cover, maybe there's more. What if they're not just pulling a "Nintendo COD", but a..."Assassin's Creed"? Basically, PS3/360/Wii U get a different game compared to Black Ops III. Didn't this happen already, years and years ago, with a COD game?

It matters only in the sense that this will sell a TON of PS4 and Xbox1's if it's current gen only.
I feel like its less true now. Sure the 360 was heavily tied to cod, but i don't feel like its that way with the xbone. To now not have the next cod on 360 I just cant see MS letting Sony get the marketing deal and possibly even timed exclusivity for dlc considering the PS4 is absolutely dominating the xbone in sales.
Its fairly indisputable that many 360 owners moved to ps4 as well.

Depending on the publisher, it isn't any gen. It would be nice to see if there is one released for similarly powered consoles, but we won't know anything for a bit. Maybe some info regarding that will come.out today, but I expect it to be all about the PS4 and Xbox today

Even if Black Ops III is current-gen only, I think people are assuming too much about what that would mean for the game. If Advanced Warfare is any indication, the main team won't even touch last gen consoles or be told that they can't do something because PS3 and 360 can't handle it.
In all likelihood, it's still going to look like CoD, maybe a little nicer than Advanced Warfare.

I dunno.. COD can move consoles at this point. If you create a product that can generate hype and appeal enough, people will be willing to make the jump.

The beta is next gen only, and Treyarch isnt working on the previous gen versions. i believe this is where the confusion is coming from.

No it did not. It is PR-talk, but they use the same old engine with the same old flaws. Damn their marketing is really good, because I read that crap everywhere.
