Title screens are one of those gaming elements that have been around since the days of arcades and, while we were once almost always greeted by something like this before we play:

...we've definitely come a long way since then. So, what are some of your favorite video game title screens? Do you like something more neutral, like above, and just want to get straight into the game? Or do you prefer something more atmospheric that gets you in the right mindset for the what you're about to play? I definitely fall into the latter and, as expected an answer as it is, I'd have to go with:

Kingdom Hearts
I feel like a lot of games have tried to adopt this style since the original KH came out and it's easy to see why. It's one of those sections of a game you just sit at so you can listen to the beautiful music, in this case provided by Yoko Shimomura. I was tempted to put Xenoblade Chronicles as my pick, but I feel like it's an evolution of this one and I do remember being so charmed by Kingdom Hearts from the get-go, largely in part to this great opening.

Aside from Metroid Prime title screen, I always thought Zone of the Enders was pretty haunting, and cool looking.

I wish there was a PS4/Xbone theme that was just basically this, and changed the lighting based on what time of day just like it is in-game.

Also honorable mentions to Halo 4 and Halo Reach for having nice art and interface while keeping the screen clean and very far from cluttered.

Bravely Second has the most badass use of a title screen ever.

The title screen is an actual plot point during the final battle. The game tricks you into thinking you have a game over, and then the main character slices through the title screen and uses the extra letters in the game's subtitle to use the bravely second ability. So amazing.
