10 gigs of data packs?! Damn, I need help figuring out external hard drives. My 32 gig model is full from just DKC:TF

Question for those who are playing. They said that your dolls can be destroyed, and are costly. Is it something like RPG weapon degredation, where you simply repair and very rarely ever get them destroyed, or a genuine concern to watch out for? Sorry if this was answered in a treehouse/direct, I've been avoiding most spoiler threads.

Could have sworn it was. I've gotten two friendrequests so far, and iYakku looked me up using that, so I dunno. Do I have to set some thing to public? I'm not too familiar with the 'miiverse' thing itself.

Made it to NLA, getting ready to upload muh videos.

Well that might be it then. I only tried looking you up on Miiverse. If you have not set that up than it won't show you in search results. Just hop onto the friend list menu and go to the settings there and look how you have set it up.

It can be destroyed in battle. Just like your car can get destroyed from driving accident :( so take good care of it.

Normal battle damage auto-repairs without cost. You're only in trouble if they actually get DESTROYED. Then the insurance triggers three times and starting with the fourth time you'll have to pay. But as we learned in the Iwata Asks, there is also an insurance-insurance, meaning if you eject at just the perfect time while your Doll gets destroyed, it gets repaired for free, too, without consuming one insurance use.

Takahashi
From there, the "Skell insurance" idea was created, and there's also an "insurance on insurance" system, too.

Iwata
An "insurance on insurance" system?

Takahashi
This system is that if you push the button at the right time to abort when the Skell's HP becomes zero and is destroyed, the Skell will be fixed without having to use insurance.

Iwata
So that's why it's an "insurance on insurance"! (laughs)

Kojima
Yes. (Makoto) Shimamoto-san14 in our staff is the lead battle designer, and he's a very kind man, unlike me.

Iwata
I see. (laughs)

Kojima
And I strictly told him to just let the Skell break when it was destroyed...but he added the "insurance on insurance" function without my consent.

All
(laughs)

Takeda
I'm not a skilled player, so for me someone like him is worthy of worship! (laughs)

Kojima
Just remember that this feature came solely from his kindness.

Takeda
Sure! (laughs)

How playable is this game if you have no knowledge of Japanese or kanji? So on the fence on this. If I want it now I'll have to shell out around 520 euros. I have a lot of disposable income but that's quite ridiculous.

I would not recommand it.
For example, the menu is pretty text heavy.
Many westerns streamers I saw struggled, some they even couldn't figure out the camera controls, lol.

I am absolutely psyched for this game.

It's a damn shame that I can't join the hype with you guys, but I want to know next to nothing about this game. That Treehouse footage was all I needed.

Oh ok, so really just pay attention to it, but don't freak out over it then I guess. Thanks.

Thanks Chaos and Kanann! I'm just going to show restraint. I'm gonna look for a cheaper alternative to get my mecha fix for now to tide me over till the western release.

Well its a RPG after all, even if the gameplay is amazing, it kinda beats the point if you dont understand any of the story :p

Oh you tease...

Art style can go a long way to assure a great looking world, but I cant imagine the work they had to create all this and make it feel natural. When Takahashi-san said that this game is the crystallized blood and tears of Monolith Soft, I can completely believe him.

Btw I still think this is the ending song but has anyone reached the end yet? I hope it is, because it's so good :x

The screenshoot is not even direct feed!

Its because X is one of the most ambitious Wii U games and had a high budget, in the end the machine is rarely used well, even by Nintendo, but when you see games like Mario Kart 8 runing at 60 (59) fps , and you look at the character models, its no huge surprise Xenoblade X looks good,

Games with a lot of cutscenes like this kind of mitigate that a bit. Seeing things unfold and with what kind of emotion people react gives you a general gist of things. Just no details:) Biggest thing for me is exploration and mech customization but this game is so huge a lot would probably get lost. But I would have gotten the western release for that:) Still, even I can't justify shelling out that much cash for one game. But the hype is making it hard. This is basically my dream game, my niche. Everything I ever wanted out of a game.

Yea I find it weirder that people are surprised by this. I guess being fed nonsense from trolls over the years does that. :/

This game is beautiful. Can't wait for my US release. Avoiding as much videos and spoilers as possible.

It's so hard, isn't it? The game looks so good... I don't want any spoilers, but the wait for the English version will be unbearable. Well, at least we'll have the soundtrack in May.

Surprised and excited that NoA is releasing so much XCX content and tweeting about it.

"Are you ready for #XenobladeChroniclesX?"

Yes. I need it now!

Pretty sure someone will rip it from the disc any day soon and put it on youtube for us to listen to.

But yeah, official OST release is in May

At least what I got from the Iwata Asks, the budget wasnt all that high.
Iwata: "It's quite understandable that there is such high anticipation for this game, especially after you've accomplished quite a bit in the last game Xenoblade Chronicles. So I'm assuming that you've challenged yourselves with the limited time and budget to create something that players will be satisfied with."
But I might just be reading too much into it :p

That screenshot just inspired me to play the game's introduction cut scene of Primordia to the theme music of Jurassic Park.

Found some higher res images posted on twitter, they do suffer a bit from twitter compression but they still look pretty good.

no i cant believe the budget was low
lower compared to some AAA games today yes, low to Nintendo? would be surprised if they created this massive game full of content with something resembling a low budget for a videogame =O

The voice acting alone must be very expensive, especially with the new Avatar., they even needed one and a half year for the script. then again Xenoblade 1 was described as an "experiment" not something truly ambititous.
