Witcher 3 gameplay from YouTubers from CDPR event

So XboxOne footage today and Ps4 footage next week?

I really dont get what takes so long to release some console footage. The game is Gold for almost 2 weeks.

I can record and create a video in one day.

They already showed enough PC footage. Its about time to show what every consumer gets on the platform they prefer.
I hate this bullshitting marketing.

Well obv, I want every consumer to be able to see what the version they are interested in buying looks like, I just assume that's their rationale for showing the PC version all the time.

And you will see it before release date. Why such a rush to preorder? It's only natural to show the game at it's best first.

They have a deal with Microsoft, so they can't show PS4 version before Xbone... But Xbone version wasn't presentable yet (frame-rate, etc). Certainly is very curious so close to game release and no console footage.

Interesting claim, sources on that?

Everyone is taking that little comment from Gamespot's series where he mentioned that they were not done optimizing Framerate yet so it couldn't be shown, so my guess is he said it isn't presentable based on a comment on an old build. People in the other threads kept saying "I hope framrate is okay" but the game literally wasn't even finished so back off that comment. People make it sound like it is some unforeseen struggle, when really it just wasn't done yet on consoles and that was part of it.

And BioWare showed PS4 screens before Xbox for Inquisition during their final media blowout, so I don't know where he got that either. Technically, we've seen Xbox One already.

What, every retail copy is getting a free soundtrack plus 3 more other sets of things with every standard copy? That's pretty awesome of CDPR to include.
Gamespot's 3-part video series about the Wild Hunt and CDPR's history kind of touched on why they do stuff like that. Wish more developers followed suit.

Didn't Gamespot guy in that video also mention that at time of the recording they were 2 months away from release date of May 19th? Some framerate hitching and pacing issues could be fixed within that timeframe, and most likely was fixed before Gold announcement.

Yeah, pretty ridiculous they're squeezing all those extras in the box when the most anyone else will include is a little leaflet begging you to buy some other game.

I feel like they downgraded Yennefer's design compared to this:

They changed the design, the first image one is not how Yeneffer has to look.
Hair is too brown, face is too young.

The new one is the Yeneffer you can describe mentally when reading the books. She looks perfect.

People need to know the difference here between design change and downgrade.

To be fair, the hair looks less complex to execute the design of now. I prefer the new design.

But then we are yet to see her with HairWorks enabled so that can do wonders on her hair. For some reason this made me think that Nvidia really needs to do some L'Oréal style of ad for HairWorks :D

Yennefer doesn't have some much curls in the hair either. She looked like a random supermodel in the first image released.
I liked it at first becuase she looked good looking, but I always had a problem with the hair (the bunch of curls, and why the fuck did it look so brown when its discribed always as jet gemstone color).
Now everything changed for the better, becuase it was an artistic decission.
I dont really understand this less complex thing? Do you REALLY think it took too many polygons to do that hair and thats why they took it out?
Sorry, but Ubisoft has made some of you a little paranoid.

More like W3 has turned you into one of the salty defense mafia.

I didn't say it was too complex before, I'm pointing out that the old hair is indeed more complex, however, which should make some viewers' sense that it was downgraded easy to understand.

And next month it will flip flop and we won't see any footage of Batman on Xbox One. I hate how the industry is these days. :(

Yeah, no one has seen or played the XBO version of that game. Its like it doesnt exist. At least in this case CDPR has let press people play all 3 versions, they are releasing footage of both console games prior to launch, theyve already sent out PS4 review copies, and the review embargo seems to be up the week before release.

Not really the actions of a company trying to hide something.

I think it's more plausible that all Witcher threads on GAF have turned into nitpicky shit shows about grass and the amount of curls.
There's a conspiracy to pick on W3. All these users commenting on the visuals can't be that it really has lost aesthetic appeals or experienced downgrades in some ways. It can't be that it has elements that are not as impressive as its other current gen peers to many players. Okay.

I get it if the compromise between the game's budget and scope keeps you from being anything less than impressed by what they've come up with. That doesn't make the responses to the visuals, especially on a more detailed level, invalid.

But I think it's also reasonable to understand that not everyone likes it when basically every Witcher 3 thread gets derailed into pages worth of arguing over which game has most realistic blades of grass with least aliasing happening on them. There really should be dedicated thread for that stuff so other threads wouldn't get derailed into that fighting and arguing.

Never said they were invalid, but creating an uproar over ultimately miniscule details makes me question, if some Gaffers actually enjoy playing games, or if they are just out to spot the next big "downgrade".

And real talk, at this point it's just supremely annoying.

edit: What Tovarisc said.

As someone who makes games I will not only defend the witcher 3, but any other game that isn't really downgraded and most of the changes are artistic decissions more than anything else, and comes some random guy in a forum who doesnt understand how things work and cries downgrade everytime he has the chance because ubisoft has sour his mouth and thinking capacity.
No salty defense mafia here, only reasonable thinking.

Not saying the witcher 3 is not downgraded in some places, but things like Yennefer's model are obvious to people who think for a second and read a few more comments trying to learn why that changed instead of just spouting the first thing it comes to their minds.
I dont know everything, and thats why, if I dont undertand something and want to get inside the conversation, so i dont look like an idot to the rest of people in that conversation, I usually inform myself.

I so wish I could play the game with the same amount of AA as the screenshots have. But I'm afraid my GTX 970 won't be enough to achieve no jaggies at a steady 60 fps.
