Finally grinded my way to IB rank 5 last night with just a few hours to spare, and got me Timur's Lash. Read a few "best rolls" pages for it, and I think I got a pretty damn good one after spending just 8 motes on rerolls.

Can anyone confirm, or should I reroll again next time IB rolls around?

Yeah I can join up, just send an invite when you're ready. Nah, NF hasn't dropped anything good for me for ages, it gave me Deviant Gravity-A for about the 50th time and teased me with a Alpha Lupi drop that was for a Hunter rather than the Titan I need it for.

I'm out for tonight, unfortunately. I upgraded my internet package and of course, something's wrong. The soonest I can get someone out to my place is Thursday, so I'll have to keep an eye out for pick up groups later this week

So having reached level 12, I thought I'd share some thoughts on how I'm finding the game now I'm over halfway to level 20:

1) The moment-to-moment combat is very, very fun. Despite the cookie cutter mission design (hold square at point of interest, defend wave of enemies) I'm genuinely surprised how much I'm enjoying it. The weapons I'm using are satisfying (particularly my sniper rifle) and all of the enemies seems to have a decent amount of 'toughness' to them - even when I'm overleveled.

2) I'm not feeling too underleveled in PvP. My first game of Control sucked - I got zero kills and was getting one-shotted by levels 30s all over the place. Coming back at level 12 seems to have made a difference: I'm defeating said levels 30 one-on-one and I don't feel like there's that big of a gap anymore. I'm actually contributing to my team now.

3) Finally, the story is opaque and at times incomprehensible. I think the comparisons to Halo are particularly relevant here: as I've heard others say, at least Halo was grounded with the military outside of the Covenant and the Forerunners and the associated lore. Destiny up to
Venus
has been incredibly abstract, not really contextualising enemies or what even important figures like the Traveller are beyond a swift introduction. Outside of defeating The Darkness at some point by
going to a garden
I'm not sure where the story is heading. This, for me, is the most disappointing aspect of the game given Bungie's history.

Overall I'm enjoying the game at this stage. I'm glad I held off from buying around launch and I'm looking forward to House of Wolves apparently reducing the grind and adding more content. In the relatively near future I'm hopeful of joining in one of Hawkians newbie raids too.

So new horde gear has special animations when aiming down sights?

Wonder if the light effects will give you away in pvp.

Excited to see the reveal tomorrow.

Now to get a team ready to go for it. First, we would need to complete the story missions which wouldn't take long if we do it together.

"Survive"? Oh man, I wonder which person will spawn with the can opener, and which will spawn with the lighter.

Real talk though, I love Horde Modes. The last two weeks of reveals have been really neat, hopefully this one ends up looking just as good.

Count me in for the 9:30 crew. I can take over for confirming that group if you want. looks like Kinezo is out and Rasengan is in, so that should fill out that group, unless I missed something.

I need me some of both, though at 31 I'm still a lil shy of HM, so if a NM starts coming together count me in. Aside from having to step away for a few short periods, I should be available for a while.
