I love some creed myself, I think it follows the Windows model though - good one, bad one, good one.. Hopefully this will be the next proper game, maybe it's because I'm a londonaaaah.

It's one of those series that could be good in theory, so people keep paying attention, even though it's never actually good. It's The Walking Dead (TV series) of video games.

No, The Walking Dead (Telltale) is not The Walking Dead (TV series) of video games. :p

I absolutely loved AC 2 but the franchise simply hasn't evolved enough to keep me interested. Even the most hardcore AC fans I know are getting tired of the yearly releases.

They should've followed Rockstars example and handled it like the GTA franchise. One or two entries each gen and maybe some bigger DLC every other year.

They changed the "Victory" name probably because they will never make the perfect AC game....

They already did

Seems the protagonist's name is Jacob?

Never, ever, EVER trust early screens from Ubi. Never trust them from any dev, but NEVER trust them from Ubi

These aren't early screens. They leaked from a test footage gameplay

Not to mention this is basically what Unity looked like. Syndicate will look either this good or better

syndicate? syndicate? does that term hold any meaning in relation to the industrial revolution? seems more of a late 20th century thing to me. wth.

Awwwwwwww yeah. I'm excited. Victorian London is one hell of a great setting, and I'm one of the few people that really really liked AC Unity.
You aren't alone, my friend. I loved Unity. Last time I checked the Smart Glass App, it said I logged 105 hours into ACU.

As much as I dislike most of the side missions in AC games because they're mostly utterly meaningless, it'd be cool to investigate the Jack the Ripper murders and then assassinate that Polish dude who most likely was the murderer.

After Unity I can't get excited for another AC game at all.

Hopefully Syndicate and Jacob turns out good, but with Ubisoft I will never know.

Why do people not like Revelations, it had some great story telling and worked.

The hook blade was stupid, and the battle tower fortress gameplay didn't belong in an Assassin's Creed game. However, I did enjoy it's cinematic ending. In fact, I say it had the best ending in the series.

ughh.

This might sound weird, but I am tired of the whole "hey our piece of media is set in victorian london, you are probably going to see/fight against jack the ripper"

I'd be more interested if the main character was jack the ripper.

Syndicate? Weird. Victory made sense to me as a sequel to Unity and since the game is set in a Victorian setting having the 'vict' in the title is kinda nice.

Maybe all the crying by the very vocal minority made them want to distance themselves from their latest game again; as in black flag becoming AC4 instead of remaining the AC3 spinoff that it is in everything but name.

Or unity is still getting its sequel (set in EGYPT) and they dont want to think that this is the sequel.

Why are people posting in this thread that they don't care about the game? Why the fuck did you click the link then?

Maybe to give their opinions on it? Many people were excited about Unity after the amazing Black Flag, then Unity screwed them over and now many people highly doubt and don't believe in the next AC.

AC + London sounds amazing, but so did Unity.
Won't preorder but will give Ubisoft a second chance. If this runs well on console, I'll get it.
Not interested in the reveal tho because back then Ubi showed a wonderful CGI trailer, then the game came out (ugh).

Next Assassin's Creed To Be Announced Next Week; Now Called Syndicate (kotaku)

Incidentally, I’d heard from a source a couple weeks ago that Ubisoft planned to announce the game during a pre-recorded stream on May 12, but hadn’t corroborated it. I also heard from the same source that the game is no longer called Victory and in fact will be called Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

I'm confused.

I was just wondering why they hadn't announced Victory yet. Typically they announce the new AC in like March-April. Really interested in this one, but I hope it's nothing like Unity.

If you don't care you don't care. You cared enough to check it out. I don't care about My Little Pony, but I'm not going unto threads making sure my oh so important opinion on the matter is heard.

Besides, we know very little about this game other than the setting and possibly the mans name. You never know, they could get rid of towers, add a decent fighting engine and have a main female playable character. Or they could pull a Ubisoft.

...I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why they haven't done ancient Egypt (pyramids, pharaohs, intrigue)

:(

Probably next years one. That unity dlc had very strong "we are going to egypt" nods in it. Besides, I think they have pretty much used up all notable european/western settings so far.

Dunno. They've been trying to announce these things closer to e3, since unity.

As Unity ended on a very lame note and with a nasty cliffhanger it seems egypt is coming, with pyramids and intrigue but without pharaohs.

unless they make another ugly cartoon about it like they did with ac embers or sth.

I'm always curious to see what direction the series goes every year. I haven't bought one since black flag and brotherhood before that, but I still think it's interesting to see where things go. I wish they went outside of their element and gone somewhere exotic like they did in Chronicles China.

This kinda makes sense I guess.

Black Flag jumped back a couple years after AC3. I think they are going to keep on making games in a time period where they can reuse the most assets from previous games. I think we will stay in Europe for at least another game after Victory/Syndicate. While they have another team working on an entire new location. *Fingers crossed* for Japan or back to the Crusades.

Yeh. Black Flag was good.

But I just think we're getting to time periods where personally I don't really care about them and they're just too close to the present day when they could explore older more historical periods. A game set in Asia would be amazing!

I do agree they'll probably make another game in Europe and some sort of spin off using all these assets as well.

But I hope after that it doesn't jump to 20th century or something.

I really miss being hyped for AC. Unity with the forced parity and missing faces really put a downer on things. I'll hold off on the preorder but will keep tabs and if it turns out to be great, will make a purchase. But I'm going to wait and see.

Black flag had some bits in it explaining why the series wouldn't go modern day, but at the same time who knows. This is a series whose creative director is switched out on a whim, so everyone is going to have some sway in changing things. Black flag went for heavily auethentic dialogue to the era, background music and made in jokes about the series, most likely because the CD of that game (Ashraf Ismail) was a fan of the series before he became CD.

Where as Unity removed some of those things, and favored everyone is british for some reason.

I fucking wish, syndicate (victory still better) has all french accents.

I guess I don't get the Unity hate. It wasn't "horrid", it was a serviceable entry into the series. It was no Black Flag, and I'm guessing no AC game will surpass that bar for a while.

Looks like just one hidden blade again. Probably no hidden blade combat either :( Personally I don't care about the 50+ different swords Unity had...I only want to use the hidden blades.

I would love the irony if the characters in this one had a French accent, to balance all the French being very English last time around.
