The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

Geez. The load times after death are insane. This is Bloodborne (pre-patch) levels of slow. I counted up to 53 seconds when he died in that tavern! Are those playing right now experiencing the same?

yes the loading times are insane and take over a minute sometimes

I wonder how the PC ver will fare in loading times.

On an SSD, probably decidedly quicker.

Not a huge issue IMO. A little long death load is more than a fair trade for not hitting a loading cell for every building, cave, city, side of street, etc like we are used to last gen.

It adds soooo much to immersion being able to see inside and outside of a building in games like these. Taking shelter in an in during a storm is an entirely different experience.

I have it preloaded on my PC SSD, so I will know soon enough, also have it on my PS4, a friend will be playing, so I should have a good grasp of the differences soon.

I'm right in saying this isn't truely open world aren't I? Only played a few hours but seems like it's big areas that I have to fast travel between..

Agreed. I didn't realize how much it added to the immersion until I saw someone streaming and I could see everyone going about their business out the window as he walked by it. It really creates a believable world.

Ok, so on scale 1 - 10 how good is main story? And did you got everything or were there parts were you felt lost because you didn't play previous games?

i had no idea who half of the people where, you are able to understand the story but not who all these people are that you talk to and meet from prev games.you had some beef with people and i had no idea why because i never played the other games

7/10 for the story but it would be like a 8/10 or 9/10 if i played the other games

You've got two extremely large areas Skellige and No Man's Land which require a boat to travel between. None of them have loading screens for buildings or caves. Besides that there are some smaller areas which mainly serve introductory or story purposes. How is this not open world?

Sounds great, it seems for me it will be 10/10, since I read all the books several times and played previous games, so meeting all the people I know will be amazing.

nope, nothing to see how long you played

Actually if you check your detailed character statistics, you can see how many hours you've played at the bottom of the screen.

Tells me I've played 15 hours or so since yesterday, which doesn't sound right at all haha unless I was more engrossed in the game than I thought.

I cheked out that 1080p youtube footage that was posted earlier but why is the gameplay so slow against those boat gaurds?

I replayed the video but it was still slow hopefully it was youtube issues and not bad frame rate or slow gameplay/combat.

Damn. They weren't kidding about the campaign length...

This is fantastic news.

This game is going to own me. PC downgrade be damned.

GOTY I am guessing. Unless Halo 5 or an unannounced PS4 game really blows me away.

Gah, it's my first time pre-order a game digitally on the PS4. Extremely frustrating to see the countdown clock in the menu. Just need to get through two work days...

Yeah, I am going with Blood and Broken Bones for my first playthrough.

Hopefully on PC on an SSD the load times are not as bad. Like I said earlier though, small price to pay for not having to load buildings, caves, cities/sections of cities. Overall, even when dying a lot, you'll spend less time looking at loading screens than you would in say Skyrim of Fallout 3:NV. And as a bonus you will be much more immersed.
