These Witcher 3 shots.... I wonder how many thousands of pounds/dollars of hardware this thread is responsible for shifting.

My pics? about ~$750 for a playable 4k @ 30 FPS. Some people are also bull-shotting too, because this is the thread for it. I may do the rendering tweaks for some nice screenies in the future.

Actually it was a known fact that Geralt wore a wig all this time. lol. It's happened to me too many times and in some cases he's been the headless horseman in combat.

Can you disable elements of the HUD in-game? I can't imagine why they'd keep so much clutter around. Especially the basic controls at the bottom right...

Yes, you can disable a lot of stuff. It's a shame most of it it doesn't go away automatically when not in combat. Hope they can add that in an update.

Just a random shot when running around testing my new skills...

I seem to have fixed my crashing issues by running the game in fullscreen mode. Not a fan of that, but hopefully the underlying problem gets fixed....

Not to rain on the Witcher 3 parade, but I've still been replaying HL2 and am just constantly amazed by how good this game looks and how well it has aged. The level complexity and detail is well below any modern game, but the art, lighting, and texture work really hold up.

There's no toggle. You have to use the system menu pause-toggle trick for hud-less.

Hopefully they add that in for PC users later though, because I would really like a hud-less mode.

..... how do I get that armor? I want it.

Also, is that incredibly desaturated or is it just the location you're in?

I'm really liking all the cinematic Witcher 3 screen shots...

Except that all of them are downsampled so much I can't use them as wallpapers, gotta be at least 1440p.

Yeah it's fucking rad. It's the fully upgraded version of the Ursine armor, the first tier of which you get in
Skellige.
I think the armor is supposed to be a little more red than that? I dunno though I was in the middle of playing with reshade when I took that one.

After noticing that literally every shot in the new GoT used only shades of orange/blue, I decided to work on a similar "cinematic" color profile for Witcher

You mean every shot in AAA games from the last few years.

Also, IIRC the fully upgraded Ursine armor is supposed to have fur.

God damn you guys have some cool looking armors. The only armors that are viable that I've had are these goofy looking baggy shirts with different stripes etc. I want some actual warrior-like armor fit for a wise lone wolf ;_; I've played for 31h and I'm still only lvl 9. Too much to do and see. Haven't even set a foot into the novigrad side of the map.

Damn good shots you guys have and I have to agree with the half-life 2 dude in that it still looks suprisingly good.

Nah I don't mean hud-less, I mean deactivating individual elements of the hud but keeping it on while playing. For example I'd remove the list of controls, at least. Probably other stuff too but I'm not sure how useful they'd be.

I feel the same in almost every game where I play a woman warrior... xD

Yes, you can turn off individual HUD elements. I have turned off controls, items on the bottom left there, along with Horse Stamina & Fear bars. Much cleaner image, while still providing me essentials like the map and health.

I am also using the small HUD option, so the remaining elements take up very little space on the top right and left of my 1440p screen.
