There's gonna be the yearly nintendo leak, hours before the digital event. Either from Nikkei, Time or some other business that jumps the gun.

I agree. I think an August release date is perfect.

What other games have been announced at E3 and then released in August? I'm not saying this is definitely an unrealistic idea; I'm just curious about other examples. I guess this is more likely with a remastered collection, though.

It's really like people forget E3 is not for them and is for investors, shareholders and the press!

I'm pretty sure that the press freaking hates them too. And I think that could affect share prices and all. (I think I'm wrong here)

Those groups ceased to be the core audience when they started live streaming the conferences. Consumers are the target for the stage shows.

Pretty much, E3 is a big ad event. The biggest in the industry, I've seen people who know nothing of games who pay attention to E3. Things like Powers make you lost viewers and therefore exposition to your games.

Seriously if they spend any more time talking about TV shows and movies at E3 we gotta tweet shu and tell him to keep that stuff outta this event.

Save that stuff for CES or something. E3 should be focused on gaming and gaming related content.

Who cares? It's not like 5 minutes of multmedia stuff is going to make their games suddenly vanish.

It was 5 minutes.

Damn, it felt like an eternity. And even then, that guy went off script and started to talk a lot more, it was probably more of a 1 minute thing and he ruined it.

Next time, don't invite randoms like him to the stage. I'd rather have an exec do it, since he or she gets to the point.

Of course not, but it makes for a poor viewing experience. The Sony conference is way too long, so I'd like them to cut the less relevant segments, including stuff like Powers. Hell, I'd like them to not show third party games that were in earlier conferences, but I know I'm never going to get that.

Says you.

I don't care as long as it's good or looks promising.

If Suicide Squad is another game re-using the Arkham/Gotham open world with the same assets, just up-rezzed, I'm gonna scream. If I see that dumb glass walkway intersection thing, I'll throw my dog at the TV and make him eat the disk.

TLoU R was announced in April (after it got leaked accidentally by some Sony exec) and released in July last year. So at least a comparatively short span between announcement and release is not totally unheard of for ND/Sony, however September or early October still appears more likely to me than August.

I doubt it. Sony is pretty much stacked for 1 notable release each month for the rest of this year and UC collection just seems right in October/November. The year in general has been great for Sony exclusive games (and games in general, there has been a notable release each month. 2015 is pretty good.

Sony (console) games for the year (and notable/big games not exclusive):

January - Grim Fandango Remastered
February - The Order 1886
March - Bloodborne, MLB The Show 2015
April - (Mortal Kombat X)
May - (Witcher 3), Ultra Street Fighter 4
June - (Batman Arkham Knight)
July - God of War 3 Remastered
August - maybe Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, RIME
September - (Metal Gear Solid V), maybe Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, RIME
October - Uncharted Collection, maybe Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, RIME
November - maybe Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, RIME
December - -------

I would guess both Everybody Gone To The Rapture and The Witness are treated as main month titles as well.

I don't agree. Livestreaming is more of a "throw our fans a bone" since they realize the hardcore care about events such as these and want to see them even though we are not allowed to attend. While I'm sure these companies care to an extent what consumers think of their E3 conferences and such, at the end of the day, they are businesses that must appeal to investors and shareholders as well as make money. The amount of advertising opportunities have grown from E3, but its original purpose remains intact with the numerous back room deals done during E3 week.

This just seems like the most absurd thing ever to worry about.

Sure, the flow will influence what a general audience feels, but I would think an enthusiast would be able to see past the fluff and evaluate the actual content.

It doesn't seem that weird to want to have a good time while you're watching the thing.

Too many games. I think NMS will be a Morpheus launch title.

That would be the killer app for Morpheus. If they release also with a a horror game, some ''experience games'' (like the sark tank and street luge) and support for a racing game, Sony will secure a safe launch for this VR

The fuck did your dog ever do to you?

Need that London Heist demo to grow into a new Getaway. Add that to the mix and now we're talking.

That looked awesome. I think Sony will revive either The Getaway or Eight Days like they did with Until Dawn. Not sure if they would go for Morpheus support though.

He LOVED Origins

EDIT: Let the record show that I love my dog and would never harm him. It was an ill conceived joke and for that I apologize.

I love remasters. Have all of the Sony 1st party ones on the PS3 and PS4. Have loads of the third party remasters as well, but come on UC remaster is in no way a replacement for UC4.

It is not a replacement, but is something that fans of the series want(myself included). I always thought it would be a mistake to not release the trilogy on PS4 before Uncharted 4 because of all the PS4 owners that didn't own a PS3.

He has. Details on FF versus on what was going to happen weren't exact but even he will tell you can never be certain with some outcomes. Such is the nature of this industry.

FF Versus's plans changed many times over the course of a few months. Can't really blame him for that.

He's been right a LOT of times.

Still, his Suikoden VI, Xenosaga HD and Dragon quest Hd remaster (he didn't specify
which but VIII's now out of the picture...) seem highly doubtful to me.

""""Inception""""

Nah, I meant just the word Inception. Publishers love that shit.

I can't decide between Capcom will suck or Capcom will do great.

Deep Down, Dogma Online, SFV, RE7, maybe Dmc5, plus Monster Hunter and portable games, for sure they have the potential to have a great E3.

Go in with low expectations just to be sure. Plus, knowing Japanese publishers right now, 66% if what you just mentioned will probably be on mobile.

I picked up Hot Shots Vita last week during the flash sale. Hadn't played one before and I find it way better than Mario Golf. Can't wait for a PS4 version.

I always liked the hot shots series since its debut on ps1. Maybe it the funny characters and/or that there is much to collect. The physics of the game are great too (excluding the super spin that you can apply)

Leading up to E3, it's always nice to have a bit of a refresher.

List didn't include Grim Fandango & other 'PS4 console exclusives' like Magicka 2/Dungeon Defenders 2.

Only SFV as that's the 'big one that gets people talking.' /sarcasm

I don't think he ever mentioned DQ HD remaster, but rather simply DQ on PS4 (which materialized as DQ: Heroes).

I'm still itching to hear what that SEGA exclusive is...the West needs PSO2 really bad.

Nah he did say a DQ HD remaster was coming.

5. On the back of that, FFXII HD on current gen is basically confirmed at this point. As is one of the older Dragon Quest titles in HD (I've genuinely forgot which number though since it's been a while). In addition to that, there is a spin-off Final Fantasy title planned for consoles. Not big budget. Not FFX or FF7 in case people take it there. Not a traditional RPG either.

Hm, IX would be interesting, but that's not very old. And the older ones would require way too much work to get up to modern standards from a gameplay perspective (it would make Type-0 look like child's play).

Don't see it happening unless it's one of the newer titles honestly.
