Saw ads for this game in front of all the movies we've seen lately at Cinemark. It looks insanely stupid and the most kid-made game ever from Nintendo.

So, you're saying it's a squid now.

I'm a boring human. Boooo :(

Gotta admit this made me giggle and laugh. And I was feeling kinda down so props to Nintendo and OP for posting it hah.

I took this pic yesterday. Up here in Canada there's been tons of marketing for it. Every Best Buy, EBgames, and Source shop has promotions for it.

I hope the game sells well. It seems to have the art style to attract kids.

Nintendo marketing Splatoon with the same caliber as their huge franchises like Mario Kart or Smash. I'm sure this will pay off in pretty positive numbers. Plus the game looks and plays awesomely well. (What I've played on the demo was great!)

Goddamned poetry.

Looking like a kids game and BEING a kids game are two different things entirely. Having played the testfire (and I am sure many here will attest to it), it's a lot of fun, but it also takes a high level of skill to get good at.

That doesn't mean it won't LOOK stupid to you, but it's not just some rah rah kids game.

There's that same banner here in Laval too. If every Best Buy across Canada does have that on top of everything else I've seen then it's a pretty big budget marketing campaign.

Is the actual "You're a kid now, you're a squid now!" line an altered line? Cause in that video with the stupid song all I hear is "You're an Inkling kid, that turns into a squid."

Also suprised more people aren't jamming on "No one will KNOW WHERE YOU HID.'

Clearly you haven't played the Testfire.
Another one for the pile.

Its an actual line. There's a seperate ad where the lady just sings, "You're a kid now, you're a squid now!" It was great.
