From the interviews we've gotten over the past year, I want to believe Metroid something will be on the way.

Maybe.

I'm being overly-dramatic? Nahhhh. I just don't want those that don't want to be spoiled to get spoiled. Kagari hasn't shot down the idea yet so hopefully mods are in talks.

LOL! That's cute coming from you. Don't you remember your constant teasing in PSX thread?

All I'm going to say is, if he only has access to Judges' Week information then it won't be anything major. Not like last year's Bloodborne leak anyway. The big announcements are 2016 and beyond, so someone attention seeking on Twitter with Judges' Week leaks is being a little delusional if he thinks he's going to ruin the show for anyone.
But Fallout 4 is a big announcement...

Any news on if Spike will be airing any conferences this year? I can't remember what happened last year with this.

Also, does the IGN PS4 app do live streaming? Or is there any way to watch these live on a PS4?

It was a bloodbath.

People, it's gone.
There were months ago. Still hurt from that?
Not believing is one thing, but remember the joy, the hype trains images and the gifs.
I miss it now. I miss it so much.

If Worthy is trying to do something good, why throw a stone?
That is nonsense and stupid.

Edit: To clarify, I was hurt at time, and don't belive in any leak I see anymore, but, I know most of it was my fault.

That's not coming out this year.
I should really stop denying it and just face the truth that the only new games this holiday are going to be shooters and yearly installments. (MGS5 is September 1st, not counting it)

Unless Nintendo drops a bomb at E3. At least there's a strong possibility that XCX will make it out by the end of the year in the US.

It's better this way.

It's become pretty clear that people can't disconnect from the hype to think a bit more reasonably. Better to not have hype trains so that we don't hear complaints about falling for more blind hype.

Anybody have any predictions on what Sony's 3rd Party Productions team would be working on?

Everybody was psyched for the Yakuza 5 announcement, wonder if there is anything else they can bring over that people have been clamoring for.

Only if your tastes are very limited.

I'm also immune to insider hype, but you act like the problem is just on those being persuaded. The 'insiders' can be problematic just as much.

I'll start thinking about their other projects once they're done with Yakuza 5 and Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Do you know it's not coming this year or just speculation?

I'd like my dreams crushed in advance, if you don't mind.

I'm going by common sense. Very rarely, if ever, do big AAA games come out a few months after they're announced. It wasn't at Judges' Week either so that's another sign of it not being due this year.

I don't want several leaks. I don't mind one or two(ok, five is my limit), been honest.

I just miss the hype train, which was awesome.
I know one is consequence of the other, but, I can separate things, still I laugh at how stupid was my reaction and most of believers hehe

It's logic. I think it's borderline delusional to think that a game presumably the size and scope of Fallout 4, both in marketing and development, will be announced at E3 and released less than 6 months later.

I mean, it's true that too much teasing by insiders can be problematic. But I'd like to think it's up to the individual poster to take pretty much everything with some reservation unless it's an official announcement so as to not breed disappointment, which seems to be what happened in the PSX thread.

I mean, we had some people with expectations so high for PSX that SFV wasn't considered a megaton. Like, if that is honestly the case, I don't think it's a problem of insiders. I think its a problem of posters being naive.

Yet how is it different from Skyrim? All they'd lose is 2 trailers, some screens, and a batch of written previews.

They've also said that they want to lower time from announcement to release. Announcing a game 18 months prior compared to 11 months for Skyrim goes against that.

...Dude, I don't even know what to say. It's not happening. It's as likely as Final Fantasy XV coming out this year.

Honestly, I don't think it's that insane. The smoke has been rising over the Fallout 4 camp for years - it's been in development long enough to justify a 2015 release. The marketing rollout would start at E3. Preorders go live that afternoon. It'd be trending on Twitter immediately, and the hype train has already been rolling for months. You could announce in June and release in October, with no ill effect on sales.

Most likely, it won't happen. But it's not impossible.

I think it's impossible. What's the last real big budget game that was ever released in such a short time frame? It just doesn't happen.

Long-form marketing just seems to be too important for these games with massive budgets. A quick turnaround like that would be one of the most notable exceptions in recent years.

Eh. I'm just expecting a bunch of delays.

I've never played a Persona game before but the last two series I got into due to GAF hype were Souls and Bayonetta which are my favorite games in their respective genres so I might jump in. But I'm fully expecting it not to make 2015 in NA. I'm also expecting No Man's Sky and Just Cause 3 to get pushed to 2016. Same with at least one big Nintendo game.

I'm barely even into the stuff I mentioned anymore anyway. I'm completely burnt out on Assassin's Creed and the Ubisoft formula and didn't even buy Unity last year. From now on if a game has that formula it's pretty much an instant turnoff. I'm getting pretty tired of CoD so I don't want to buy Black Ops 3. Rainbow Six Siege looks to be another multiplayer game lacking in content and the newer footage looks more like CoD S&D than anything else. I'm worried about the amount of content in Battlefront. Even though I was really disappointed by Halo 4 I might pick up 5 if it turns out to be as interesting as it looks.

What else is there? Mad Max looks like it might have potential but I'm unsure at the moment. Is there any chance that Doom comes out this year?

My holiday lineup might just end up being Bloodborne DLC (I really hope), Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X (hopefully), and maybe the Uncharted Collection if one to two thirds of it isn't based off of Playstation Now.

XCOM 2 was announced this morning, and is hitting in the Fall. 2K themselves refer to it as "Triple-A".

Think about it - do we need year-long hype campaigns for AAA games? In this day and age of instant information, what benefit is there to months of slowly paced reveals, GI covers, and teasers for trailers promoting a stage reveal? Especially for a franchise as mammoth as Fallout? People have already been talking. For the "hardcore" audience, Fallout 4 might as well have been announced back in December. If The Game Awards ended with a F4 teaser, would the conversation be any different? The pre-order numbers that substantially changed?

Announce Fallout 4 on the 14th. The next day, social media camapaigns for pre-orders go live. GI Cover in July for full details. Mainstream media campaign in the Fall when the big TV shows hit the air. Release in October. I still see it selling as many copies as it would in Spring 2016 with a traditional media pattern.

It seems you're mostly focusing on console games, and you're excluding September. Then, aside from Persona 5, No Man's Sky and Just Cause 3, which you mentioned:
  • XCOM 2
  • Guitar Hero Live
  • Rock Band 4
  • Yakuza 5
  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5
  • The Witness
  • Tales of Zestiria
  • Star Fox
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Need for Speed
To name a few of the notable ones. I guess some of those can be interpreted as "yearly" releases, though, but in a pretty weak way. As someone who has an interest in PC and handheld gaming (and also not just considering the holiday season), there's a lot of games coming up to look forward to.

Honestly, I think it does better to games to have them announced and then release soon after. If it isn't released relatively close afterwards the hype is lost.
