It might be, because I definitely got the quest for one even though I picked it up when she wasn't around.

It's honestly not worth worrying about though if it doesn't work out, it's basically just a quick dialogue sequence with no reward.

Thanks :)

Chimney-gate

To be fair the chimney is still there (you can see the omgdowngraded smoke coming out) but it's shorter and only visible from the other side of the house.

And yeah, like I said, I'm sure someone can make a more accurate comparison with npc placement, specific weather effects, more setup effort. I just fast traveled, mediated to afternoon, gifed =P.

I kinda want to sell my trophies, the duplicate effect ones anyway, any negative repurcussions, other than the stinging emptiness of no longer having a souviner of my achievements?

So if I were to pick this up on console, would I want to get the 'bone or PS4 version? I know PS4 has higher resolution but I remember hearing there was some weirdness with the patching or the framerate or something.
Ps4 becomes 20 fps locked when extremely stressed. CD said they are working on it but honestly who knows how much time will require. About the xbone version I don't know what to say. Surely not suffers of this horrible issue but don't expect a sticky fps here too. But if 900p blurriness doesn't hurt you, I imagine you can take it without any problems, if you want to avoid the infamous 20 fps locked issue.

No, sell whatever duplicates. I tried to keep them all too, but I needed the room. Storage chest please CDPR.

Just failed the Magic Lamp quest because I walked out and it didn't fucking warn me. Again. I'm getting fucked off with the failed quests. I'm already about a level down on where I should be through XP I've missed out on.

What have I lost by not doing Magic Lamp?

I think I encountered a weird bug with a quest potentially. I'm doing the Gwent Big City Players quest and beat the first two opponents of the four. But after I beat the second and they pointed me in direction of the third, the game informed me I had completed the quest.

So, did I break it due to not having met the third person in the story yet?

There's a respawning cyclops on Skellige worth 50xp per kill if you want to get that level back.

A key item that can be used for a few other quests. Unless there's an alternate way to get it, but I haven't heard of any other way.

Finally finished my first playthrough. Clocking in at 126 hours on Blood and Broken Bones. I managed to get 87% trophy completion, so I'll be ploughing through the whole thing again on Death March to clean the rest up. The only ones left to get are that stupid crossbow one, the Death March one, the Aard one, and the Axii one.

I got the best ending too (in my opinion):
Radovid and Djikstra dead, Temeria restored, Ciri becomes a Witcher, while Geralt ploughs Yen all day.

So after 2 weeks the game sold about 540 000 copies on Steam and above 693,000 people are playing the game with GOG Galaxy (bought straight on GOG + used GOG codes from the retail copies) = so about 1,23 mil. copies...
But not everyone is using GOG Galaxy to play the game even if he bought his copy on GOG, right ? And not everyone who bought the retail copy used the GOG code, right? So the number for the PC version after two weeks should be higher than 1,23 mil., right?

There was this elf that I rescued from a bandit camp in Velen East of Novigrad. I rescued him and he said he had something to give me And to find him at a nearby elf settlement.

I can't find him and I'm worried that I can't play him for Gwent cards since he may be a merchant.

If it's to the southeast part of the map, he doesn't play you in Gwent. You get some money and xp as a reward, maybe has some diagrams for sale. Their camp is near the the lone road south of where you rescued him, not sure of exact location and it's pretty easy to miss.

he is not too far from where you rescued him. it's a very small elf camp. just gotta search in the area

What ending with
Ciri
is considered the good/true ending?

I would say the one where
she becomes a proper Witcher and Geralt gives her her own silver sword.
is the best and true ending because
she is happy. I haven't seen the empress one but I can't imagine that being what she wants out of life.

Iirc, the same happened to me.
I could still play the two remaining persons though, so no harm done.

(ending spoilers continued)
Agreed, I find a lot of the time after meeting Ciri that she will talk about how much she wants to be free. The witcher ending allows her to be free.

I got the
Empress
ending. I consider it best, since
she picks it of her own volition and even tells Geralt that she can make more of a difference there than in random villages killing monsters. Even Dandelion states she will probably be the best ruler the continent has ever had because of what she learned from both Emhyr and Geralt.

Also latest patch has done fuck all for Novigrad on my save, still a disaster.

Finally finished. What an incredible experience. I think I got the "bad" ending:

Ciri sacrifices herself to prevent the White Frost, Geralt breaks down completely, kills the final Crone and sits in her hut awaiting death from the onslaught of Monsters bearing down on him, at least that's my interpretation.

Such a sad ending and yet I find it the most appropriate for some reason. :(

It's my first Witcher game but I hope it won't be my last. One of the best games I've played in years and I'm really invested in to this universe now. I'd also love to see more Ciri in the future. Final set piece spoilers:
Her going all super saiyan and one-shotting everything was fucking badass. Love her combat style.

So, can anyone tell me how far I am into the story?

Just got to
Kaer Mohren with Uma after reporting to Emperor Lannister.
I have a feeling I'm near the end.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

Just finished Act 1.

PC sales (thread worthy?)

GOG: 693k (gog)

Steam: 572k (steamspy)

So PC sales are just above 30% of the total

(not counting Origin/uPlay sales, which I'm guessing are negligible)

edit: nvm, saw the other thread

Finished Triss' subplot.
Sex scene
was disappointing :) It was just as funny as TW2's though.
I just can't resist that beautiful redhead. Sorry Yen.

Also met up with
Roche
. Since I'm using a TW2 save where I went with Iorveth I was expecting a much colder reception. I wonder if it makes any difference at all.

OK how the fuck are the treasure hunts this fun to do? I just did a full loop of Velen (starting and Novigrad at going all the way around the perimeter back to the city) to collect the upgraded Griffin gear plans.... Discovered so much cool stuff along the way. This game, man, this game!

Finally finished the Jenny o' the Woods contracts. Only took
3 thunderbolts, Spectre Oil, alternate yard, +10% fast attack perk, a bit of apple juice, and getting to level 12
. I still think the quest was a bit hard to be marked as Level 10, but it sure was satisfying to finally finish it.

You need to use Yrden, it's makes the specters body tangible in the circle and therefore you can actually do full damage.

Yeah, that one definitely shouldn't be a level 10.

What's the quest called with the women drinking the blood from the trailer? And the vampire who asks what year it is... Or the the quest with the succubus taking over the village in the GT review?

Anyone know or done them?
