It wasn't until I realised what trains do to threads that I realised why threads get locked due to them.

Also, Sony dropping a Shenmue announcement and TLG in one conference would be ridic.

Given the platforms of the first 2 games, it's more likely that MS would pay for such a game, followed by Nintendo...

But given that Yu likes to take his precious time with nearly every game he makes, i doubt anyone would want to pay the (most likely) horrendous budgets.

The E3 hype always hits the highest before every E3 and people get disappointed in the process. It's been like that for every E3 I can remember. You guys need to temper your expectations a bit. I'm no insider or anything and I may be completely wrong and it may be the first E3 to ever live up to the fans hype but it could easily turn into massive disappointment.

The conference will go pitch black tomorrow, then two spotlights will shine upon the stage, revealing 2 lucky hit boards, left with a big "1" on it, the other with "2" on it, then Yu Suzuki will drive out in a forklift with a flag with a huge "3" painted on it. He'll climb upon it and wave the flag, then the teaser trailer will fire up behind him, while he is still waving the flag. 1+2 HD collection this fall, Shenmue 3 next summer.

That may have helped give it a tad bit more legs, but it was far from the main reason they exited the console business.

The GameCube did not have a DVD drive, and the Saturn was CD based just like the PlayStation.

Yeah but it didn't help Sega just bungled the Saturn launch. Gamecube didn't exactly set the world on fire either. DVD helped the PS2 immensely with people who never really played games either.
