In what world would people choose a remake over a new game? (I know perhaps the answer is "this one" but I think if the original was a solidly made game to begin with an original and potentially great game should almost always be more important.)

All you really need to do is just make it pre-rendered and then just put all console's power into character models and battles.

Then it'll just look amazing while feeling like an old FF game.

I'm not going to say anything on whether or not its true, just cause i would like to wait and see, but according to some rumors, CC2 could be working on this just like G-bike.

If this is done by CC2, i think its pretty much over and done with, they are going to knock it out of the park.. They are better at cinematography than SE for all of SE's insistence on making movies, and taking that and putting it into a RPG format would be a piece of cake for them if DotHack and G.U. are anything to go by.

Yeah not to be negative but the hype crash is coming. Whether it happens during the reveal itself or upon release remains to be seen. I'm a fan of SE's current output, but I know a lot of people are putting some pretty unrealistic expectations on this one.

Yeah, I have more faith in them, SE japan already seems spread thin so I don't think they'll do it themselves. I really hope CC2 uses their cel-shading engine too like I've said before.

A cel-shaded FF would definitely be a breath of fresh air.

then what about FF13, where the PS3 Version cleary outsold the Xbox 360 version

Its a fact that most of the FF Fanbase are Playstation Gamers.
And this gen the gap will be even bigger, since the Xbox One is non-existen in Japan with basically no japano games (xbox 360 had many japanese time exclusive in the first years)


Other then that, i can't imagine such a huge & risiky project withouth the help of Sony.
