Interesting that Reggie bookended the video with the transformation theme. The really want to get that message across. I'm convinced now that NX will be much more radical than just a new console.

For real. Did anyone really want that Metroid Fedora Force? I'm fairly certain people have been asking for a 2D traditional Metroid game.

Did anyone want Mario Party: Animal Crossing or did they want Animal Crossing Wii U?

Pretty weak Direct for me. The new Star Fox looked really exciting, but almost everything else that was new didn't really appeal to me. A lot of it looked like smaller low-budget projects, even the new Zelda and Metroid 3DS games. They all feel like the definition of filler games to pass the time.

Seems like they're putting a lot of their resources into NX development.

Consistently middling. Somehow, this ended up being their longest direct, and at the same time one of the emptiest ones. They showed plenty of good games, but the majority of the big titles we already knew about from last year or even earlier. Star Fox looks ok, and I'm sure it'll be fun, but those Metroid and AC announcements are just like a big slap in the face. I know I'll be more objective in a few days, but right now, I just feel hugely disappointed (which just goes to show how much I love them, I guess).

Damn, I was hoping for something to play on my Wii U in the fall/spring. Star Fox looks cool, but I'm indifferent on most of the rest of the stuff. I totally got faked out on the Animal Crossing stuff, I thought it was a full animal Crossing U. :(

Only 3-5 titles I'm interested in and everything else just does not hold water. Too many goddamn minutes spent on Developer Stories.

This was the complete opposite of the 2014 Digital Event.

As average as it was, I don't think it's fair to directly compare Nintendo's conference will all the others'. Nintendo has several Directs to announce stuff throughout the year while the others mostly stay quiet for 12 months.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
Well that was disappointing. Glad I had no real expectations. Looking forward to seeing more of that new M&L RPG.

Such a letdown ! Last year had me hoping for so much more.
Yup. Given that Super Mario Maker ended up being their final big game, they should have just integrated the other game videos into the Nintendo World Championship event.

They put out a lot beforehand, but really didn't save anything of substance for the main event.

It was also really frustrating how much focus they gave to Mario Maker. We already know a lot about it.

Seriously Nintendo, ALL I really cared about was that you say "Rhythm Heaven + is coming."

Personally i think they shouldn't have any kind of event this e3 or maybe a 3ds focused one + this treehouse.
This will turn out bad for them and thats the last thing they need now ffs... I hope they woill do something with the new console but after this..

Not even going to watch the treehouse I'm that mad.

And I guarantee they announce 1 or maybe 2 genuinely interesting games over the next few days with little to no fanfare for some strange reason.

Yeah. The event was meh at best, and disappointing at worst.

It wasn't a complete disaster because we at least have a few new games that weren't leaked.

The Developer Story stuff ate up too much time, so that was the worst offender.

What this event was missing was a "Splatoon". Like a totally out of left field IP that looked really cool. Can't say the event was that great but GAF hyperbole means everything can only be the best/worst thing ever and no inbetween :p

Nothing big, but hey, it's just bonuses before the big day. then I got up on december 25th and my parents just got me socks.

Nintendo's big games are Xenoblade, Yoshi, Super Mario Maker and Star Fox, all of which were announced LAST year. Good fucking lord. Not a single big reveal. I'm so completely dejected.

I'm a huge Nintendo fan, always will be, but I think I'm done for this generation after Christmas. Will be packing away my Wii U, getting a PS4 and for the first time ever having a non-Nintendo console as my main console for the rest of this generation.

So fucking bad.
