Amazing?! Personally I think it looks like crap.

Graphics wise, its looking pretty good to me. I mean people complained about Splatoon, Mario 3D World, Mario U, Mario kart 8, and other first party WiiU titles, then once they hit people go on and on about how good they look.

Well, I was sure that the Wii U would be supported throughout 2016 into early 2017 at the earliest, but they announced nothing for the Wii U. So I guess the Wii U is pretty much done after holiday 2015, save for Zelda and a Pokken port. And I guess the NX really is a home console then, since it now feels like there's more on the horizon for the 3DS than Wii U.

How could they fuck up so bad

I still don't understand what they did with Animal Crossing on Wii U

I mean what the fuck you can sell lots of consoles and games with one of the most acclaimed AND sold games on 3DS that would be beautiful with the current-gen engines

But no, Nintendo chose to make a mario party-like with expensive NFC toys

No news of Pokemon Tournament too

Really worried about Star Fox watching this gameplay. Looks like they've slowed the action way down to accommodate for the gyro controls. What a bummer.

What's weird is that they COULD have had a great conference. They had Ryu and Roy confirmation, there's Mother 1, there's still Xenoblade X, we know Retro is working on something most likely for Wii U. They have the games, but the presentation was just weirdly empty. They may have spaced things out a little too much.

Pushing the amiiibo stuff a little hard and the WiiU stuff looked bad out side of Xenoblade and Mario Maker

I saw about 5 3DS titles I will pick up though

Once again, i'll be buying a Nintendo Console for like... 4 or 5 games.

Splatoon
XenobladeX
Bayonetta 2
Star Fox

Maybe Mario 3D World
Maybe Mario Maker

Edit: Honestly, the more I watch this Treehouse, the more I don't want Star Fox... I feel like I played this exact game 15 years ago...

As with all things, it's like Nintendo had a successful year last year but they have no idea why it was good. It wasn't the goofy shit and the (sometimes) boring Dev stories, it was the awesome games that were built on new and classic IPs. They missed the mark so badly this year.

All I got is that they are killing time by making 3DS games and that the Wii U is fucking dead, Zelda or no. I thought we would see something else for Wii U as I thought NX a handheld device (with unified software) and that we would still get some Wii U support, but what do I know?

And is Next Level Games wasting their time with Mario Tennis?

Wow. They're really preparing for mobile because 90% of things shown looked like they were made on a shoestring budget.

3DS alive and well though lol. Wii U though... looks like an early wrap. I know they said games shown are through early 2016, but let's not kid ourselves. By 9:30, I thought to myself, "Should I just take a nap?"

I knew they wouldn't surprise me like Sony did. But they managed to surprise me with the worst presentation ever. Still, i somehow understand Ninty. Everything they showed, somehow resembled some Quick-Solution-Games until they can provide new hardware. I hope they will put all they have into the next console. Releasing high budget games on a somewhat dead console is just loss. Looking forward to 2016 with NX!

why would anyone buy an NX. Nintendo is proving they're inept at supporting home consoles anymore. I am pissed I forked over money for a wii u. What a waste.

Everything was 3DS

Wii U is an afterthought.

I just hope that this means everything has shifted to the NX and that the new platforms have a great launch.

I am glad I am so behind on releases (Captain Toad, Bayo2, Hyrule Warriors, Deus Ex HR) and that I have a PS4.

No Zelda U
No Retro Studios
No EAD Tokyo
AC Wii U is a party game

It's pretty clear now that NX is the focus. I'm not that bummed, because it means the first year will be crazy good.

But I wanted to see some new Splatoon content.

Maybe my expectations weren't lofty to begin with, but I was pleased just to see western/us dates for the few games I'm most excited to play in my WiiU. I guess in the scheme of things that's pretty underwhelming when compared to yesterday or even the stuff Bethesda showed. But I didn't come away crushed either.

Here's the thing. A lot of what was there was good. (Mario Maker, Starfox) but there was nothing really new that was exciting. I have no real energy to look for anything about those games after the conference. Also the fact that a good majority of the titles were 3DS not WiiU was telling.

I genuinely believe if you like/liked Nintendo it hurts worse.

Because they literally let everyone down with anyone who had any expectations or wanted something from their favorite franchise, sans perhaps Paper Mario.

Like honestly, I'm not just let down, I'm disappointed with this.

I changed my mind once I didn't see any Zelda at all. That confirmed to me that NX is coming in 2016 and they're just in the middle of a complete rebranding as a company.
Didn't Nintendo say that there would be no Zelda at all? They flat out told us.

My expectations were pretty low once they said that there would only be a focus on 2015 games. I pretty much assumed there would be no bombs. That's what happened.

This year without Zelda is rough, next has Zelda but is likely the last year of the Wii U. I don't think I'm hanging around

Top Down Zelda this year > 3D Zelda next year.

I'll agree that this was a shitty, shitty, shitty Direct for Wii U fans. But it was a solid Direct for 3DS fans. New Mario RPG, new top-down Zelda (with online multiplayer), new Metroid Prime Hunters. I'm happy about that.

REALLY disappointed. I took the afternoon off from work just for Nintendo and they have me disappointed me at E3 2008 levels. Truly deceiving. They are letting Wii U die and not caring at all for all of us who own it. You know what? They said that they focused on 2015 and early 2016 titles, but it happens that in 2016 they will launch the NX, so all E3 2016 will be dedicated to NX. No more Wii U titles. They are LAUGHING AT US IN OUR FACE. Metroid? Have a f****king spin-off that could be made by an indie studio. Animal Crossing? Yes, a party game. Zelda? Sure: an awful cooperative 3DS game.

Nintendo has been transformed, yes, Reggie, you are right. You have now become the company making the minimum effort for their users.

I lost my faith on this company today.

I'm not even mad, I think this whole thing was actually quite entertaining lol

But if this is all they have in store for the next 9 to 12 months I really start wondering if they'll launch the WiiU successor earlyer than expected.

Fire Emblem Fates and X are still nice though. I just wished Metroid would stay dead for another year or two... until they have something actually good to show. I don't even know what they are trying to achieve with the new 3DS game.
