That's the weird part. Adding that actually could of helped make this a bit more interesting.
Such a strange choice to show these things seperately.

So I'm actually real pumped for this year!

Mario Maker, Wooly World, Starfox reboot, SMTxFE, Devils Third, MARIO TENNIS, a Mario&Luigi x Paper Mario game (paper Luigi is already MIA, so the story is gonna be rock solid)

Maybe I'll bite on happy home designer, but I'm absolutely getting silly-animal-crossing-party. I love that it has diary entries for why you lost/gained bells.

Imagine the drunken rage when you fucking lose because nook fucked up and got a dumbass haircut. It's gonna be great! The more I'm thinking about that game the more I like it, I've got so much to look forward to that I'm actually glad I don't have an HD animal crossing to distract me!


No megatons (or dlc for Mario kart/smash/splatoon which is weird) but a solid conference. I may pick up those skylandermiibos because they look rad.


I would have loved to see an announcement of amiibo support in splatoon!

They might as well have shown an NX tease.

It's not like there's a compelling reason for anyone new to pick up a Wii U at this point. Star Fox won't move consoles, Animal Crossing spinoffs won't move consoles. I could see Mario Maker bringing in some interest, but when the console is still $300, that's a big ask.

Last year people were complaining there were TOO MANY Wii U game announcements.

Oh I'm sorry for enjoying Nintendo games and not being bitter. If you dont want a wii u thats fine. Lets not pretend it doesn't have good games though. Comparing wii u owners to beaten house wives though. Really? And you know its possible to *gasp* own more the one console or a pc which this generation is proving to be capable enough to cover most of the other big AAA titles including jp titles which are on the rise for the pc.

Star Fox looks great and the Mario Maker section was pretty interesting (perhaps not the place to show it).

Since all of these are true am still not sure if it matters. People seem to treat E3 as some sort of cinema showing - these conferences are just data centres; somewhere to release new stuff.

Nintendo will go over everything in the next direct and likely have little to no new announcements but anything missing will just get time at another direct.

Nothing says we've abandoned this platform more than this e3 event... Not just for the Wii U but for the 3DS as well... nothing but ports and already announced B-tier titles... with no surprises.

it's clear that Nintendo is saving their big guns for the next platform and it's mobile iterations. Even Legend of Zelda is looking to be another cross gen title similar to Twilight Princess with it's release timing.

I believe the NX will deliver... especially if it has the horsepower behind it... but this year e3 was more of a sell to current owners rather than convincing people on the fence to pick up a new system.

Although overall... there's a ton of gems in total on the Wii U... i just think that with the possibility of a port / backwards compatibility to their new system. It might just be better to just wait till the NX

I'm a lifelong Nintendo fan, I bought Wii U day one and I have enjoyed it, but I won't be buying NX if this is how they treat their platforms and their customers. Fuck 3ds, fuck NX and fuck Nintendo.

EA spent a significant amount of time talking about iPhone games. I know this Direct sucked, but come the fuck on. EA is truly shameless.

If the NX does not get 3rd party support it might fail and we are back at square one when PS5 and Next xbox show up. Is is going to be a ninth generation console? do we know what is will be?

RIP Wii U, if NX is not a family of handheld/console then it can only be a console.

Wait, they look to have given up on Wii U. Between next E3 and Q4 2017 what will they then release on consoles, assuming you're right in that it's released 2017, because if it is that year then it certainly will be close to the holidays.

god, i'm utterly dissapointed. i expected much more. paper jam looks great though, but an interview for a game that was announced last year and is released this one (yoshi's wooly world) was a big let down.

That is a lot for 6 months.

Nintendo told us well in advance what to expect and you guys still overhyped things. You guys have nobody to blame but yourselves.

I wasn't really expecting any bombs, but I think Star Fox Zero and Paper Jam was enough for me, really.

i...actually agree. But the direct last year was significantly better than this year's, so I expect last year's treehouse stuff to be significantly better too.
