Horizon beat out TLG, Shenmue 3, and the FFVII Remake. As well as the new Uncharted, Halo, Fallout, Mario, and Tomb Raider. That's pretty dope. You got our attention Guerrilla, don't fuck it up.

You do know it's an open world RPG and not a linear hack and slash, right? The combat looks incredible in it's own right even compared to straight up action games (let alone other RPGs), with what look like very smooth controls, varied and interesting enemies, and the promise of a variety of strategies to come up with for each kind (that Thunderjaw thing has some 15 attacks and 90 something individual pieces that can be knocked off, I think is what I read). Add in that you can apparently explore pretty much everywhere you see, resource gathering and crafting for weapons and armor, leveling up and developing skill trees/perks, and a stunning aesthetic. I don't get how you could not be excited :p

But opinions and all that. No game can appeal to everybody, so there's no need to feel bad or feel like you're "wrong" for not being excited by it.

Not the guy you replied to but open world RPGs seem to be a dime a dozen these days (Witcher, Fallout, Dragon Age) and while I can see how the combat stuff is exciting it doesn't seem that big of a draw to me to warrant the hype. That other stuff is also stuff that's like in every open world game these days. Maybe I'm just too jaded but there doesn't seem to be that much to get excited over?

Wow, Horizon utterly destroyed the competition! Good for them. Just tweeted to Yoshida and Guerrilla.

Edit - thanks Benny for doing this. Great stuff pal.

Now if only the sequel to the wonderful game in your avatar was announced - This E3 would have achieved perfection. TGS cannot come soon enough.

TGS believe. If Shu says he has already played it, that just means they are waiting for the right venue to unveil it, no CG please.

I didn't even know Horizon existed before E3.

I can't stop thinking about it now. Phenomenal E3 from everyone. One for the record books.

Bish loves my games!
So as far as console distribution (not counting PC ports) goes for the top 10:

6 PS4
3 multiplats.
1 Nintendo

I ended up having to stick it at #3 behind TLG, but yeah that's certainly WAY higher than I thought I'd rank it before E3. Even after the PSX demo, I was pretty meh on the game. But you're right, the E3 demo was just something that blew me away. It was just such a well done showcase of the game.

Yep, can't wait for the game now. But I still want ND to make a Savage Starlight space sci-fi franchise this gen goddammit!

Sony owning the top of the charts and that's with no Rime. Crazy.

Only things I wish were higher were Shadow Warrior 2 and Life Is Strange. LiS deserves it imo and SW2 just looks like pure fun.

That's Horizon's director.

I wish Persona 5 had shown something, so that we could have made it on the top 10. By next E3 it'll already be out >.<

Horizon at the number 1 spot and Uncharted, TLG, and Shenmue in the top ten?

All is well.

Many thanks to Benny. And major respect to Sony and Guerilla Games.

I'm surprised no one actually voted for Federation Force. Even Amiibo Festival got three points.
People did. I counted it for the wrong game. It's being corrected right now, same as your votes. I went through the thread after it was closed and you seem to have been the only person that edited theirs.

(I didn't count as it was posted, I did the majority of it earlier today.)

Edit: Fixed.

I haven't read much about the game, but yeah I knew most of that. I'll definitely keep an eye on it though.

Horizon looks great and took people by surprise. For me though the top spot had to be Fallout 4. Not only does Fallout 4 look amazing, they spent 30 minutes showing gameplay that left people's jaws on the floor. Then they announced the mobile spinoff Fallout Shelter and a real working Pipboy.

But the clincher is, Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 is coming out in 4.5 months!

Hands down Fallout 4 should be the winner of E3, it's not even close. If Sony announced Horizon and said it would come out in 4.5 months instead of the probable 2-3 years I would give it to Horizon.

I wonder how many more votes Uncharted would of gotten if that 2nd portion lf the trailer was shown. Heard so many comments from so many commentators about how mind blowing it was.

Well deserved though for Horizon. Game shows insane promise

Sony GAF confirmed!!! :O

, but honestly... total Sony domination. Not unexpected and well deserved IMHO, kudos to the Sony people for a superb (legendary) E3 showing.

Horizon is a 2016 game. It's been in development for four and a half years.

Wow, I really think I'm missing something, I thought Horizon looked dull :-S

Apart from that, for me, it's a good overall list.

In an E3 where The Last Guardian was shown again, Shenmue III was announced as well as a FFVII Remake, I love that Neir 2 was the biggest surprise. THAT'S how unlikely Neogaf thought a sequel to Neir would be. Planning on playing Neir really soon.

UC4 really held its own against the hot new IP and the game we've been waiting a decade for. Looks so good and we didn't even see the full E3 build.

Who would have thought than in the same E3 that TLG, Shenmue 3 and FF7 Remake were announced, a game by GG, out of all developers, will take the GOTS.

It was second on my list (after U4) but well deserved.

I saw it was going this way but I am still very shocked Horizon was the clear GAF winner.

GAF is a Sony Illuminati conspiracy confirmed

Dang, Horizon with that run away victory! Totally deserved though.

Also lol at No Man's Sky only getting 2 top positions despite ranking so high.

Yeah Horizon is the new thing announced this E3 that I'm most excited about. Also surprised like some others it was from the Killzone guys.

People did. I counted it for the wrong game. It's being corrected right now, same as your votes. I went through the thread after it was closed and you seem to have been the only person that edited theirs.

Oh really. Sorry I was the only one who edited. I just assumed from readers the OP that since nothing was stated I could still edit my post. I just wanted to make sure at first to post some games so I wouldn't forget. I also do this so I can add in explanations a little at a time. As I did that I began to rethink choices and the order kept changing.

It's probably scheduled for fall 2016 which puts it around 1.5 years away. However, taking into account that Order and Uncharted 4 slipped past their announced date it would not be surprising for Horizon to slip into early 2017.

This would put it around 1.5-2 years away.

Horizon's lead is huge. Especially the "top spot" numbers.

No love for Halo 5. I had it on my list since I'm a fan of the series, but the conference demo wasn't that great. Looking back at the results for GAF's Best of E3 2012, TLoU placed first and Halo 4 was runner up.

See what happens when you debut your game with great looking graphics , interesting new ip and good looking gameplay?

Ftfy :)

It's supposed to be fall 2016 . So even with delays should be less than 2 years

Would have got a few more votes but I think the order would have remained horizon followed by uc4 for most like me .

Never thought I'd see Guerrilla Games top a NeoGAF list but there it is. Well done and deserved recognition for Horizon. Very PS4 heavy Top 10 overall. Gonna be tough for Sony to match this years conference.
