Okay, this is a little weird - why isn't the game showing up on steam profiles? As in, when you've played the game it doesn't show up as played e.g.:

http://steamcommunity.com/id/ddrw

Checked with other people on my friends list who are playing the game and it is the same. Maybe some things weren't ready? (Still optimistic :()

Really unfortunate to see so many experience a lot of issues.

I must have mad luck lol. Been playing for the past hour and it has been a blast. Only thing that has bothered me is that it does not stop raining? Looks amaze balls but kind of bored of the same scenery/effect. Few of my notes for those interested.

2500k@4.5ghz, Titan X (15% OC), 8GB RAM, SSD install directory, Windows 8.1, Xbox 360 controller

-----------------------

4k DSR, max in-game settings (sans AA, v-sync on), only game works option enabled is rain and light shaft

-----------------------

- Playing at a locked 30 FPS (via. ini lock). Feels much smoother/console 30FPS than Witcher 3. Seriously feels smooth.
- In one hour of playing got two drops/stutter to 27 FPS. Think this is unrelated to performance and might be streaming related? Have done the bat mobile fight and saw no drops. But was coming out of an enclosed environment and that is when the stutter was felt.
- Game looks fucking amazing and bat mobile controls well.
- Not sure if the A/F is at 16x however...
- Downsampling from 4k->1080p produces pre-rendered/cgi look? its glorious.
- The ocean seriously looks badass the way the waves move lol.
- FMV's are at a really weird FPS? Saw 52-56 like what lol

If they can fix the stutter i will be very happy with the performance and experience i am getting playing this game.

Thanks for the idea man i dsabled sli and and am using dsr from 4k locked at 30. A much better experience. IF they dont fix this game by the time i finish witcher 3 this is how i will play the game

Edit : tried setting the game to 45 and the experience is even better game fluctautes between 35-45 fps but i dont feel it with gsync

Man everyone in here is a bunch of babies... Look, every game released now is going to have problems the day of launch. If you can't troubleshoot or can't deal with having a few issues here or there, you should probably just wait until about a week from now and a few patches will be out and all these little problems will be fixed.

someone said you are a WB employee?

Douchebag. Yes, me.
LOL Oh wow... hopefully it is just a coincidence

Hopefully it's not. Warner Brothers delivering absolute garbage to their customers then having their marketing director call everyone complaining a bunch of entitled babies?

Hopefully he gets fired.

On my rig: i7 920 GTX 970, I pulled a minimum 47 FPS, maximum 118, and an average FPS of 72 via the benchmark running with Max settings, and Gameworks rain and lightshafts ON.

Prowling the rooftops AND wreaking havoc in the Batmobile, my game plays like butter, with nary a stutter in sight... and looks like a Jim Lee fueled Batdream come to life. Absolutely stunning!

I'm grateful I stepped away from the boards and gave it a go before settling for the PS4 version. I hope those with issues get them sorted soon.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Oh good. After an initial CTD after the Nvidia pre-screen, I find out that 4000 some odd files failed to be validated and must be re-downloaded. Basically all 34 gigs.

Sad times lol.

Unless my Afterburner is giving some bad readings that VRAM usage is batshit crazy! Especially for 1080p and this game.

No wonder it keeps crashing and stuttering so much.

Heh.

Gonna boot it up and play for awhile, if it's that bad I'm gonna wait for the patch. Goddamn 3.5GB :/

So I think I know why this game performs so bad, for most people but especially people with 970.

My game was crashing everytime after a couple minutes of playing and almost every single time I changed resolution or any other graphic setting, Windows came up with a "Running out of memory" message so I thought it was my RAM (8Gb) but that's recommended for the game so I decided to take a look at Afterburner logs since the OSD doesn't work for me at least while in game.

This is what I found:

VRAM usage while in menu: 1906Mb

VRAM while in game: 3454Mb

VRAM while driving: 3651Mb

What the fuck.

Same here. I had a similar issue with Metro 2033 Redux last year and it sorted itself out after a day or two.

980/4570 here.

I'm convinced they made zero effort to get this thing running above 30 for anything even resembling a modern PC. Just casually gliding around the world will drop my framerate into the 30s. Didn't bother trying to lock it down to 30. Probably not going to bother with this until I hear about some real fixes.

Night and day difference between something like this and maxed out Witcher.

(also, I can't tell if it's the post processing or what, but this game looks kinda eeeuuueeegh)

Herm. I'm on a GTX980, 16 Gigs of ram, Haswell-E 8-core performance processor.

With everything turned on and set to max, I get rock-solid capped 30fps no problem at 1440...

...

... except there's something going on where every few minutes the game stutters and freezes like *crazy*, even to the point of the audio cutting up and glitches out. It almost feels like a terrible memory leak or something? We're not talking dropping a few frames, we're talking dropping to 2-3 fps and the audio glitching out.

even turning down settings doesn't matter and my game is still a slideshow =/

Get 80-100 when I'm just walking around. Performing an action? Those are some nice screenshots

Okay, I got to the Batmobile and I absolutely have to stop.

This is unplayable. It constantly stutters for considerable fractions of a second as you drive around Gotham.

This is garbage. A garbage port.

Anyone that defends this is a nutcase.

I'll wait until it gets fixed, if ever.

Fucking shit, my CPU destroys the things used in consoles, streaming issues are the last things I should be experiencing.

Didn't pay with PayPal? They usually don't mess around when it comes to refunding you.

Nah I got one of dem nvidia codes.

Thats what I mean... I rather it not actually be someone in WB calling us paying customers garbage cry babies because we are pissed off at buying something that clearly isn't working as advertised.

But if it is him... well yeah WB will just be enjoying some bad PR!

While that name thing would be funny a name like Ryan Moore is not something that strikes me as uncommon enough to jump to any conclusions.

Woof. I played the first 20 minutes or so and this game is in rough shape, to put it mildly. Sounds like there are serious bugs affecting performance though, so I'm just going to wait for patches.

Played for 45 minutes and it's not as bad as I thought. On a GTX 780TI OC and I'm hitting framerate numbers up to 100 on 1080p. The only problem is that the fps is all over the place. It'll drop down to the 80s, 60s and 50s at random times. I'm playing on a G-SYNC monitor so it's been smooth even with the drops but it is beyond random. I can be simply gliding and fps will be spiking all over the place.

This game needs a serious patch but overall I'm having a blast. Can't imagine how frustrating the game must be without G-SYNC/freesync.

Unlocking the framerate to 60fps is a disaster. The game stutters and drops frames all over the place. It bounces from 35-60 fps and never feels smooth. With or without the Nvidia Gameworks stuff.

Locking it down to 30 via the ini file at least gives a relatively smooth and playable experience for me as I mentioned earlier on my 980ti @1080p. Even then, riding the Batmobile never feels 100% smooth. There's plenty of little hitches and stutters that happen.

Hopefully this can be addressed relatively quickly in a patch. It needs one STAT. There's no reason for this game to run the way it does.

Update on my situation. I created a new outbound rule on my firewall for the game, so now the WBPlay stuff works, but the game still doesn't seem to recognize that I'm connected to Steam, so I still can't view my DLC. Oh well, at the least the game runs well!

I really need to buy a G-SYNC monitor later this year.

demanding refund hours after a game is out cause performance issues is a bit cray

I mean, complaints SHOULD be loud and clear, but so far they are. I cant really delve deep into the game till tomorrow night and at this rate I expect SOMETHING to get better

I dont say this defending WB, I say it as the best outcome for us

I'm running a GTX 760 (which is listed as Recommended) and a Core i5 and the game stutters even at 720p with mostly low settings. I hope they iron this out in a day or two because I am really disappointed right now.

I want a refund so I can get the PS4 SKU.

There's no excuse whatsoever that this game can't maintain 30fps on a 970

Nothing is clearer though than losing money.

Looks like VRAM is an issue. When your minimum requirements specify 3GB minimum VRAM (2GB for Nvidia) you know VRAM usage is going to be off the charts.

Hitting your VRAM limit always causes stuttering like the stuttering most are describing.

Hey remember in the steam refunds thread how everyone was wondering what would happen the first time a really big, broken game out

let's find out tomorrow, together

Can a mod update the OP that at current, it seems to be the case that verifying integrity of game cache reliably results in having to redownload the entire game? Big bold letters. Cuz that shit is fucking crazy.

Scrooged

Totally wronger about Nintendo's business decisions.

A lot of people like to play day one. If it's broken for them and they would rather spend their money on something else right now, then so be it.
