What the hell, 5 discs to install the retail PC version but it will only install the "first" 8GB, the rest (25GB) has to be downloaded through steam.... fuck you each other the Warner Brothers, rocksteady you can join them.
Was the same for arkham origins.
4 disk, only a few gigs installed and still > 20gb download.

And as I said previously in the thread it's happened before that a DRM solution has tanked game performance, I forgot what game it was but the only solution to get it to run smoothly was to apply a crack to your legitimetaly purchased game. Because the DRM sucked ass. :lol
Happened with Witcher 2 retail versions versus GOG versions. Retail had securom.

Are you sure there is not something else going on? With a single Titan X, I am able to play at 45-60 fps in 4K with everything on ultra and gameworks on. That's with the most recent drivers and afterburner running in the background (not over clocked). If you have overclocked, you may be exposing weaknesses with the boost you forced. Try going back to the original state. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), this is part of the PC experience - tinkering. Sometimes I think I spend more time doing that than playing the game.

With SLI Titan X, I have 60fps with everything on ultra and gameworks on in 4K. Buttery smooth!

SLI Titan X super locked edition
I5-3570k at 4.2 ghz
24 gb ram
SSD

how ? with sli titan x at 1440p I get 60-50 fps runnign when drtiving its in the 30s. If i turn off sli I get the same fps. Im currently using one titan x and playing with 4k dsr at 40-30fps

You sure? I have an over clocked 670 and with all nvidia stuff enabled and when the electric fists are activated the game drops into the 30s and twenties.

Ended up turning physx down to normal to keep my 60fps average..

Yeah, I could be wrong about the PhysX stuff; it's been a while since I played it. But I do remember that performance was excellent in general.

It is always nice when people defending DRM.

Because with GFWL dead they need to keep the ports broken.

I'm not defending DRM (nor am I condemning it), but I don't think that people should go around spreading false information. Clearly none of us truly knows whether or not Denuvo affects performance, and so we shouldn't speak on it with such confidence.

Sounds like I'm better off leaving it locked at 30 with my gtx980 until they patch it. I'd rather have a consistent frame rate.

I don't understand the notion that the ps4 version some how looks better.

Maybe they uploaded the wrong build to Steam..It sure feels like it. I ran the benchmark and averaged 90fps before turning it off. The game looks awful. AA, Textures, AO, it all looks so bad. Like none of it is even being applied. The textures look like an Xbox 360 game. I mean I got the game for free, my buddy gave me his Nvidia code, I still feel ripped off. This was the one game I was looking forward to this year. They have failed this big time.

Just spent a day downloading, was stupid enought to restart Steam, now it started downloading again from scratch. Nice!

I think we have a right to demand 60FPS among other technical improvements if we spend thousands of dollars on our machine compared to a $400 PS4.

I have both, I know what the PS4 is capable of . I know what my 980SLI Setup is capable of . If something horribly optimized it shows.

What's this have to do with me saying PC launches are typically smooth and NOT like this Batman scenario?

I'm sure most games run stupidly smooth on your rig at launch, and smoother still a week or so afterwards thanks to patches and driver/sli profiles.

You sound like you just want to argue with me for some reason lol.

What exactly did Iron Galaxy do?

Some people are saying they did the entire port based on what looks like a Steamdb link, and other people are saying they only did the Steamworks integration based on I'm not sure what.

Are we just totally speculating at this point?

Ok I was wrong. It's not even using the second card! So still 45ish fps (although it looks smooth). Wtf? Why no SLI?

This stuttering madness definitely seems like a streamloading issue, my hdd activity indicator lights up whenever it happens.

The harley quinn story segment ran absolutely fucking flawless for me, but the main game is a stutterfest.
Now Harley's segment is in a tiny indoors map so it doesn't seem to be streamloading quite much of anything.

I'm actually just talking about how bad this game. Not arguing with you. When it comes to PC gaming if something doesn't run well on a setup that cost thousands you know something is wrong.

Yes.

I played the game for a while with everything cranked up to max including Nvidia Gameworks stuff (fps still locked to 30fps) and so far I can run the game at "smooth" 1080p 30 fps with only minor frame drops.

I got average 54 fps through the game benchmark.

My PC spec: i7-4790 3.6Ghz + GTX 980

We're all speculating based on experience so it could very well be the Denuvo crap. Just because you think it hasn't affected you doesn't mean it's the same for everyone. I know for a fact DRM can cause a drop in performance.

I feel sorry for anyone who bought a gpu specifically for this game.....

bought a gpu for this game?

I built a whole PC with this game in mind!! :(
I saw the trailers last year and thought, "no way in hell my PS4 will run this game at the quality i am seeing, and i NEED this quality in my life, time to jump into PC gaming"

The two games I had in mind when i built my rig have both been dissapointing.
Over £1000 in total for my pc and im using it to play prison architect and winnie the pooh home run derby.

When my lass used to ask "why do you need a pc when you have all the other consoles" i would say "Batman". She is going to have a field day with this awful port.

If you refund on steam, can you buy the game later (cheaper)?

Game doesnt look as good as I expected from the rave reviews (and perforrmance issues people are having) but will persevere. Glad didnt buy season pass though.

Could be that the upcoming dx12 and win10 be the cause of the last shitty ports on Pc? Maybe they dont really want to invest a lot of money on these programming tools and are saving for the next come. Could be?

Ah right, I got my TW2 copy from Direct2Drive and it came with SecuROM, had to get the GoG exe to run the game at all :lol, Flotsam ran at 15 FPS with the DRM. I remember CDProjekt got in hot water for basically removing the DRM from all releases

The in-game benchmarks vs the actual game , two very different things, I had a 20FPS drop using the Afterburner in the Batmobile.

So... This is a shit port?

Damn...

Usually the Arkham games are better on PC right? I remember Asylum and City being great on PC. Origins had some weird bugs and wasn't as good a game as the others but that was by other devs or something right?

I should just give up on buying any WB published game on PC. Nothing but shitty ports lately.

No, that's not how it works. You don't deliver shit products to save on development resources waiting for a new technology, especially if it's been in development for 4 years.

Anyone with a Dualshock 4 using DS4Windows having issues getting their controller to work? I've never had a single issue with any game but I can't get Arkham Knight to work. It seems to detect that I have a Dualshock 4 connected, but it doesn't detect any of my input.

You can console yourself with the fact their are lots of wonderful PC titles out there from devs who care about and know how to code for the platform.

Still, sucks man. :(

Shit man, I just hope the game can run at locked 30 on the FX6300 at this point. Witcher 3 recommended the 8350 as well though, but the 6300 is adequate for a smooth 60 most of the time.

Tell her , BattleFront , Metal Gear Solid V , Fallout 4 , Tomb Raider(when it comes to PC)

So what's 1080p/60 performance on a 780? I'd like to pick this up but 60 or no dice. I may as well just get the PS4 version otherwise.

People have lots of Framedrops on 970s.

Take that however you want.

I ran the game at 4K with SLI -980s , the framerate was fluctuating like crazy.

And now you have a wonderful computer to play every other solidly developed title on.

Congratulations.

It's working perfectly for me.

Turning off motion blur via the .ini crashes the game, anyone found a way around this yet?

Congratulations.

His disappointment is valid.

Just feel bad for RockSteady. Doubt this is how they wanted the launch of something they worked hard for the last four years go over something they had no control over.

Rocksteady won't give a flying fuck. They've got their 90+ Metacritic and they're on track to sell millions of copies of the game. They're probably drowning in champagne somewhere right now.

Dude, fire up The Witcher 3 on your PC and be blown away by how amazing it looks and runs.

And again for many other games both from the past and in the future.
