Switching over to the PS4 version doesn't help. YOU STILL GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

I think part of their strategy is to make sure games run like crap on AMD too.

The only Exception in the Next-gen Cycle of Nvidia Approved games I've played is Ground Zeroes , but that game doesn't have GameWorks.

Witcher 3 runs great on my 280X. Hell it ran better on AMD cards than on Nvidia's own Kepler series cards.

Is this what people are talking about when they mention the stuttering?

Am I the only one this game is running alright for maybe because I installed it on an SSD?

I bet it's a combination of streaming issues and just flat out being a turd port. Could you install it on a regular HDD and see how it affects the game? For science?

Im tempted to buy still b/c I also never had issues with MKX and I see others are having OK experiences too. So tempting....have PS4 and I only intend to play at 1080p but really REALLY want 60fps. Have 780, i3570

Seems like PC patch will around 20-30GB size, based on the some of the posters on PC Gamer.

Who? Are they insiders? Are they speculating?

People need to stop repeating information without explicitly sourcing it. No more "I heard", "someone said" etc. It's important that the information we have is accurate since so many people are just repeating speculation / guesses about reasons why performance is happening, who did what in the development, etc.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Actually I get an error when I type out the following:

licences_for_app 208650

>>> command not found: licences_for_app

So either I'm doing something wrong or I just need to get a separate key from ozgameshop.

Oh, sorry, it's licenses. Curse my Australian English spelling. ;)

Most of the issues you're hearing about are from people who haven't tried unlocking the framerate.

Yeah, you won't get 60FPS. I have a 980 and I only get that when indoors.

Not true - game still stutters when streaming the game world regardless. First thing I did was unlock the FPS and it's not steady.

Thats what I did.

Nvidia made Hairworks to run like crap on AMD. Its all part of the strategy.

You can make hairworks run fine on AMD GPUs if you tweak the tesselation settings in the drivers without it looking noticably worse. And I was under the impression Nvidia GPUs had specific Components for that kind of stuff that AMD GPUs don't? Someone correct me if I'm wrong and it's just driver level optimizations

The Harley Quinn DLC was rolled into the game's pre-order subs. I suspect he was given a post-release key.

I don't think it was because I was given a pre-order Steam code for the game on Sunday but it didn't include the HQ DLC. I have been trying to get the reseller to sort it out today.

Okay, I got to the Batmobile and I absolutely have to stop.

This is unplayable. It constantly stutters for considerable fractions of a second as you drive around Gotham.

This is garbage. A garbage port.

Anyone that defends this is a nutcase.

I'll wait until it gets fixed, if ever.

Fucking shit, my CPU destroys the things used in consoles, streaming issues are the last things I should be experiencing.

Nah I got one of dem nvidia codes.
Not everyone is having problems so that's kind of a bullshit reply. The only problem i have run into is i drop 10 maybe 12 fps when in the Batmobile but being someone who isn't hung up on the fps thing it doesn't really bother me but other then the batmobile it's literally the only problem i have and it's The Witcher 3 all over again. Half of GAF was losing their shit at "how bad" it was while the other half had no problems.

I acknowledge the game has problems since clearly so many people are having trouble but don't like anyone who isn't having problems is a fucking nutcase or some undercover spy.

With cap unlocked running on a GTX 980, i5-4690k and 8GB of ram maxed out in the limited settings menu (minus the nvidia stuff) @ 1080p i get a solid 60fps outside of the batmobile, like 90% in the batmobile i get 48-55fps.

It is interesting that the PS4 version is 50GB whereas the Steam version, unpacked, is 37GB.

I think Titanfall had something similar, but the other way around. The cause was that the bigger version had uncompressed audio files to reduce the cpu load while decoding them on the fly.
Maybe that's also the case with Batman.

Andy, anything from your side? I know that those problems aren't NVIDIA specific, but for sure you had some kind of idea about the performance before this shitstorm?

Of course he did. He probably fired it up to do the performance guide only to be like

Could have at least warned a brother.

Buy it from steam and refund it if the port sucks. Should be simple enough.

I want to hear back from these people with low performance after they've unlocked the framerate.

I unlocked it to vsync 60fps, I get 60 fps looking around and gliding in some parts, with horrendous amounts of stutter. Then when I get in the batmobile my PC just says fuck it and it drops to below 30.

What's the point of adding DRM if you're already using a Steam account? Steam should be enough to protect against piracy, but this is just idiotic.

I hope they patch it out and have everything running well for PC gamers :)

Denuvo is surprisingly effective, as far as I can see Lords of the Fallen and Dragon Age Inquisition have yet to be cracked (despite news reports) which is almost unheard of in regards to PC games.

I always suspected something shady about this, when they changed the min PC specs silently a day before the release date.

i5 4460 3.2 ghz
8gb ddr3 1600
1tb 7200 hdd
R9 290 4gb catalyst 15.6 beta

1080p
uncapped fps to 120
v sync off
everything maxed
gameworks off

looks like i got the fps to be 70-80 but still have stuttering when gliding/moving fast or in batmobile.

Ok, I have a 4790K, 16gb RAM and a 980 Ti.

You're telling me I can run this on a rock solid 30fps at 4K ?

Any graphical tweak other than unlocking FPS on ini file and then capping with msi afterburner?

Enlighten me please?!

Probably if your cpu is overclocked to 4.5 or so?

DON'T unlock the fps, just boot into the game, turn all the settings to max including Gameworks and you should be right. The game is already capped(lol) so no need to do anything else.

Arkham community manager;
Hi all

We're aware that some users are reporting performance issues with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. This is something that Rocksteady takes very seriously. We are working closely with our external PC development partner to make sure these issues get resolved as quickly as possible.

We'll update this thread when we've got more info to share.

Thanks

Not an actual authorised reseller. They are probably selling keys coming from the NVIDIA promotion, those got the bonuses pulled.

OGS has a very good reputation as a reseller in Australia. They source their games from the United Kingdom for resale in Australia. I'm not aware of shady activities like reselling promotional keys. Would be quite a surprise.

10fps? Dude your game runs at ONE THIRD of the intended speed. The Input Delay is 3x higher than intended. I'm not someone who is hung up on framerate, far from it, but most people would consider 10fps literally unplayable.

I would assume that he/she is talking about the apologists and not those who have no trouble with the game. Also, judging from the number of comments, much more than half of the people here have issues with the game.

Starforce still holds the record for conventional DRM, to my knowledge. I doubt Denuvo will beat it.

It put me out of the minimum specs range well after I purchased a non-refundable pre-order.

Shady as fuck especially since they never mentioned that PC development would be handled externally.

I seriously hope that the refund rate on Steam is extremely high and that WB loses a shit ton of money.

They won't.

He never said he dropped from 30 to 10 fps. He might very well be unlocked and dropping from 60 to 50 frames :p

Well, as far as I can tell my 280X runs about as well as you'd expect a card in that range to do. I looked at some similar Nvidia GPUs in the same performance range and they run the game at similar frames. Always take Steam discussion outrage threads with a pinch of salt :p.

Ok, wanted to play that yesterday but download was slow and had work this morning, finally getting my hands on this and the fucking controller (Xbox One) won't work, it's like it's not even there.

Anyone else getting this? And why the fuck am I getting playstation icons in the controller setup land intro menu ol, is this a PS4 port or what?

Ok so quoting myself here cause I fixed it but fucking hell this is amateur hour.

Basically having the controller HID activated for my Roccat Tyon mouse (which basically enables the paddle) and the game won't detect my Xbox One controller even if setup to be the controller by default in Windows.
And the game just recognized my mouse as a PS4 gamepad somehow giving me PS4 prompts everywhere...

The only game to ever do this was FFXIII port on pc :/
