So, the game has missing files. MKX also has a borked pre-load.
Can WB games just not add the correct files to Steam or something? Do they have no system for ensuring that everything is uploaded correctly? Because it sort of sounds like this may be the culprit for the more egregious issues (i.e. the stuttering and crashes).
I'm one of the 'lucky' people whose only problem is the generally poor performance and occasionally FPS drops while the city streams in data.

This is responding more to the internet at large than this thread, but god, can we please not do a witch hunt with that guy.
GMG does not give refunds.
I'm not saying it isn't shitty, but people are jumping on this like it's 100% true, and there was evidence posted last night that pretty much proved it was a different person. I've even seen people on Twitter claiming it like it's fact. I just really don't want to see Gaf be responsible for a witch hunt that gets some guy in trouble over something he didn't do.

Maybe those look better when playing yourself, but watching Lirik's stream and those effects look so bad imo :/ Smoke clipping through batmobiles model like nobodies business while looking very unrealistic. Paper stuff just don't seem to add anything to scene, imo.
Edit: When looking at that linked comparison video I would pick PS4 version, for performance and IQ.
There are no missing files. Initialising the cache verification process causes the game to delete itself and I'd hazard a guess and say that this is some sort of over-protective function of the Denuvo DRM.
I'm in the same boat. Rock-steady with no gameworks and no ini edits on a 4690K and GTX970 with 8GB RAM. Nothing overclocked.
I had one stutter that was admittedly several seconds in a cutscene, but that was it in about an hour of play.
Graphic comparisons seem a bit pointless at the moment (unless you're trying to show how bad this port is). The game is clearly fucked on PC and probably more than likely missing tons of settings/graphical features as well. Wouldn't surprise me if Rocksteady took over the PC version now and try and fix it up.

just to see if hardware makes any difference at all , and the game still drops well below 30 and frequently below 10 ( it freezes for a good second at a time when gliding around).
This game is the very definition of broken, It doesn't matter what combination of setting or resolution I use the results are largely the same.

What sound profile do you have setup? I ask because there is a headphones setting AND a PRO headphones setting. I started on headphones and the sound was very funny.

Wow, was on the verge of buying the 980ti and seeing what it could do with the free copy of Batman. I'm pretty glad I waited.
You need to hit up the reseller you purchased the game from. Retail copies seemingly come with two keys (a post-release game key and a pre-order DLC key).
The PS4 version has AO and the PC doesn't? The fuck?

GTX 980 and i5 4690 here. Getting a pretty stable 30fps (didn't even bother unlocking it) with only a little stuttering even with Gameworks apparently on. The screen is tearing quite a bit though even with Adaptive v-sync, but it's still playable. Guess I'm just lucky.
Oddly enough the OSD of MSI Afterburner doesn't work with Gameworks on.

Thanks. The thing that has me worried is even with a 30fps cap there are reports of a memory leak that gets worse the longer you play, effectively ruining any chance of a console-like experience on PC while we wait for patches.

Game release gets pushed back by 7 months and it still has fucking problems. Not to mention the specs get changed a day before the release date and wasn't developed by Rocksteady, as well as no one receiving pc review copies.
This is a shit show to say the least. I can't wait until Jim Sterling rips a new one in the next Jimquisition.

I tested things out with all of the bells and whistles last night and it seemed borderline acceptable on my 970. Definitely in the 45-50 range at most times, but perfectly playable.
At least it would be if it would go ten minutes without crashing. If it wasn't a Nvidia promo code in would refund it for now.

You shouldn't avoid the 980ti because of batman, you should avoid it to see what AMD can do. But that discussion is for another thread
ugh, who cares...this kind of stuff seems to get out of control and ends up with someone possibly losing their job, all over calling some people "babies." It's not like this guy sabotaged your copy of the game.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who's figured this out. Clearly these "performance issues" are an illusion brought on as result of you breathing in the Scarecrow's poison during the games opening sequence. Similar to Arkham Asylum when it seemed like the game crashed and restarted. Brilliant game design! I'm just hoping this poison effect wears off eventually cuz it seems to be going on a little too long.
