WB are a big part of the problem but to not lay any blame at the port house is also not correct, especially if they're not owned by the publisher, like this case. They are often bidding and claiming they can do XYZ in amount of time for amount of money. So at the very least they need to be responsible enough for themselves to know what they can do. It's not their first rodeo. They released Borderlands 2 Vita, one of the more notable bad ports around. If they can't manage the work, they should not be agreeing to contracts stating they can.

Of course, there's a lot of factors we don't know about like if WB or Rocksteady were late with stuff and whatnot, but IG is not blameless.

It really is none of my concern who the contractor was. If their work was not up to "AAA" standards, then it's WB who should've fond another studio that could handle it. Experience tells me that they gave it to them too late, put stupid deadlines and didn't put it through a thorough testing phase before releasing. And yes, perhaps IG signed up for something they couldn't handle, but it may as well be a case of missed deadlines on Rocksteady/WB part. We don't know the details, hence why I'm reluctant to point a finger at one tribe in a large machine. At the end of the day it's the leader who should pass the prise and take the blame.

Solid 60fps maxed without gameworks, with all gw turned on it drops to 40fps every now and then, I think its the debris that's causing it at the mo, 980 stock.

Is this what it's come to, lying about problems on a game you don't own to be a part of the outrage culture?

Game works great for me, 7 hours in.

Is this your Steam? http://steamcommunity.com/id/Lockjaw333/games/?tab=all&sort=name

How are you playing this when it's not even there?

Find anyone on your steam list that owns it and show up under Friends who play Batman... and check their games. Nobody got it shown there. At least none of my friends.

Looks like they also just straight up forgot to put any rain shader either, look at the back panel of the vehicle.
THIS. Same with batman armor/coat. I just can't believe that this is not a mistakenly uploaded early build or something. We even saw those effects working in nvidia gameworks promo video.

Despite my conspiracy cobblers before, having now put in some time with the game...I'm having no problems at all.

I've not touched any .ini files, maxing all the settings out, turning on all Nvidia game works features, and it's constant 30fps for me. Admittedly, the frame rate lock shouldn't be there, but just playing the game 'as is' is fine for me - no stutter or anything.

I'm playing at 1440p too. On a 3570k CPU, 970 overclocked to heaven and 32GB of RAM. Maybe it just likes my RAM? Who knows. Installed on SSD.

I fully expect the massive, rushed-out patch to break it for me.

No. That was just idiot PS4 fanboys comparing the earlier, superior, in numerous obvious ways (to anyeon with working eyes), PC footage vs the latter PS4 footage.

They obviously weren't talking about the end result on PC.

Here's a clue: most things PS4 fanboys say about the PS4 should be taken with a big fat grain of salt.

What the fuck is this drivel.

I don't think the 30FPS cap is affecting me. The performance test said 53FPS for the most part, and there are parts of the gameplay that feel smoother than 30FPS.

Occasional slowdown aside, I'm getting no major issues. I'm happy that I bought the PC version, mostly because I only spent £35 total including the season pass. Way cheaper than on console. And it will be enhanced when I upgrade later down the line.

My specs:

Sapphire R9 270X 2GB
AMD Athlon X4 750K
8GB DDR3 RAM

Is anyone else finding that this game can't tell the difference between an Xbone and 360 controller? I'm getting prompts for the Options button when it should be Back on my 360 pad.

This seems to be the fix for the bug where your game gets deleted when you verify the integrity of your game cache, at least it works now for me.

Oh wow. maybe I can play it now

I set max fps to 144 this morning before work and was able to play it at a constant 45-50 fps at 2560x1440 both in and out of the batmobile. This is with all settings maxed (or at normal I guess?) Having said that I definitely feel like I should be able to get more out of this game with my rig.

Edt: I did play for less than an hour this morning though, so if there is any memory leak or vram leak issues I probably wouldn't have felt that impact

Yeah, I caught that... My apologies for jumping the gun, but this thread seems so insane to me because it's been running smooth and looks great for me and I have a 760.

Anyone getting this?

Yeah, got that error when game booted minimized cause i clicked on other windows as the splash screen was shown, tried clicking play and let it get to menu before moving mouse or using keyboard and it worked fine.

IDK whole thing seems random

I wont call it smooth but i made it run at 60fps after few hours of trial and error and reinstalling. Still not happy and gonna keep working on it in 15 hours after work. Maybe i can get what i want out of it.

So the folks on GAF that were saying that are idiot fanboys? Going by the comparison footage, even though the PS4 footage is softer it DOES look better thanks to it not lacking AO.

Wait, what are you talking about?

The people that were saying the PS4 footage we saw a few weeks ago for the first time looked "better" than the original PC footage showed off way back?

'cause that's what I'm talking about. There were those people, and those peopel are idiot fanboys.

Anyone lookign at PC footage TODAY (or last night) and saying PS4 footage looks better is 100% correct.

Check the AO comparison. You are not seeing the game as the developers intended.

I have 32 GB also and game is pretty smooth, with talk of memory leaks thats probably a big part of it

people spending money on a 970 being happy to play an Unreal engine game at 30fps with dips

crazypills.gif
This is more akin to an even heavier version of samaritan, which took 3 580s to run @ 1440p with 4XMSAA (at 60fps?), if I remember correctly.

A version of UE3 which never saw the light really.

I just downloaded a patch that had 0kb ??

Also why does the game not show up on my profile in Steam?

I also can't look at achievements. When i click on that it takes me to my profile not the cheevos yet i can see them for other games.

Anyone else seeing this nonsense?

A quick and dirty low res mobile video I took a minute ago showing how bad the stuttering is for me, all options on default at 1080p with nothing else running in the background. This is just after the intro.

14 seconds in is where it gets really bad. http://youtu.be/ybW6iTHzmuw

I know there's shit loads of complaints but is it this bad for most people?

Ahh, ok, my bad. Yeah, well they're right.

I can also see why some people would say the PC still looks better, given the effects and the better frame rate, especially on smooth segements of the video.

When you're actually playing and it stutters though, the smoke effects don't matter.
