These guys are 1-1 with silent hills and Dark souls 3 rumors but I'm gonna call BS on this one. There is no way it's going to launch at $40 even after a year later.

A year doesn't seem too hard to believe, considering the Destiny DLC deal with Sony was also for a year.

Anyway, the E3 demo was terrible. Don't really care enough to complain. I'll rent it, probably.

A year makes sense to me. I have to say, as an X1 owner, im going to really wait for what the performance is like. Because I'm more tempted to skip it and wait for the PC/PS4 version if those will run it substantially better (well obviously PC should be able to).

I have Fallout 4 this fall anyways (and hopefully Persona 5). Which is fine, I don't think this deal was made for me. It was made to sell consoles and you better believe MS will bundle the shit out of Tomb Raider.

And you get A Rise of the Tomb Raider, and you get a Rise of the Tomb Raider, everyone gets a Rise of the Tomb Raiderrrrr!

It may sound stupid, but their statement about the exclusivity sure makes it seem like that played a role

Renting day 1 on Xbone, might replay on PS4 later. I'm not giving Square a dime for this. They already got their money from MS.

Why is people surprised about the 1 year later? It's not like it hasn't happened before with Xbox "exclusives"

Two major differences. One: PC wasn't excluded from the initial release. Two: PS3 wasn't outselling the 360 by a nearly 2:1 ratio worldwide.

Really don't care about timed exclusivity. It doesn't change my opinion of the game itself or the platforms I am interested in or purchase. I'll still pick it up if I like the game and it happens to be coming to the platform I have interest in

1 Year is too long and releasing again in November? When newer games are out? Good luck with that. I don't believe SE would go that long.
6 Months Release in July/August - that seems about the sweet spot
3 Months... is just to short to make the deal worth it.

Certainly won't be a launch Xbox game for me as the first didn't do that much for me. Wouldn't be surprised if I did pick it up at some point though, not sure which version I'll get.

On rebelfm it was mentioned they heard the exclusive window was 12-18 months. It's going to be a long wait if it comes to ps4 and by then the Xbox/pc version will be 1/3 the price.

Btw you know a rumor is false when they're listing a price. Pricing isn't something that's set until close to release.

Hmm. I wonder if the PC release is that far out. I actually half expected that MS would position that as a Win 10 thing while they're at it, and hoped they'd do cross-buy with the Xbox One version. If it's a whole year away that seems very, very unlikely.

Plus the development of those games had started on the 360 when there was no PS3 even to develop for. That's why it was so easy for MS to snap up these exclusives.

The "Xbox Exclusive | Holiday 2015" verbiage sprinkled on any mention of this game invalidates is rumor.

A year later is probable, but I can't see Squeenix justifying 40 dollars out of the gate, unless it's just the base package, and there's been a whole ton of DLC in the meantime.

But honestly, I don't know if TR has the legs to pull a GTAV with the PC/PS4 versions and get away with it. I really wonder how big that MS check was.

Do we have concrete info on the exclusivity lasting a similar amount of time for PC, or is that just assumed?

I demand it to be released at a budget price, with extra exclusive content to make up for the delay, and then, and only then, will I buy it used.
