Brads bloodborne quest is another video series we can toss on the pile next to professional Wednesdays and The No-Go Show isnt it?

yep, sooner that goes into the garbage the better

pfff The group I follow for "full game movie" just uploaded their Witcher 3. Except...

Part 1/4, 7 hours!

Get ready for shouting

I think i'll just do something crazy like play more games instead of getting to know another group of streamers.

So, let's see what this Order 1886 game is all about. Can't be any worse than Gat out of Hell, which i just finished and is 99% side quests.

What are people's predictions for Metal Gear Scanlon 4? I'm thinking a week or so after July 4th holiday.

It'd allow them breathing room before PAX & MGSV.

Pls.

I give up. Let's see what these "super" "best" "friends" are all about.

You should watch their Silent Hill 2 playthrough. They talk pretty in depth about it, and Guy Cihi even became a guest on their Podcast because of it.

Alternatively if you want to watch Matt show off his game tester chops, they're currently playing Ride to Hell. That's a videogame and a half right there.

I disagree with the previous speaker: I want to see more Breaking Bradborne. I like seeing Brad play Souls, and the Brad/Jason dynamic was awesome.
Also I've been having these really vivid nightmares about Amygdala since the last stream and I don't think they will end until Brad slays the beast.

You need to get all the riddler trophies to see the true ending?? Seriously, fuck that.

no, you just need youtube for that.

That's the best thing ever for games that have bullshit multiple endings. Back in my day, you just read about endings online on someone's angelfire website or in the primitive version of Gamefaqs. you know, the one that had the graph paper background?

So you either had to absolutely love a game and have infinite free time (like a teenager for example) or you just had to look it up and hope there were screenshots or a detailed explanation of what happened.

So thank goodness for youtube. I can be a crappy gamer who just mainlines a campaign and then load up youtube to see what endings I missed, like i did with gat out of hell and New N Tasty. Because I aint got time for that.

I should finish Arkham City someday. The only open world game I've ever managed to finish is Lego City Undercover (still possibly the best Wii U game). Most open world games are just chores to finish. They have way too many sidequests that are constantly being thrown in your face, especially for somebody like me who likes to 100% games when possible.

I thought Arkham Knight handled the 'open world' a lot better than City did which I just ended tapping out of. A lot of that is due to the fact how they justify Batman's need to do everything because of the narrative and they update all the goon and character dialogue substantially after the main story is done. I don't remember the side stuff being compelling in City at all. AK is streamlined in a good way IMO.

Also, the Riddler stuff in City was way more frustrating.

I think I'll just actually finish Aslyum and never bother with the Arkham series, just watched the "true" ending for Knight and good lord is that a real dumb one.

So just to be clear... In Arkham Knight, you can finish the main story line and get one ending, then you go back in the game and then you can complete the side quests and get the other ending and then you can get all trophies and get the third "true" ending without having to do a new game +?

AC only has like a dozen real side missions and most of them are really, really good. The Mad Hatter one in particular is terrific stuff and is more memorable than most of the events that happen during the main quest. Was it AC that also had the Bane side quest? or was that Oranges? That one was pretty good, too.

Just don't get caught up in the collectible BS and you be good. That shit is kinda interesting when you come across it but it's been unreasonably crazy in every game post AA.

AC is really, really good. At first, i didn't take to the whole open world thing but it grows on you with time. Especially once you master gliding in the game.

It's like how Just Cause 2 is a good game but becomes great as soon as you master paragliding. It's a similar euphoria

There's two endings. I guess there's a 'third' if you count the end to the main storyline.

Once you do the main story and a certain % of side stuff, you get a notification that you can do something specific to get one ending.

Then you need to 100% to get an ending that expands on the previous one. You're technically not forced in to seeing the previous ending before you 100%.

Personally I thought it was handled well and felt like I was playing towards something meaningful compared to Assassin's Creed's style of fill these meters up that don't have much of an affect on the story or world.

Don't forget likely no UPF this week.

Though I bet there will be a stream on Thursday.
Freedom streams are the best streams anyway :D.

Also no comment on my post from earlier?
Hey GB Gaf make sure you send as much love as possible to Patrick this week even though it has been a few years.
I imagine that this week this is the worst week of the year for Patrick so if you can take a minute and send you love here

I actively don't want to do that, because that's a private thing and I don't know how he wants to deal with it.

I have a lukewarm taste in my mouth with AC for some reason but I'll admit I don't remember a lot of specifics about the game now. I do know I felt the open world felt forced to me whereas in AK it's a joy to get around and be in by comparison. I also felt like they were throwing nearly every character in that universe at you and it was overwhelming. AK doubling down on Wayne was more fulfilling to me as a fan. Maybe I should go back to it.

I do wish AK didn't nearly completely go away from boss fights since that's a series that has done them well (Mr. Freeze fight is an all-time favorite) and all of the ones in here are very much a letdown.

While I've not finished AK yet I would say that it's above Asylum and City in the story and writing Department, City was a complete mess and Asylum's story is really forgettable.

Asylum is still the best game in the series though, it's simple but it's pieces all fit really well together and that can't be said for the sequels.

Patrick was always receptive when I sent him a friendly note on Tumblr. I never get personal or specific, but it's nice to send someone good vibes.

I have a enormous soft spot for Scoops given how much grief he has gotten over the years.

Yep, the truest of endings. Not the Knightfall moment, you get that by clearing house with those specific sidequests.

It's so not worth it.

Those kind of endings rarely ever are. Seriously, i dont remember one "true" ending thats ever been worth 100% the game. I can understand the true ending thar you get by following a certain path through the game, but stuff like this is there to just lengthen the experience and it sucks.

Yup, have no shame in youtubing those kind of endings. Maybe 8 years ago i would have cared more but I'd rather just move on to a new game than replay it all for a new 5 minute ending.
