The thing is, implementing a dynamic resolution solution isn't easy especially when it's late in development. It should be present from the get-go. Also was there any game that changed resolution from 900p to 1080pr in late development?

Well we know Destiny went from 900p to 1080p, and Witcher went from 900p to dynamic 1080p(apparently only in menu's though), as well as a few more i'm sure, so its def possible

Wasn't the E3 demo to Call of Duty AW 900p?

Depending on how the frame rate holds up, it might be hard for them to get to 1080pr, let alone 1080p.

True. The new graphics, real time lighting, and weather effects aren't free, and the larger environments could also be a big factor too, so I'd be surprised to see them go higher. Surprises aren't rare though, but neither are framerate/screen tear issues.

882p actually. But yeah, going from 900p to 1080pr is not that hard if they want to.

I wouldn't call TW3 resolution "dynamic", when it's pretty much static and only depend on the scene.

Wow, I'm really digging the visuals on this game. I'm playing through TR right now, and while it's fun, I was in no rush to get the sequel.... Now it's sneaking it's way onto my holiday list.

Looks like a beautiful game. The branch-hopping looks fun and I'm glad to see the bow return.

First time I've suffered from console envy this gen - lucky One owners.

Love the way this game looks and Lara looks beautiful. Those facial animations are top notch.

Loved TRDE and looking forward to this. So hard to determine if Fallout 4, ROTR, or Halo 5 will be my end of '15 jam.

I've been thinking about it and I think I'm going to get this when it comes out instead of fall out, and save fall out as my after holiday/ beginning of the year rpg like DA inquisition was for me this year.

Game looks really great. Can't wait!

Looks nice but i will wait for when it is cheaper and on ps4.
too many games for the end of this year to get this as well.

I generally play games on PS4, but I don't mind getting this on XB1. I don't want to wait an extra year.

Indeed, i think the game will be 1080p, it's a Xbox One exclusive so they've all the time to optimize it as best as they can with eSRAM new SDK etc, plus TR definitive edition was already 1080p on Xbone too.

Assuming the other versions aren't being developed alongside the XB1 version already, maybe.

The part where he's talking about the new facial animation system, like 5 minutes in...I watched the E3 footage and thought it looked good but didn't really scrutinize it at the time (getting it either way, loved 2013), but holy shit that looks good.

I think this is one of those games that at first glance looks really similar to the previous installment, but every time I REALLY look at it it's absolutely fucking stunning.

I doubt they're even thinking about other versions until the deal ends. They probably can't start development on those until the deal ends. The 360 version is begin ported by another studio so they have all the time to optimize it.

Looks incredible. One for I'm hoping for is the removal of that idiotic multiplayer mode, or at least get rid of the achievements tied to it.

Edit: Wow didn't take long for the thread to go to shit.

Laras face is extremely impressive. That blew me away.
The rest of the demo and the gameplay shown behind the scenes at E3 was pretty underwhelming imo. Neither the gameplay they showed nor the visuals(apart from Laras face) were exciting.
I'm very excited for the game, but I thought its E3 presence wasn't that good. The section they showed on stage was poorly choosen. It was a boring section that didn't even look good. And the gameplay they showed was pretty basic. I'd think they showed something new that shows how they are trying to evolve the gameplay over the last title, but nah.

Now this is good criticism. Have to say I agree, I'm sure it will be a good game, but they didn't showcase it very well.

Looks ok but can't hold a candle to Uncharted 4.

This is not.

Decent tech… the game looks nice, though I don't like the snow troughs left by her, nor the constant reminder of what she has to do every few seconds.

Will pick it up eventually I expect, enjoyed the first for what it was.

I agree. I'm not blown away with graphics and it seems like updated version of their remaster (as they are using same engine here) overall instead of next gen, but i'm still excited as they are looking to focus more on Tombs/puzzles this time compared to action game of reboot. Even though gameplay looks basic (which I'm not interested in this at all) but If they are bringing tombs and puzzles by going to back to roots of original tomb raider games then i will buy this when it comes to PS4.

That and Microsoft will be assisting them with development, helping them with all the technical stuff if they need it. Whether that translates to 1080p or not I have no idea

I think it looks great but I'm not blown away as well, it's still pretty though and I can't wait for it to come out, loved the reboot and if there are more puzzles here I'll be very satisfied.

With almost 4 months before release...it still on 900p...and Uncharted 4 still 8 months away already hit 1080p with much greater graphic and physic...

Looking good. I think I bout TR2013 during a sale last year can't remember. Still need to play it. I love NXgamers quest to find every little detail.

Will say there are quite a few regulars missing from this thread. Want to hear what they have to say about his breakdown.

Looks great to me. I know for sure that my brother and my fiancé (especially) are looking forward to this game as well.

Loved the last instalment, don't care about resolution, the game looks gorgeous. My biggest worry is the gameplay , I was hoping for a lot less whiny Lara but it just feels like a direct follow on.

Hope I'm proven wrong , also looking for more tombs .

That's great... no one really cares (especially the whole "much greater graphic and physics" part) .. This is TR not UC. Lets not sour the thread with a pissing match.

Fantastic. Not seeing any reason this one shouldn't be considering the remaster is 1080p save a few cut scenes.

OP should be corrected.

NXGamer is referring to the native rendering resolution, not the upscaled output resolution.

Anyway, seems cool. I thought it looked solid graphically, and they still have a bit of time left to polish even further.

Wait, so is that tweet about 1080p true? Should I add it to the OP?

Maybe some GAFers could pixel count it. I doubt NXGamer would get it wrong. My guess is Brian is referring to the output resolution (which is always up-scaled to 1080p), and not the native rendering resolution, which I think is very misleading by the way. Unless NXGamer got it wrong. But pixel counting the difference between 900p and 1080p isn't something that is generally confused.
