Wait i forgot what all this restored content thing was about... Couldn't they just have patched THAT in as well then or is it more complicated than that?

I'd really love to give it another shot (only played a little of it like 8 years ago or whatever) but can't be arsed to install numerous different mods and whatnot nowadays...

Do I need to play the first game?

Personally, I would say that you absolutely should play the first one then the second. Some of the characters carry over as well as much of what was set in motion during the first game. They try to explain it a bit, but the experience is going to be poorer for not having that understanding of the characters, their history and your own characters decisions and history in the first

It's fantastic to see mod integration and native widescreen resolution support, but it bugs me that they changed the game library title some months back from Knights of the Old Republic II to STAR WARS®:™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II - The Sith Lords™.

I don't mind having trademark logos displayed on the store page, but it's completely unnecessary for the library section of the client and cuts off text on smaller screen resolutions. Dawn of War II is another offender.

KotOR II + Deus Ex + VtM Bloodlines is the holy trinity that always needs to be kept installed.
