Parsed the list down to the official 60. Nokoru Natsu ni Hanataba o seems to be another song that's gone now, like See the Lights and America. Darn licensing.

Are there any hidden songs that aren't on the main site or select page that unlock?

No idea, but it would be pretty neat if there were. 60 songs + DLC is already kind of ridiculous.

Mine came with a reversible cover. Just regular version.

So is the cover printed on both sides? Or is there a second cover tucked in somewhere? Mine is just plain blank on one side. If I didn't really get the reversible cover, that sucks for me since I've had the game pre-ordered since April of last year!

Unlocked all the songs, and I'll confirm that there are 60 songs (got the Normal All Clear trophy).

How to unlock all the songs (I'll spoiler it but it's nothing complicated):
You unlock songs every few levels up to level 30, for a total of 57 songs. Clearing all of those songs unlocks the last 3 songs.

It's a separate piece of paper, one side with the artwork of the first trailer banner in the OP, the other side with the alternate front cover, with a DLC code on the back cover.

Wasn't inside the game box though, just came in the same package as my order.

You can see the reversible cover on the 13th picture here:

http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GAME-0010919

If you didn't get it then someone made a big mistake. I'd be more annoyed that you missed out on the DLC tbh.

60 is a lot of songs (especially considering the length of each) and nothing to complain about but I wonder if they are regretting saying "over 60 songs" for a while now.

Yep, I have it. The code is inside the game card sleeve.

Alright, I checked again. I fished the pieces of cardboard that shipped with the game from the trash---lo and it behold, the alternate cover was tucked between the 2 pieces of cardboard! LOL. So Amazon did send it to me after all.

The game is kinda freaking me out because you can't alternate hands to hit the notes, and I'm so used to that after playing so much Taiko and Project Diva.

I hope you get the DLC if you pre-ordered from PlayAsia. That's where I pre-ordered from.

You do, don't worry.

.

I have the same problem here. It seems "dual wielding" is ingrained into my brain from too much PDF. I even had to change the button colors to PS colors in Project Mirai 2 to make the game playable. I don't have the option to completely change the buttons prompts* with IA/VT. It's driving me mad.

*I think there's a button skin change option but it's not unlocking in my game. And I don't know if I can completely change the button colors.

Wait a second. Where's SEE THE LIGHTS? It was in the trailers and is basically the reason I got interested in the game at all. Don't tell me it's not in the tracklist?

Both STL & America ~We are all right!~ were dropped at last minute and they added Bokura ni Kigeki wo Misetekure in their stead. Probably something licensing related, both of these songs PVs happened to be related to that racing Super GT stuff... I think that might be why

So the main reason I bought and paid for the limited edition in full over a year ago has been sneakily removed without telling anyone. If this crap doesn't get called out by anyone I'm done pre-ordering for good.

Heh, every now and then I still make mistakes due to that.

For item unlocks: once you've got the notification that you unlocked an item, you need to go to the Item section in the main menu and get the item. So go check out the Rhythm Skin option in the Item menu to see if you have any ready to pick up. You'll also be able to see what the unlock requirements for whatever items you don't have yet. Afterwards, head to Options and change the skin to your liking. Though I don't know what you're expecting from these skins, all the ones I have right now seem like minor changes.

Man, some of these steps in Step Up mode are pretty annoying.

Good stream!

Looks like Play-Asia is the only (reasonably-priced) game in town at this point. I assume the other sold-out sites are in no way guaranteed to restock.

I'm new to importing; are there any sites that are better about getting pre-orders to you closer to the launch date? I'm rocking AmiAmi and I'm wondering if the wait is lesser at other sites. (hopefully this question doesn't belong in some obscure community thread)

I've been very looking forward to this game. I need my PD fix.

Odd, AmiAmi should have at least sent you a request for payment. They ordinarily don't accept orders beyond their allocation and regularly ship things a couple days before release in Japan (early enough that it's here roughly on release day when using EMS shipping).

CD Japan might have the slight edge on them because they authorize your payment at order time instead of when your items are in stock, but I usually go with AmiAmi regardless because their prices are usually better and they often get better exclusive items.

in my experience playasia will usually have goods delivered before or on release, but with most goods sold on the site there's quite the price premium.

nippon yasan is where I order from personally, unfortunately they can lag behind when it comes to dispatching goods, but often I find them to have the best prices and umm.. most likely to perhaps fudge the numbers on the declared item value. ^^

I find amiami is a nice middle ground, with good prices and fast dispatch, but with some what limited experience dealing with them myself, I can't speak for how reliable on the whole they might be.

That's why I went with N-Y as well, buy Play-Asia will also declare lower value if you ask. They'll even make a note in your account and do it for all future orders. Although they take the longest when you choose the cheap shipping of course

Still waiting on Nippon-Yasan to ship, hoping it happens sometime today/tomorrow. Going through the song list just makes me want it more. ;-;

Picked it up from a local seller (around 32$) and played a bit over the weekend. It's solid but the song choices probably aren't suitable for everybody. Also I get really confused by the moving goal, finding it hard to perfect any song. (my best rating was SS on the first song @ normal difficulty)

Anybody knows if a translation of the trophy list is available?

What is the song that plays during the title screen?

Inner Arts, the first song in the song list in the OP.

Made it to step 16 in Hard Step-Up mode. Step 15 was way harder than I thought it was gonna be, was stuck on that step for an hour.

Can't wait to try this. It arrived at the local delivery facility but with today being a holiday in Canada won't get it until Tuesday.

I passed up preordering, so that I could get this and Taiko shipped together.

For that, looks like I'll be waiting a week before Play-Asia even ships...

Got mines in today from AmiAmi
The alternate sleeve was just placed in with the game
no cardboard or whatever
Got a few creases on the right side during shipping

Weird. Got mine from Amiami and my alt cover had the cardboard sandwich.

Anyways, game is really, really good, and as others have said, though the song selection is a mixed bag, the sheer number of songs there makes up for it. Everything here just looks and feels super slick.

Caved and ordered from Nippon-Yasan.

Between this, and both Project Mirai DX and P4DAN next month, it's a good time to be a fan of Japanese rhythm games on portables.

Now if only they'd announce a new Project Diva

They are taking their sweet time to ship mine.
Ordered last week and it's still being prepared to ship. I guess they had to order more copies.

Anyone else that bought with Nippon-Yasan had it's copy shipped already ?

Ugh, they really dropped See The Lights? That was kinda the main reason I was even interested.

This always looked pretty rough to me in the previews, how does it compare to Project Diva?

I got a shipping email from Nippon-Yasan about 40 minutes ago.

My copy just shipped. :D
Now to wait for it to arrive.

Bought it through Nippon-Yasan too and they shipped it on the 31st but it's still on its way... wish I had picked a more expensive shipping option though, if this hits customs I'm most likely going to rot away waiting lol

Oh by the way, I've made a YT playlist of the game's tracklist a while ago that includes pretty much every song searchable on it. It's just missing a couple like Kyou ga Ame no hi Janai to Shite, Summer Songs and Promenade iirc and it's up to date with the DLC packs

I'm playing through all songs on Hard now. Not hard at all if you're not aiming for an amazing score since the game is incredibly forgiving and I have not yet once met a game over screen. In fact I'm not sure if it even exists.

My fingers are still still not accustomed to the independent button controls (by that I mean unlike Project Diva where you can alternate button inputs). I've been playing this game exclusively for days and I doubt I'll ever "cure" myself. My brain and hands just love and crave "dual wielding."

Also, while I find the game worth it, I just don't find it as enjoyable as Project Diva or even Persona Dancing sadly. As a side note, I found Persona Dancing incredibly boring until I unlocked All Night difficulty. Maybe it's because my brain is still mixing up the controls. But I think part of the reason is that the songs and note charts aren't quite as catchy. IA/VT requires more button presses than even PDF songs on Extreme yet I don't find playing the songs quite as satisfying.

I hope the game grows on me more...

There's no way to fail a song lol.

IA/VT charts have more notes cause they're a lot longer than the of songs in Project Diva, some of which are cut to a shorter length, and that double notes count twice. It's not more dense by any means.

Have you tried some of the harder songs out yet? I feel like a lot of the easier songs (pretty much all the 7* songs lol) have charts that are too simple, while I found some of the 9/10* songs to be better.

On a different note: step 16 in Hard Step-Up mode wasn't that bad, step 17, though. Not ready for that lol. Getting to and clearing step 16 is probably gonna be the hardest part about getting the plat, other than getting perfect combos on 100 different charts (and that's not that difficult either since you can get it all on Easy/Normal).

Man, I coincidentally got like 5 packages today, and the only one they left a note for instead of delivering was this one

Yeah I tried a 10* song once and I did find it hard, and I like hard but it still felt unsatisfying. Maybe I'm just a masochist that enjoys seeing game over screens and vocaloids that drop lyrics every time I make a mistake. The funny thing is that this game made me realize just how much I really enjoy playing Project Diva. Those game over screens make me want to play more, not less. Dual wielding and scratch notes make you constantly think about the best strategy that works for you.
So you decide for yourself which hand you prefer to use for this note or that. Unfortunately PDF inputs do not promote total finger independence.

IA/VT is strict about using the exact button inputs which is challenging in a good way but totally goes against my style. For one thing I hate doing very quick successive presses on one thumb beyond 3 notes, but IA/VT requires you to do many of those.

I guess the only solution to my problem with this game is to "GIT GUD" lol. Anyway my gripe is pretty shallow: "The game is fun but I don't find it quite as fun as PDF!."

I spoke too soon - Play-Asia shipped it yesterday after all. Joining the package-waiting club now.

(Probably the long-term ones, based on my shipping choice.)

Heh, nothing wrong with that. I'm not really having that much trouble with all the inputs, but I usually try to mash out easier rhythms in Project Diva using one hand and using two only when I need to.

I bought DLC songs and tried them out, and Yobanashi Deceive is so great. Why is this song not part of the base game?
