Former Harry Potter fan-podcaster does not take rejection well

Crossing Eden

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
When he says that "she never blocked me on twitter." He must not know about the "mute" button on twitter, which doesn't notify someone that you won't see their tweets anymore unlike blocking.

I've no problem with calling out someone for their shitty behaviour, but I mean, try to avoid jokes about mental illness! It's really not a great idea. Jumping to "he's mentally ill" when he could simply be a little shithead. He's like Harold Lauder.

People like this are the worst, I've encountered too many people online with these exact habits and issues, sometimes you can know a person for quite awhile before this shit starts showing through.

I've never understood this logic of being "the nice guy" and then getting all shitty and acting entitled when it doesn't pay off, who the hell thinks they have the right to be like that.
At that point you just have to tell them to fuck off and to take their rejection like a man, the problem is even when some of them are still in the "nice guy" phase, they're too into it so even if what they're saying without context seems fine, you can still feel all kinds of uncomfortable vibes.

If you're trying to hit on a girl and she flat out refuses, you stop, end of story, especially if she has a boyfriend, it's none of your goddamn business and you stay right away from them.

He wasn't a part of PotterCast was he? I remember I used to listen to that one. They even had a pretty awesome episode where J.K. Rowling herself was a guest and talked lore for like an hour.

While seeing this meltdown has been fun, I'll wait for the Mandrake recap. I'm not about to waste more time watching someone play it up.

Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(
Damn!

This is why you have to be direct with people if you're interested. They give you an answer and you back the fuck off. This cutsie-quirky bullshit people try to pull as if they're in some game only to get shutdown by people who refuse to be complicit in their own usurpation only to leave a gaping hole in their shitty pride needs to stop. People need to act like fucking adults for fucks sakes. This shit is just to shameful to read.

What's exactly the timeline?

Sends creepy message, that he says is supposed to be "Faux fanboyism"

Grace says she has a boyfriend, politely

He goes on Twitter to trash her because he can't handle rejection

???

He apologizes over a long email

Grace publicizes email

He threatens to tell her bosses for releasing private email

Internet explodes?

After politely explaining that she wasn't interested, she also blocked him on Facebook and Twitter (understandably).

That directly preceded the meltdown, likely because he couldn't believe she didn't want to talk to him.

i think they had some crossovers before cuz they were kinda like major rivals in the HP podcasting world back in the day. so you probably heard him on it.

Not even gonna lie. If someone looked up my AOL chats from back in the day I was guilty of this when I was like 13 or 14 after a breakup. But doing this to a stranger/online acquaintance? Geez that internet celebrity privilege be going to some folks heads.

So it's okay to point and laugh as long as it doesn't blow up on social media?
What's up with the constant gotcha attempts?

I would say sure. One guy is now in jail with a much better chance of receiving help for his addictions and problems. I also don't think he was actively receiving social media feedback while in a cell.

Makes sense. I hope he wasn't a guest in that episode because this thread reminded me of it and now I kinda want to listen to it again.

It isn't gotcha. Your logic isn't sound as you're clearly okay with making fun of people via the internet.

:lol I read that email starting out like "Oh well this isn't so bad he's owning up to it" "HOW U GONNA DO ME LIKE THAT I CAN HELP YOUR CAREER" "...oh."

At least it took a while for someone to assume command of the GAF defence force .
The only thing I have defended is the girl's right to be left the hell alone. Fairly obvious. Unless you are unable to make the distinction between being uneasy with internet justice and defending a guy's obvious harassment of the girl.

He has a history of harassing women and when called out on it, he triple-downed and compared feminism to Nazism.

He literally asked for it. On stream.

Guy handled it in totally the wrong way, but he should be ignored (maybe reported to facebook or twitter), not publicized. These shaming acts usually don't make them turn around and realize the error of their ways; it seems more often to spiral them into an even darker place. That's not good for anybody.

haha that clip looks so natural, no way that was scripted.

You'd be right - the director wanted to get a serious take, but the actors were having trouble keeping composure, so he decided to let them go with this kind of scene instead.

As has been said though, he has a history of harassing women who reject him. Publicizing his shame may perhaps have unfortunate side effects that I think we all agree that we don't want to happen, but it also might help to reduce the potential for harm that he could present to others.

Never said we can't make fun of him in a contained manner. You just need to be mindful that there is a line. When people actively inject themselves into this guy's life by sending him messages I definitely feel is stepping over the line.

I just don't see how this is a controversial take.

How is it obvious when you didn't mention the girl once until being called out on being on the defense?
