What spares did you get? I only got two: a black technic connector and a Gray half-connector (whatever it's called) - which leads me to the other question - what is the purpose of the two Gray half connectors that get inserted into the back part of the feet? Doesn't seem to do anything.

I got the same spares. I think the grey piece is just a little bit of greebling.

I really want the Falcon but £120 is making my eyes bleed.

How's Rey's Speeder? Slightly more in my price range.

Jang's review was pretty positive. I'll definitely get it.

I think he's got a good point about how many of the characters are based off of a lot of unknowns. I think we'll all be looking back at the first round of figs differently in six months.

I put together my Darth Vader and it is amazing. The only problem I have with it is the cape is not attached very well. I highly recommend everyone pick it up. It would be neat to see a Kylo Ren or Captain Phasma version in the future. Everyone go buy them so they make more!

Lesson learned. Feel 'em up before it's too late.

So what exactly is wrong with the neck? It's not strong enough to support the weight of the head?

The neck itself is fine for the most part. Sometimes if the head is leaning down too much the neck bends back.
The issue is where the neck meets the head. The head is so front heavy that if you have it at any kind of angle it just swings around and down to hang limp. It is so annoying.

The ball joint fix I did, and many others on here had their own fixes as well, takes care of the problem, and the set is redeemed once you can actually pose the head like you should have been able to from the start.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I have a new favorite display piece of 2015. Massive Grievous is massive.

Also, Obi-Wan's proportions are terrific. He looked a bit wonky on the box but the end result looks great. As someone else pointed out I think the fact that he's wearing armor really helps. Love the new giant light sabers.
Holy crap. That is much larger than anticipated, and he looks awesome.

There are 6 Force Awakens buildable figures coming out in December/January, so I think Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren are happening.

Don't make me desire a freaking maxifigure (that I don't collect) from a movie I don't like. That Grievous looks insane, but I think I'd want to add more detail to him. Vader is perfect (obviously) in plain black though.

At legokidsfest in austin and they havery a good selection so far. Grabbing the trex set for my son now.

Is there a site to view oop or close to oop sets? Really curious about what I should pick up while here. Beetle, Ferrari, detective, Kwik e mart?

Which is the exclusive raptor set?

Holy crap, the Grievous is seriously that huge? That's like twice the size I had been thinking these were. Kind of justifies the $35 price now. When I first scrolled to these pics, I thought they were pics of the UCS Grievous that came out years ago. When I get mine in the mail next week, I'll have to take some comparison pics and see just how close in size it is to the UCS one, as it's going to be much closer than I expected.

He really is that huge. Another picture for scale.

I have apparently ZERO willpower. Went out to pick up some meat & booze for a pool party we're hosting, came back with meat, booze & Kylo Ren's ship. Arg.

Interesting to note that Vader was totally sold out (they had 5x more of him initially than the other ones). I bet he gets really hard to find soon.

YES! I have a feeling that I might get Grevious and Obi-Wan in the near feature also.

I wonder who the 6 will be?

Kylo Ren
Phasma
Finn
Rey
Poe
Chewie?

It would be amazing if we could get a BB-8 with Rey or Finn

I kind of hope they don't include that many straight up human figs in that wave, as it seems that Luke is clearly the weakest of wave 1 and including 3 more in wave 2 that could suffer the same issues as him doesn't seem ideal, to me, anyway.

Do we even know if all 6 will be from the new movie, or just that wave 2 will contain the first characters from the new movie? I believe we've already seen the new stormtrooper is being made, have we not, or am I thinking of something different? Kylo and Phasma seem like good choices. If they're going to mix in older characters, as well, Boba Fett seems logical as a simple color swap of Jango along with a few accessory changes to make. Chewie could be interesting as I'd like to see how they would handle giving him a furry look or texture. There must be some they'd do of characters we have yet to even be shown from the movie, like other droids since, as Grievous has shown, that type works well in this form.

I chose Vader because he seems like the most well rounded. Hes not quite as big as grevious, but he's less gapy and has a huge cape. Also the build of his chest is simply amazing. So many technic bits. I'll probably get grevious down the line but I'm on a tight lego budget right now.

Try pinning the cape behind the shoulder armor. That's what I did and it works well.

Yes, a Stormtrooper will be one of the upcoming 6 figures.

so how's everyone enjoying their constraction sets? I hope this new line helps pull more people into the system, though I I am guessing it won't change many minds.

From what I've seen online the new sets (mostly just grevious and Vader) are making waves among the lego community that bionicle and hero factory never did. Guess it took the star wars name to finally do that. Also that the two big sets are aesthetically some of the the best constraction sets ever

Vader is pretty decent. His torso construction was weird from someone who's collected Bionicle for so long. Grievous looks too bare to me though. Might grab Cody.

Ah I guess so. Strange greebling. Yeah I never know what spares they give. Like it's usually one of each of the small pieces but the black technic connector is the same as the blue and red 2 stud long ones. Eh, one of those mysteries of Lego I suppose.

But yeah such a cool set. Is this basically what bionicle is?

I'm going to all over that Force Awakens Stormtrooper when it comes out. Looks so cool to me. I'll pass on the rest of the current ones. I would get a Bobafett too (seems like a no brainer to make if they've already made jango).

Received my S@H order today which, among other things, had my 20 monster CMF with it. I fared pretty well in my breakdown getting 12 unique ones and only 8 doubles.

Ones I still need -

Catwoman
Gargoyle
Zombie Businessman
Lady Vampire

Ones I got extras of -

Crazy Scientist - 3
The Fly - 1
Specter - 1
Skeleton Guy - 2
Frankenstein - 1

All in all, much more please with this breakdown than the last time I ordered a bunch from S@H (where I only got 9 unique and 13 doubles of series 13).

I don't really have the money to make too many Lego purchases, but I had a £30 gift card and decided to buy me some today. The guy in the store showed me the big Darth Vader, and was trying to convince me it was a good purchase, showed me the finished thing, etc. I was impressed but really wanted something Force Awakens, so I went with Rey's Speeder instead.

Did I goof? I really like having a little mini Rey on my desk though. Those lego freckles!

Anyone build Poe's X-Wing? Anxious to here GAF impressions, hopefully someone says it's terrible and convinces me it's not worth it. It's not happening that way, is it?

Got my Wall-E today from Amazon today. I'm just uncertain what exactly TLG is going to do with this set so i'm playing it safe and Phon's neck fix seems easy enough. I just have to fight the urge to build it because I got other sets I need to work on first. I think I will save it for a nice chilly December holiday build.

I have the Vader build-able and I've found if you put his cape on felt side out it helps keep it draped on his body. I had it the other way before and it kept folding up. YMMV but hope this helps some of those who have seen it!

I don't have either, but you went with your heart. That's the important thing. Rey's Speeder looks awesome, I haven't picked it up yet.

The Lego action figure system is fantastic and blends really well. Due to the single-piece heads, the Star Wars figures look like outright SH Figuarts until you pick them up and realize they are Lego pieces.

I like the Vader a lot. It has literally nothing in common with the Figuart besides having a Vader helmet.

Except they look really great and are excellently pose-able. Without the head, they look like beefed-up Bionicle, but when you put the single-piece head on they look just like the real deal. It's magnificent.

Not denying that Vade looks cool and most of these look cool but they aren't Figuart/Revoltech quality.

Picked up Temple of Arijitzu, Wall-E, and General Grievous. ToA absolutely blew me away, both the build and the finished set is an absolute joy to behold. I couldn't recommend it any higher and along with the Scooby Doo Haunted Lighthouse, it's my favorite set I own.

Wall-E was a bit of a boring build but as expected, he looks perfect. I'll have to do the neck mod ASAP though.

The Genreal Grievous figure is, well, kinda embarrassing. I think the whole line looks like ugly, cheap toys (where as mainline Lego is classy and timeless). I feel the same way about Bionicle though, soo if you like Bionicle feel free to ignore my opinion! :)

This thread and the Morro Dragon build is pushing me to make Temple of Airjitsu my double vip point purchase. I was going to wait till brickfriday but looking back last year was a complete bust so just planning on small order to get the free holiday set.

Guys I'm screwed.

I haven't touched Star Wars Lego in 14 years. I once got a box of clonetroopers from a Wal-Mart manager and eventually sold them for $700 to pay for car parts when I was 16....

I saw the Falcon and Poe's X-Wing at Target today. I'm in trouble. I want them. Now. And I know once I enter that dark doorway again, Lego will have me where they want me. UCS Slave I almost got me this year, but I can't resist much longer.

Tell me it will all be okay and I don't need them. Please. Tell me.

Good luck kid.... You're gonna need it!

Ok just finished up the wall e set. I see what you guys mean about the head. How does this not get caught in the design?

I might just stick some tape around the technic connection to tighten it up.

Edit: a little bit of tape makes it better but not awesome. Good enough though.

I still think there's a bit of missed opportunity to actually build a shoe for the plant to go in.

Edit2: the cock roach should've come in brown. And any reason they didn't put an external light grey wheel over the front wheel? It looks missing. I mean they could've done something similar like space out a half space and use a small disc if the treads got in the way.

Im still 50/50 on the new star wars sets. i saw them in person yesterday and nothing screamed "buy me". If I didn't already have the last falcon I might be singing a different tune. They do look good I just think I my hype level for the new movie is set to "cautiously optimistic". I am considering getting the Xwing and putting together a second one in grey/white/blue though.
