Told her to scout an outpost ahead while I took care of something. When I caught up, I see this(I had her set to fire at will and forgot).

Entire thing neutralized already. S ranks everywhere.

OK. I foresee a nerf coming.

Sorry, but is Mission 6 bugged?
Because there's no way I can S rank it.

I did:
-no checkpoints used
-no kills
-no alerts
17 minutes completition
-no missiles used
-2 hit taken

116000 points, A rank.

I tried three times, can't get an S rank. Than I saw this:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/718564-metal-gear-solid-v-the-phantom-pain/72434723

People took 50 minutes, got a S rank.
Other took 2 hours, got A rank.

I think there's something wrong in this mission, maybe online mode interfer with the score?

Speed is the most important factor in S-rank.

Get it under 15 minutes. That will probably secure S-rank for you. As that other guy said, though, 130K is it, too.

wow, there's some serious issues with a chapter 2 cutscene causing the fox engine to go haywire. Thankfully it doesn't seem to crash anything.

I had a cutscene run at 1-3 fps, and a couple of others at ~15 fps

On a pc that runs the game maxed out at 60fps lol

Even then he's forced to make an F.O.B. even if he has no intention to use it to get the Konami bonuses. The tutorial won't stop until you make an F.O.B. and then do the tutorial invasion. If you have no intention of using that mode, you're still forced to "participate" in building a base someone can invade online.

Yes, it's royally stupid they FORCE you into what should a completely optional and switch on/off (people that don't mind being invaded while "offline" can leave the switch on) mode.

One of these days Konami From Software and others that copy that stupid invasion bullshit will get it right and let people that want that gameplay turn it on and the rest that want to enjoy the game without have to worry about bullshit can leave it off. Those that want to test around can toggle it on/off as they please.
Yeah, but FOB resources are separate from mother base so much that if you never touch the FOB menu you'll never notice anything.

Guys please be careful talking about chapter 2/end game missions stuff.

Some of us are taking our time with the game, and others have just started. Talking about Quiet is okay since she is relatively early on and is featured in trailers - but keep anything post mission 15-20 and onwards in spoiler tags.

kthx.

This. I accidentally read something from Chapter 2 about Quiet I think. Stuff I really didn't want to read.

It's a long game and it will take many people a long time to finish it. If you can be bothered going into the Spoiler Thread for that shit, please do.

Very minor mid-story spoiler, R&D:
Where is the door to enter the Battle Gear Hangar? I'm looking all over the place and can't find it. It doesn't help that R&D looks like a maze.

Does anyone find it weird how during Mission 18
Miller is telling you "You've got to save the kids!", "If one of those kids die the mission is over", than the second we get back to Mother Base, Miller says he "never liked kids" and shits all over them.

Miller isn't right in the head it seems.

If you don't build anything there, nobody will invade (*knock on wood*) but until Kojima productions/Konami adequately explains WHAT you lose if someone invades (just the F.O.B./security team and stuff on the F.O.B.?) so people would stop being paranoid, I can't blame people for this totally forced upon them "OPTIONAL" mode they don't want being paranoid.

OK. I foresee a nerf coming.

Why would they nerf her? Hell the soldiers that get a clue on where she's firing from (you're bad commanding her) will have them flush her out/make her move. The only thing that would need to be nerfed is her one-man Rambo act on clearing the entire base, but it's too fucking hilarious to nerf really. Double so when the soldiers get helmets to where they should pretty much go into cover when one of them gets their helmet blown off instead of staying in the open "cover" and still getting sniped right after.

Do the vehicles you fulton appear anywhere on mother base? I only just unlocked that feature and I'm looking forward to building my collection.

As far as I can tell, no. Haven't seen them stored anywhere on the base itself. You can view the "collection" in the customize menu though.

It's among the lowest level. Put night-vision goggles on, you'll see the door.

He sure sounds like he secretly likes kids, especially a bit later on

Miller isn't right in the head it seems.

But this is true too lol

You don't have to like children to not want them murdered.

Woah, 130k are a LOT of points. Only thing I can do is turning off Reflex mode, I have no other ideas (I don't like playing with video, but thanks, at least now I know how many points I need).

It's 130k on every mission.

Also, time is a huge factor, speed up for lots more points. Some missions you can just rambo it and make up for lack of no reflex/stealth etc bonus by just being so fast.

Well, I just finished Episode 31, and I gotta say,
Sahelanthropus is probably in my top three Metal Gear boss fights. That was incredible!

if you do it, you deprive yourself of the best part of the story.
well it's not like that's saying much, but still it's an very important scene.

Wait how do you mean this?

If you do the thing so she doesn't leave do you miss out on an important scene? or do you miss the important scene if you don't keep her around?

You can deploy them on missions or sell them. But as far as them being on Mother Base, I haven't seen tanks being stored on the struts anywhere. Maybe the Jeeps that you fulton are used for the traveling between struts but the extras? Haven't seen them either.

Post mission 35-ish cutscene question:

I just returned to Mother Base and a cutscene played with
Code Talker next to the heli platform talking about a secret meeting between containers, and that the ocelot's aim is off today
.

I feel that this is important, but I don't see anything on the map. Should I be going somewhere?

did a couple of things for the past few hours: some side-ops and built the 2nd deck platforms for all my units (I'll work on the 3rd deck for my Command platform later today). Also did some dispatch missions. Actually managed to fail an E difficulty dispatch mission and it was a medical assistance mission >.< Last time I'll send an D-E squad to get things done :p At least nobody died.

And since online was actually working, I checked out the online dispatch missions. The time to complete those seem a tad excessive.

You don't get the end if her story until she leaves. You can prevent her leaving my using the butterfly emblem and when you want to resolve her story just take that emblem off.

I got that after finishing 46, I don't know if anything happens with it tbh =/

So I had a full bond with DD and retried mission 9 to get the
cybernetics specialist
.

I stole a cargo truck to get to the
tanks
faster and started driving. About 3 minutes later I go around a turn and DD comes running directly towards the truck. I tried to hit the brakes but it was too late, I ran him over. Bond Level decreased.

I got it back up in the next mission, but man I felt so bad.

Wait, really? Without requesting a supply drop? I just go to my iDroid and give her the commands and she'll just show up?

Well she still comes as an air drop, but its a single command. Just go to iDroid and select Quiet (scout) and she'll be at the designated point.

I only took the one kid with me because the chopper spotted me and expected the mission to fail or something because the other 4 kids where down in the river somewhere.
Everything was fine and got an A rank, i laughed for a bit after that.

You can 100% definitely lose staff from your single player. I've been invaded while offline a few times and when I connect I have R+D or Support or Intel levels lower from the staff that got killed or extracted (mostly killed).

It shows you exactly what happens in text form and lists all the injuries. My security team are all E rank since I put any useful on stuff that cntributes directly to single player, yet I have Bs and As killed so they're coming from my other teams.

I only have a command deck on FOB.

I'm 100% sure can lose resources too (including that oh so needed fuel), just that a command deck has no room for containers, which an invader could fulton out.

no, because
not liking kids is different from being okay with them dying. i don't like kids but i wouldn't want one to die.

Ya, I used reflex, got spotted, killed some people, and used the checkpoint 3 times, But since I tranq most of the people and got all the kids out I got an S rank.

You just have to bring a buddy on a mission to bond, right? Or is there something else to do?

Also, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain |OT2| It plays like a damn fiddle

First thing I do now when I fire up TPP:

Left touchpad- options- disconnect. Fuck that FOB shit, someone invaded my completely undermanned base and ruined my 30 min run of a main mission.

Does it kick you back to a checkpoint? Or do you get to pick up right where you left off?

Is there a way to make all new Mother Base staff go to the waiting room first instead of being assigned automatically? I want to be able to filter them and lock in specialists into the team they're suited for, and get rid of troublemakers before they cause trouble.

No, I tried to ignore it because I was into aa full stealth run and once I heard that, my whole game was thrown off. Got caught, was in a firefight then I died. I raged quit until this morning. All because that fucking FOB alert.

Anyone else have major problems trying out the online features? It feels like a total mess. Constant disconnects. I haven't been able to try the FOB stuff even once.

I can't even imagine what it would be like if MGO did release on time.

Maybe I'm better off not doing any of that anyway if it can get in the way of SP content thanks to constant invading or something.

Yeah the Konami servers for me are fried too. I was only able to login once one day after launch, thankfully I imported my GZ save immediately.

So I've been missing out on all the daily bonuses (I tried logging in every day since launch). At least I haven't unlocked the FoB yet.
