Great-looking shot. :)

The game has reflections for HUD elements (Player signs). Pretty inconsequential, but I thought it was a funny detail.

I knew something looked different about the 22B, AND that something looked bad about the 22B in the past three games, but what exactly was wrong/got fixed? I can't put my finger on it.

It still looks wrong, I had to chuckle when I saw it.

Someone please explain to me: I've finished the demo, unlocked Rivals, beat a rival in Rio. No Replay options showed up.

Go to Rivals and view the leaderboards for one of the events, pick a gamertag and load their replay.

Review done and ready to go up after embargo is cleared. That gives me some time to sleep and jump back in lol. And watch some of my high scores get trounced. It was good to be ok even if it was just amongst some journalists lol

rain racing is so lame. driving through a puddle is not enjoyable.

the golf R is an understeering POS.

graphics are awesome for this hardware. imagine what Turn 10 could do with a top tier PC graphics card.
I'll agree with this, I think the hydroplaning is a bit overdone. Even at low speed the car violently pulls to one side which I've never experienced in real life. It's a cute gimmick but one that I would appreciate much more if it were toned down a little.

I'm in the top single digit percentile in that track with no assists except manual/semi-auto but it's just a bit annoying how over blown the effects of the puddles/lakes/oceans are.

Hmm. Have yet to have that issue and I have over 40 hours in it. I mean at first before I understood how to handle it I slid around but now its no where near overdone or even close to violent its exactly like it is in real life. Then again I spend almost all my weekends hydroplaying lol.. Maybe I need a faster car or something. As someone who lives in a rainy state its been identical to real life which seems odd your seeing such a violent reaction. Maybe settings are different.

Man, reading this thread and looking at the photos makes me so jealous of everyone. I'm not a sim person and was never that good at the Forza/GT games. I guess that's what Let's Plays are for, so I can live vicariously through all of you.

Do yall know if the game has an hyundai tiburon in it? I always love driving my own car.
I had that car for a few years (with that pathetic "look everyone, mine is huuuge!" rear wing), it's not in the game, but the Hyundai Genesis is, which is somewhat of the overpowered spiritual successor. GT6 has 2 Tiburons I think.

Exactly, In real life you can be driving the speed limit 35 or 40mph in the rain and if you're too close to curb where the water puddles you will defiantly get sucked in and slowed down. Couldn't imagine hitting a puddle a 80/90mph. I found it very true to life.

Ya even the grip across both the surface and the edge were right down to the tire grab and back end slide. Manageable for the most part but I could see it being overpowering with specific setups.

No. Just a Genesis and a Veloster right now.
I wish it had the Rspec Genesis Sedan. That's what I have. Would have loved that.

I just completed the demo.

I really don't play racers outside of arcade, so I figured I wanted to see how Forza 6 has evolved since Forza 2.

Really changed my opinion about the Indy 500 as when the track was loading I thought, "Great. How excited am I playing a game turning left and going straight for 7 laps?" Not really.

Holy shit.

The intensity of accelerating to 210+ is something I have not felt from a racer from a long time. Seeing things zoom by within split seconds of each other just gets the adrenaline pumping.

I could have not been more surprised.

I'm going to go play it again soon and try out the other vehicles. The Toyota car felt within my expectations. Somewhat unresponsive on acceleration, and the interior looks like what a Toyota car is.

I think that wing was in the older models? I have an 08 GT the wing is really nothing

I think if someone were to mod that section by turning the track with some arcade elements, it'd probably be the next F-Zero game that GAF always wanted.

Going around Daytona at night with 23 other gaffers in Indycars sounds like pure gaming bliss.
And the ones driving backwards will make it plenty like F-zero

I had a 2005 S2000 that I sold after getting caught in a rain storm. That was the last year before it went drive by wire, which introduced traction control. Without traction control I was all over the place on the freeway. There was no one around in the section between Phoenix and Flagstaff, I slowed down to 3ish, but a few times I had involuntary lane changes, and I had the top rated summer tire for rain at the time.

Lightweight RWD and no traction control will absolutely make a car dance like that with a big/deep enough puddle.

My refusal to go digital with this game has me buying the regular edition + VIP and car pass once it's available. It's unlikely to cost me more than the Ultimate Edition because I got a good deal on my Forza 6 pre-order but the extra 5 day wait is going to sting.

How many other people are doing the same thing as me? Maybe we can form a support group to get through Sept 10 - 15 lol.

Physical for me, between getting the game for $48 day one and getting what amounts to a $10 gift card I just cant go digital.

You want squirrelly?

I once drove my corvette, back around 2002, in a snow storm to my girlfriend's place. Ice and a few inches of snow on the roads.

That was an adventure....a really, really slow adventure.

Rain didn't bother much, but I always drove well under the speed limit in pouring/heavy rain.

Same boat over here, have not seriously played a Forza game since 2, and only dabbled a bit into 3 and the demo for 4.

I had a lot of fun driving in this one. The tracks look great and both the rain and F1 races were really exciting.

Definitely agree. I have a C350 CDI which is around 1.7ton and when I set off back from work last week after it rained, it aqua plained at 20mph on a roundabout and the back end flew out. That's with a big car with TCS firmly on.

I bought my Genesis and about 2 days later we had the worst snow the state has seen in years. I went from a front wheel drive Sonata that could go anywhere anytime. To my car I couldn't get out of my own driveway. LOL. All TCS and shit on. Did nothing.

I don't think that's squirrelly, I think that's pucker factor.

I spun the S2000 a few times by being overzealous with the gas, but driving pretty slowly in a downpour was the only time I felt I had absolutely no control over the car. After daily driving it for 3 years, that was the beginning of the end.

It turned into an E46 M3, which turned into a Mk6 GTI, which turned into a F56 Cooper S - but I still think about that S2000 at least once per day.

I buy 99% of my games through best buy GCU as well but I went digital for Forza 6 thanks to the Sugar Crisps promo running in US stores. Buy a box of Sugar Crisps with the correct front cover (it says save $10 on microsoft games) and its $10 off a $25 digital xbl credit from microsoftstore.com. I bought 8 of em so $200 of xbl credit for $120, or $100 F6 ultimate for $60 which is a pretty good deal for a day zero digital game.

In my area safeway is running a sale on Post cereal, $1.79 a box but its a big YMMV of course on what the price is in your area or if they even have the cereal boxes with the microsoft promo still there. Its ONLY the yellow Post Sugar Crisps

and no i didn't eat the cereal and get diabeetus, kept one to try out (its gross) and donated the rest.

No shit? You aren't kidding, that is a seriously planted car, especially with TCS. Really goes to show how much the weather wins.

Someone is gonna do a review thread right?

Whatever the scores its going to be mayhem.

If it wasn't first thing in the morning I'd entertain myself with downing a shot everytime driveclub is mentioned and a pint everytime someone is banned.

Man, it sucks for me that Best Buy isn't doing release day delivery for the game. I have to wait until the 16th and then wait for my copy to arrive before I'll be able to play it.

...but the GCU discount is too great to ignore.

Oooh, reviews coming in 2 hours. I predict about 85-88ish on metacritic. FM6 should receive fairly solid reviews.

:O
