Where you at? Do you have Game planet or Gamers on your city? Game Planet has been very decent with nintendo stuff for me in the past, got Smash, Splatoon and (tomorrow) SMM on launch day no problem, and Smash 3d i didn't even pre order.

The only thing they fail at is Amiibos, they literally, LITERALLY only stock the preorders for them they get.

Gamers usually stock Nintendo stuff with no problem either (tho i dunno how they fare with Amiibos) and when in doubt, you always have Blockbuster too!

Mega mushroom and costumes for the enemies, it's not required for anything else and frankly the mega mushroom seems to game breaking to actually want it in many levels.

I usually bought from Sanborns because I have one in just a 10 minute walk from where I live. I went to preorder the game on saturday and they didn't take any preorders, that I must wait until friday to purchase it and yet they are still not 100% sure if they are getting the game at all tomorrow so that's why I'm kinda worried. And yeah Gameplanet employees are actual amiibo scalpers. I recognized a guy who works there and I discovered he was selling a Palutena and a Dark Pit for around $700 pesos each in a fb group dedicated to sell videogames. I recognized him and ugh... and unfortunately the 8-bit Mario amiibo is a Gameplanet exclusive... Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Any Canadians know where I can get a deal on this and if it sells with the amiibo? I need this game l, maybe I'll just buy the amiibo tomorrow morning.

Not that I should be surprised but they went to town with the presentation and front end of this game. So many nice touches.

Can somebody post that image with all of the elements missing from SMM? I can't find it. Kinda disappointing, but maybe we'll see expanded features in a a sequel.

3 levels so far in this 100 Mario run have all been flat long runs to the goal post. I'm talking zero enemies, just an entirely flat level with nothing to do but run. Not cool, guys.

Edit: Make that 4. The Bowser castle was too, basically.

Same here, I don't know why it's so expensive here.

Nintendo's agent in Scandinavia, Bergsala, is known for extortionate prices. Back when I worked in retail (up to 2012), I was told by the KAM that "you can charge more for Nintendo games because they are, well, Nintendo games". I haven't been in contact with the company for a few years now, so I don't know if this mindset is still deployed. But if so, it could be another reason as to why Super Mario Maker is so costly in Sweden.

Also, I was hoping for a parcel in the mailbox today, but there was unfortunately nothing but flyers.

You didn't star them did you? Hopefully once more people start playing, the wheat gets sorted out from the chaff.

You gave them a star, right? :p

There are some truly sick fuckers out there.

Wat, why??

Why the heck people upload levels like that?? I guess they were just testing and created something extremely simple and random to see how it works???

Still no shipment confirmation for me yet. Amazons never let me down before but usually I've gotten an email from them by now.

Are there already levels of block people having sex?

No but sadomasochism is in eager number on both sides.

Also the Amiibo integration is amazing. It's quite surreal to play a Mario level as Sonic and hear the Sonic 3 stage complete jingle.

Want the art book but this seems like a game you'd want on your system at all times so I think I'll buy a Wii U game digitally for the first time!

Seems like the US retail version is shitty anyway.

So, spent a good hour or so messing about with the basic assets and made what I think is a halfway decent course. Got this code when I uploaded it...

25E1-0000-0011-DE8B

Does that mean other users can find it and play it using this? If so, try it out! There's a few safer alternative routes and hidden paths for more cautious players and more daring time-saving jumps, the maps pretty suitable for speedrunning too! Curious to see what you all think. Didn't focus on a kaizo hard as fuck level, went for one that felt more natural.

EDIT: Oh! There's a search icon in the top right corner when you select "courses" in "Course World"

besides having to have the creator beat the level, there should also be a minimum for items placed...even though some people would still be able to create flat levels with just blocks in the air...maybe should require x amount of a of block/platform and x hazard/enemies or something

I saw this happen a lot in Hitman: Absolution's contracts. In that game, you bought upgrades for gear with money you earned from contracts, so people would create contracts by going into a level, marking the first person they saw, killing them, then leaving the level immediately. Zero challenge and you get some money out of it.

In this case I would guess the incentive to creating blank runs is to steamroll 100-man mario mode to unlock costume mushrooms.

Just picked up Mario Maker at my local Best Buy. They are terrible with street date, they did this with Smash as well. Too bad the earliest I can play it is tonight anyway.

I should note that I did preorder it, but they aren't supposed to sell it yet, right?

How did you manage that? I thought that their sale system prevented games from being sold prior to release date.

When you buy digitally you can still get the art book physically. Details are on the digital receipt.

can't wait to see all those levels
and apparently there's v1.01 already in japan

•Condition(s) for increasing the amount of useable parts (in the level editor) were added.

i wonder what that 2nd point means

I saw someone who said that you could now unlock stuff by just playing for 2-3 hours, instead of having to wait each day. I've only seen one person say it though, so someone with the game will have to let us know if it's true.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh! Nintendo.co.uk shipped my order yesterday via Yodel. Looks like it's been sat in London since then, estimated delivery: Monday the 14th.

Well it didn't take me long to succumb to moving the date forward, I've at last completed my time travelling and now the real Mario Maker begins.
Of course this now also means I'm spoilt for choice, the perils of time travel.

Guys, I just got day 2's stuff delivered without changing the clock.

Got a notice a while ago about a delivery soon, now about 10 minutes later it arrived. "That was sooner than expected!" it said.

oh, maybe it rewards extensive editor play? something added with 1.0.1 perhaps?

I guess. So far I've done 10 Mario mode once, 100 Mario mode once, and now I've just about finished my first basic level and boom, items.

So, how, exactly, do you use amiibo with this game? When do you scan them to register the costume?

I'd like to scan mine before doing my first 100 Mario Challenge, just to avoid unlocking someone I have the amiibo of already.

So they were right then! I'm glad they changed it.
