CoroCoro Pokemon Info: New Zygarde Forms, New Anime (XY & Z)

Wouldn't releasing in the Spring get in the way of Pokken for Wii U? And potentially Pokemon Go?

Spring in games terms is most commonly May.

If it comes in February, then that's 3 months beforehand so not really.

GO is the issue, but they are separate things. If they have a Black2/White2 and Dream Radar sort of relationship, then it's possible to release around similar times, even though it'd make my life hell :p

The fact is, they wouldn't shift to this and reveal these 4 new Zygarde forms if they were over a year away, unless TPC has gone batshit crazy.

Going off my previous post of the final form looking like a fusion of the other 2, maybe the new game will be called XYZ since that's the legendaries he looks like.

There's definitely something going on with the Zygarde Perfect Form. The look and use of Yveltal's and Xerneas' colors is clearly not an accident either. Whether it's a fusion or just to keep a theme as the trio master, I'm not sure.

I also didn't expect the green blob to actually be Zygarde. I was buying into the living megastone theory.

So now it has four forms and one is called cell form and the other perfect. Seems like a rip off of Digimon and DBZ. Must be running out of ideas...just saying.

There's only so many ways you can do alternate forms man.

Going off how we got a big game this February, I'm guessing this is going to take MH4U and MM3D's spot next year. When was the last time they did a year between reveal of a new game/new Pokemon and the game's release? D/P?

It has to be intentional that a thing made from individual green cells eventually reaches perfect form(e) in a game potentially called Pokemon Z.

Hoopa is the lowest-grossing Pokemon film released in Japan.

TPC ain't going to drag this generation any longer for the sake of a standalone Volcanion film. Probably going to be in the next one with the new Zygarde form.

I really doubt Zygarde was ever going to get its own movie.

At this point I don't think Z is gonna be a director's cut like thing like they do usually. I guess it'll be more like Black 2 and White 2, and still take place in Kalos with a different, and possibly continued story.

I think them releasing another main game takes away focus from Go, to be honest, which I think is an early summer title since it's perfect for summer vactions and kids who just got out of school.

Yeah, but they didn't intentionally do that as so. Munchlax was meant to be a year away from release, but then Diamond & Pearl were delayed from 2005 into 2006.

I suppose that is Mega-greninja and they're just avoiding the name yet.

But with it looking similar to Ash and putting some focus on it, maybe some Kalos mega evolution will have some level of customization? (like pikachu costumes or maybe some color changes)

Ash seems to be getting Mega Sceptile (or rather the mega stone to mega evolve his old sceptile), so that's unlikely

Sadly, he's still not winning the league even with that beastly team.
Sure they'll just have him go up against a guy who uses six legendaries. That's fair.

I think its possible depending on where they plan on taking the anime next.
I thought they were leaning towards that in Diamond & Pearl when they made a conscious effort of introducing the Elite Four and explaining how the Pokemon League works in the animeverse (the winner of the tournament gets to challenge the Elite Four one-by-one, then the champion) but nope, Ash vs. Darkrai

This is so NOT happening. Time to let go of that dream because it's over.

Why do you say that? It is the 20 year anniversary of RGB. 1st gen is the most popular generation. Just showed off there new mobile game featuring only 1st gen Pokemon. Potentially new Nintendo hardware. What better way to make a splash with new hardware then with a game people wont stop asking for. Everything is lining up!

I stil don't think it's a new mega or new form. Until we get word otherwise, I think it's just a weird mutation like Spikey-Eared Pichu. Either that and it's some weird anime only thing about the power of friendship affecting Greninja during evolution or something like that.

I have been interested to see stuff like pokken and pokemon go as it seems like game freak is pushing themselves and the brand, but all of this stuff looks terrible, honestly. I hope it doesn't come to the games.

Zygarde's dog from is like the least egregious to me.

Zygarde's knight form looks exactly like a digimon and a humanoid one at that. I think its abysmal and I have been fine with alot of the "overdesigning mega evos".

Greninja's form on its own seems harmless but human mixes are another very digimone-sque thing and while not bad on its own, it seems really random when mega evos are still new and fresh. So if it does hit the games I wont be happy.

Pokemon has had a love for giving new forms and the like for legendaries since 4th gen and while I havent been a huge fan, its never bothered me too much as I rarely do anything with legendaries; after seeing this however it feels like a culmination of all I havent liked about the new form obsession and hope this is a phase and nothing more.

If they're showing off the new Zygarde forms now then the Z announcement can't be far off. I also don't think they'd make us wait a full year past the announcement so now I'm expecting it to launch in Q1 2016.

XY had enough Kanto/gen 1 pandering and there was even an anime celebrating R/G. It doesn't need any more.

The 'XY & Z' name of the season screams that the next game won't be called Z per se. They wouldn't introduce the anime early like that if that was the case. I guess it could be ZX or ZY, or something on that effect, but I have a feeling the "flowers" comment has something to do with the games' naming.

It looks like we may have been overthinking Blobby. Wonder if there are even more forms. Zygarde 100% looks much better than I expected. Nice, sort of simple design that manages to look quite menacing.

Seeing Zygarde featured this way in the anime has me thinking about their plans. Was the movie teaser not necessarily referring to M19? Or is the season going to lead to the next movie? More importantly, I'm surprised by the anime introducing a "new" Pokémon in a way like this. It's pretty unprecedented for the series in modern times.

I don't think the next game is going to star Zygarde. If that is to release in the first half of 2016, it is just strange to imagine the anime using its elements in advance.

Could Greninja be a hint for variant Pokémon? They've been a matter of discussion for a while now, and this would be a way to enrich the ecosystem of the next game if Gen 7 isn't introduced yet. Even though most players will already have access to all regular and Legendary Pokémon, variants will add a new layer of complexity that could motivate catching Pokémon. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that surely seems like a fitting gameplay element for a more general 20th Anniversary game.

It almost certainly will. There is no doubt about that whatsoever.

So? lol. That doesn't mean anything. Gamefreak is gonna do whatever is gonna make them the most money. Nintendo will also do what it needs to do.

That Greninja looks like it merged with a Zoroark.

My god, fusion evolutions incoming!

It's supposed to look a bit like ash and his clothing. The question is why.

GameFreak takes quite a bit of time to make new games and to adopt new hardware. To think that they're not only going to do Z, but RGB remakes in the same year and do those RGB remakes on new handhelds seems really farfetched to me. Possible? Yes, but not likely.

Nah, he'll just lose against some guy using Mega Rayquaza and nothing else LOL

Pretty much one of the reasons why I really don't give a shit about the anime. I have no reason to get invested in an idiot protagonist who doesn't develop nor actually accomplish anything meaningful, especially if the writers aren't remotely subtle about keeping things that way.

Now, the Pokemon Adventures manga? That's the platinum standard, right there.

Yeah, I didn't noticed Sceptile there. It does makes sense and 2 megas would be overkill.

It might be something like that, but this one is just too different.
Maybe just a costume like pikachu for the 6th gen starters? (I really want to see some 6th gen megas)

man i still hate the fact thats how he lost in DP anime, ash was actually alright in the DP series and then the writers feel like they had to throw some hacker whos team was full of legendarily pokes

at least it wasn't as bad as BW

Pokemon Adventures is amazing yes.

But honestly, my joke is that Ash got to the point where they can't just use bullshit legendaries to beat him, they have to use the only POkemon to ever get banned from all tiers of play on Smogon
