Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC revealed ($20), November 2015, game sells 2 million

My friends controller vibrated off a table while playing bloodborne the other day so that doesn't sound right.

Dunno. I have the digital version of Bloodborne, vibration works in other games, and even works on the PC using DS4windows. Not a single rumble since getting BB at launch. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wait, they're releasing the game with the DLC in physical form?! Is that available for pre-order now?? I'll definitely get it!!

Also, I'm assuming it's a safe bet to say this is the only DLC BB will receive then?

So Gherman is Hitler and Micolash is Gobbells?

wtf, hahaha

I was thinking about something more focused on the battlefield itself than some grand scale story. Limited resources, trying to stay alive, experiments being made on half-dead soldiers, coming across a seemingly abandoned village that is actually home to some crazy cult.

Maybe the first war would be better for this kind of stuff, I think.

I'm disturbed by the idea that the horrible horse head boss is Ludwig.
What the heck happened? =S

By the way, I hate to sound like a prick, but does anyone else think Vaatividya is a little over-rated? His trailer analysis was wafer-thin. He just seems to pick up tidbits of information/rumours/expressions from elsewhere while "coining" a bunch of terrible names for new weapons and such.

I probably just have high expectations and I'm sure a bunch of people like his stuff, but he could polish up his writing at least... "That's what Bloodborne lacks and... that's what I hope Bloodborne adds..."

Just made these quick wallpapers for those interested.

I've been needing a new desktop for a while; thank you!

Anyway, taking a closer look at the seated figure; his clothes are very ornate. That's a very "Cainhurst" thing, even if he's wearing the a Hunter's Workshop-esque tricorn. I'm 99% sure we'll be learning about the betrayal of Byrgenwerth and this guy's involved.

Also, even if Ludwig is a very grotesque boss, I like how he still seems to be in the process of transforming. I don't think we'll ever get to see him as a human, but his monstrous form can still give us hints about what he used to look like; which I think is really effective storytelling for the videogame medium. From the trailer, Ludwig still seems to be wearing his Executioner's cowl. It's also really cool and disturbing that the left side of his face is almost human-like. It's a neat little detail that his hair seems to be fading from wavy, strawberry-blond human hair to gray horse hair.

That's already in the game...
It's
The Wetnurse.
The final boss if you are going for the good and easiest ending. (In BB the more effort an ending requires, the worse it is)
Many of the bosses we saw already exist, with slight alterations.

Its all up to interpretation. I dont see any as good or bad endings. In fact what u call the good ending, is the coward ending to me. The more effort u make the more powerfull u become in that ending.

pleas be a new katana. chikage is cool and all, but I don't like weapons that slowly kills me and I always love to 2 hand my katanas.
Don't get your hopes up, the hilt on that katana is identical to the Chikage's hilt.

But this looks like a new katana or something similar.

I hope they don't reuse cleric beast. the best thing about Dark Souls bosses was that they were in general harder and more aggressive than the non dlc bosses. reusing the very first boss is gonna be a joke.

I never played a Souls game before, but I'm really tempted to play Bloodborne, especially for the aesthetics and the art direction.
Should I buy it now or wait for the inevitable GOTY edition?
Also, I have a few PS4 games in backlog, I can wait, but if I'm missing something really great, I can buy it tomorrow haha!

You should probably wait for this Game + DLC edition that will come out early december.

There is no "inevitable" edition; they announced the bundle today.

Definitely wait for it.

I'll wait then! Thanks!

Terrible advice. Bloodborne is one of the best games on the planet let alone ps4 and most likely much better than whatever the hell's in your backlog. Grab it for $40 on amazon immediately and join BB GAF day 1 for the expansion. Why wait for an announced GOTY edition that probably won't even save you any money?

Oh, I didn't know you could buy the game for $40, yeah, that changes things.

Amazing advice. Bloodborne is one of the games on the planet and may or may not be better than whatever the hell's in your backlog. Grab it on Amazon when the GOTY releases and join BB: GOTY GAF day 1 for the game of the year edition. You should wait for the announced GOTY edition that probably COULD save you some money!

seems like the popular theory about who that sitting hunter is
she's the original person that became the basis of the plain doll, also the owner of old hunter's bone

Except the sitting hunter is unambiguously male, so that makes no damn sense.

there's a comparison picture, he has her brooch and her shoes, and what looks to be white hair
like i said, it's just a theory

Well, the Doll was crafted to resemble someone who was actually alive...while this hunter might not be her, they might be a relative...?

The Winter Lanterns are wearing even more of the Doll's clothes; don't know how they'll figure into this.

Oh for fuck sakes. Why did I trade this in?. Like, I was done with it. First souls game, beat in on NG+. I knew I was going to want this... Oh well, looks like I'll wait for the complete edition and pick it up again.

Just wanted to check if my NG+3 character was ready, turns out she wasn't! Didn't take too long though, killed the remaining bosses, consumed the cords, I'm ready!

I think. No idea how the DLC's gonna work, after all.

Let see how my 50/40/50/50/30 level 220 character handles this DLC lol.

Maybe I should just make myself a new girl and limit her level up to 150 or somesuch.

I need to get back to this and finish it now that I've finished MGS V. I got it for $40 on Amazon, so this is an instance where buying the DLC up front at full price works out just fine.

I'm half way through NG+ but haven't played in ages, will I need to finish NG+ to start the DLC?

Not necessarily, but it'll most likely require some progress to get to the point where you can enter the DLC. I'm guessing either Byrgenwerth (trap door) or Forbidden Woods (Tonsil Stone)

I have three different characters in different parts of ng+ but I kinda feel like making a NEW character to play as for the DLC.

I guess it will also depend on how you get to the DLC through the main game. Byrgenwyrth seems like a logical place and that's easy enough to get to within a short period of time.

The Yharnam stone should open up the dlc content.

:^)

Haha! That would be such a trolling move.

Yeah, me too. I can't believe they still haven't patched in the opportunity to get all weapons right at the beginning. It makes no sense at all because you have to level up all weapons the same way. So why not just let us level all weapons progressivly throughout the game? That my only and biggest gripe with this game. It's stupid.
Yes, all weapons. I mean, what was the point in locking them in the late game anyway? None of the weapons you unlock later in the game is stronger or better than one of the weapons you get at the start. They all just offer you a different play style. But since you get many of them very late in the game, they are basically new game + weapons only because you can fully level them as soon as you get them. Like I said, it makes no sense.

Huh, I see it in completely the opposite way. Getting them as you proceed and explore feels rewarding, and it didn't feel like a restriction to choose between three in the beginning. Not to mention, that it's easy to get more than enough of both Blood Shards. I've got three +10 weapons, and another three that are between level 7-9, all the rest are at level 6.

No other RPG gives you all the weapons when you start the game either. The endgame weapons give you more incentive to continue to NG+ as well.

Well at the very least use it for something. So people feels compelled to actually finish Chalice and bloody hell I want a reward for chugging along those identical hallways, damn it!

Also it's a pain in the arse to get the necessary stones to upgrade weapons beyond 2 or 3 max. Chalice helps but then again the Chalice itself is a pain in the arse.

"...Ludwig was the first of many Healing Church hunters to come, many of Whom were clerics. As it was, clerics transformed into the most hideous beasts."

That part about clerics having some of the most violent transformations did occur to me, but I wonder what exactly the deal is, and why he's got the horse motif going on.

I mean, just look at this tragic mess...

Clerics were probably the heaviest users of blood and ancient artifacts, as well as the ones most close to the old ones. Considering how long and involved Ludwig was in the business no doubt it left a huge impact on his being.

Agreed. There should be some use for the Yharnam Stone to reward those who completed the chalices.

It wasn't that hard to upgrade weapons to level 6, and few of them higher. Especially when you can buy the two Blood Shards. To my recollection I got enough Blood Chunks on my initial playthrough, without going to chalices, to raise the main weapon to level 9 and secondary to level 8.

Chikage is the greatest katana in Souls series by far. There's no need for any other katanas.

2 million in 6 months is great.
3 million LTD should be viable after the expansion.

It'd be cool to have an alternate katana to the Chikage. Something to how the Iaito was to the Uchigatana. Literally different strokes for different folks. I'd alternate between the two depending on the situation.
